Ode XXIX

The Lord is my hope; I shall not be ashamed in him.

1.

The Lord is my hope;
I shall not be ashamed in him.

2.

For according to his glory he made me,
and according to his grace so also he gave to me.

3.

And according to his mercies he raised me,
and according to the greatness of his beauty he exalted me.

4.

And he brought me up from the depths of Sheol,
and from the mouth of death he drew me.

5.

And I humbled my enemies.

6.

And he justified me by his grace.
For I believed in the Messiah of the Lord.

7.

And it appeared to me that he is the Lord.
And he showed me his sign.

8.

And he led me in his light. And he gave me the rod of his power, to subdue the thoughts of the nations,
and the strength of the mighty to humble.

9.

To make war by his word,
and to take victory by his power.

10.

And the Lord overthrew my enemy by his word,
and he became like chaff which the wind carries away.

11.

And I gave praise to the Most High, because he magnified his servant and the son of his handmaid.

ܘܙܰܕܩܰܢܝ ܒܛܰܝܒܽܘܬܶܗ.
