Ode XVIII
Let not the light be conquered by the darkness, nor let truth flee from falsehood.
1.
My heart was raised in the love of the Most High and was enriched,
that I might praise him by my name.
2.
My members were strengthened,
that they might not fall from his power.
3.
Diseases departed from my body, and it stood for the Lord by his will,
because his kingdom is sure.
4.
Lord, do not — for the sake of those who are lacking —
cast away your Word from me.
5.
Nor — for the sake of their works —
withhold your perfection from me.
6.
Let not the light be conquered by the darkness,
nor let truth flee from falsehood.
7.
Let your right hand set our salvation as victory, and receive from every place,
and preserve all who are held in evils.
8.
You are my God — falsehood and death are not in your mouth,
but perfection is your will.
9.
And vanity you do not know,
because neither does it know you.
10.
And you do not know error,
because neither does it know you.
11.
And ignorance appeared like a blind thing,
and like the foam of the sea.
12.
And vain ones supposed that it was great,
and they too came in its likeness and became empty.
13.
But those who know understood and meditated,
and were not defiled in their thoughts.
14.
Because they were in the mind of the Most High,
and they laughed at those who walk in error.
15.
And they spoke truth,
from the breath that the Most High breathed in them.
16.
Glory and great beauty to his name. Hallelujah.

ܐܶܬܬܪܺܝܡ ܠܶܒܝ ܒܚܽܘܒܶܗ ܕܰܡܪܰܝܡܳܐ ܘܐܷܬܝܰܬܰܪ܆
ܕܐܷܫܰܒܚܺܝܘܗ̱ܝ ܒܝܰܕ ܫܶܡܝ.

ܐܶܬܥܰܫܰܢܘ ܗܰܕܳܡܱ̈ܝ܆
ܐܰܝܟ ܕܠܴܐ ܢܶܦܠܽܘܢ ܡܼܶܢ ܚܰܝܠܶܗ.

ܟܽܘܪ̈ܗܳܢܶܐ ܐܶܬܪܰܚܰܩܘ ܡܼܶܢ ܦܰܓܪܝ܆ ܘܩܳܡ ܠܡܳܪܝܳܐ ܒܨܶܒܝܳܢܶܗ܆

ܡܳܪܝܳܐ ܕܰܠܡܳܐ ܡܶܛܽܠ ܐܰܝܠܶܝܢ ܕܚܰܣܺܝܪܺܝܢ܆
ܬܶܫܕܶܐ ܡܶܢܝ ܦܶܬܓܳܡܳܟ.

ܐܳܦܠܴܐ ܡܶܛܽܠ ܥܒܿܳܕܰܝ̈ܗܽܘܢܿ܆
ܬܶܟܠܷܐ ܡܶܢܝ ܫܽܘܡܠܳܝܳܟ.
6.
ܠܴܐ ܢܶܙܕܟܶܐ ܢܰܗܺܝܪܳܐ ܡܼܶܢ ܚܶܫܽܘܟܳܐ܆
ܐܳܦ ܠܴܐ ܢܶܥܪܽܘܩ ܫܪܳܪܳܐ ܡܼܶܢ ܕܰܓܳܠܽܘܬܳܐ.

ܠܙܳܟܽܘܬܳܐ ܬܣܺܝܡܝ ܦܽܘܪܩܳܢܰܢ ܝܰܡܝܺܢܳܟ܆ ܘܰܬܩܰܒܶܠ ܡܶܢ ܟܽܠ ܐܰܬܰܪ܆
ܘܰܬܢܰܛܰܪ ܡܼܶܢ ܠܟܽܠ ܕܰܒܒܺܝ̈ܫܳܬܳܐ ܐܰܚܺܝܕ.

ܐܰܢ̱ܬ ܐܰܠܳܗܝ ܕܰܓܳܠܽܘܬܳܐ ܘܡܰܘܬܳܐ ܠܰܝܬ ܒܦܽܘܡܳܟ܆
ܐܶܠܴܐ ܐܺܝܬܰܘܗ̱ܝ ܫܽܘܡܠܳܝܳܐ ܨܶܒܝܳܢܳܟ.

ܘܰܣܪܺܝܩܽܘܬܳܐ ܠܴܐ ܝܿܳܕܰܥ ܐܰܢ̱ܬ܆
ܡܶܛܽܠ ܕܳܐܦܠܴܐ ܝܳܕܥܳܐ ܠܳܟ.

ܘܠܴܐ ܝܿܳܕܰܥ ܐܰܢ̱ܬ ܛܳܥܝܽܘܬܳܐ܆
ܡܶܛܽܠ ܕܐܳܦܠܴܐ ܗ̱ܝܼ ܝܳܕܥܳܐ ܠܳܟ.
