Ode XXV

I was covered with the covering of your Spirit, and you removed from me my garments of skin.

1.

I escaped from my bonds,
and to you I fled, O my God.

2.

Because you were the right hand of salvation,
and my helper.

3.

You restrained those who stand against me,
and they appeared no more.

4.

Because your face was with me,
he who saved me by your grace.

5.

But I was despised and rejected in the eyes of many,
and I was in their eyes as lead.

6.

And strength came to me from you,
and help.

7.

You set a lamp for me on my right and on my left,
that there might be nothing in me without light.

8.

And I was covered with the covering of your Spirit,
and you removed from me my garments of skin.

9.

Because your right hand raised me,
and you removed sickness from me.

10.

And I became mighty in your truth,
and holy in your righteousness.

11.

And all my adversaries feared me,
and I became the Lord’s in the name of the Lord.

12.

And I was justified in his kindness,
and his rest is forever and ever.
