Ode XXIV
The dove flew upon the head of our Lord Messiah, because he was her head.
1.
The dove flew upon the head of our Lord Messiah,
because he was her head.
2.
And she sang over him,
and her voice was heard.
3.
And the inhabitants were afraid,
and the sojourners were troubled.
4.
The bird spread her wings,
and every creeping thing died in its hole.
5.
And the abysses were opened and covered over,
and they were seeking the Lord like women in labour.
6.
And he was not given to them for food,
because he was not theirs.
7.
And the abysses were drowned in the drowning of the Lord,
and they perished in that thought which they had from the beginning.
8.
For they were corrupt from the beginning,
and the end of their corruption was life.
9.
And everything that was lacking perished,
because they could not give a word that they might remain.
10.
And the Lord destroyed the thoughts
of all those who had not truth with them.
11.
For they lacked wisdom,
those who exalted themselves in their hearts.
12.
And they were rejected,
because they had not truth with them.
13.
Because the Lord revealed his way,
and spread abroad his grace.
14.
And those who recognized it know his holiness.

ܡܶܛܽܠ ܕܪܺܝܫܳܐ ܗܘܳܐ ܠܳܗܿ.

ܘܐܶܫܬܡܰܥ ܩܳܠܳܗܿ.

ܘܠܴܐ ܐܶܬܺܝܗܶܒ ܠܗܽܘܢܿ ܠܡܶܐܟܽܘܠܬܳܐ܆
ܡܶܛܽܠ ܕܠܴܐ ܗ̱ܘܼܳܐ ܕܺܝܠܗܽܘܢ ܗ̱ܘܼܳܐ.
