Ode XXI

I stripped off darkness, and put on light.

1.

I raised my arms on high,
to the mercy of the Lord.

2.

Because he cast my bonds from me,
and my helper raised me to his mercy and his salvation.

3.

And I stripped off darkness,
and put on light.

4.

And I had members restored to myself, and in them was no pain,
nor affliction nor suffering.

5.

And exceedingly helpful to me was the thought of the Lord,
and his incorruptible fellowship.

6.

And I was raised in the light,
and I passed before his face.

7.

And I was near to him, praising and confessing him.

8.

My heart overflowed and was found upon my mouth,
and it dawned upon my lips.

9.

And there grew upon my face the joy of the Lord and his praise. Hallelujah.
