Ode XX

The offering of the Lord is righteousness, and purity of heart and of lips.

1.

I am a priest of the Lord,
and to him I minister as priest.

2.

And to him I offer the offering of his thought.

3.

For his thought was not like the world, nor like the flesh,
nor like those who serve carnally.

4.

The offering of the Lord is righteousness,
and purity of heart and of lips.

5.

Offer your inmost parts without blemish, and let not your compassions oppress compassion,
and let not your soul oppress a soul.

6.

Do not acquire a stranger with the blood of your soul,
nor strip him of the covering of his nakedness.

7.

But put on the grace of the Lord without envy, and come into his paradise,
and make yourself a crown from his tree.

8.

And set it upon your head and be refreshed,
and recline upon his rest.

9.

And his glory shall walk before you, and you shall receive of his kindness and of his grace,
and you shall be anointed in truth in the glory of his holiness.

10.

Glory and honour to his name. Hallelujah.
