She is stationed in heaven — the true wild cow of heaven.
She has authority on earth — queen of all the lands.
From the abzu of Eridu she received the divine offices;
her father Enki bestowed them on her as a gift.
The en-office, the kingship — placed in her hands.
With An she was placed on the great throne-dais.
With Enlil she determines the fates of the land —
to perfect the divine offices in the month of the new moon.
The gods of the land bow their necks to her.
The great Anuna prostrate themselves before her,
standing in supplication and prayer before her,
acknowledging her name in all the lands.
My lady decides the verdicts of the land in their place.
Inana weighs the decisions of the land with Enlil.

Goats and donkeys in abundance — Shakan's living creatures of the steppe.

Living creatures, the teeming peoples, bow their knees to her.

At the celestial corner, the charm of heaven,

those who lie on the roof, those who lie beyond the walls —
people come before her, bringing their words.
In that time she knows the word; she knows the evil-doer.
The evil-doer is given an evil verdict — she destroys the wicked.
For the righteous she casts a true eye; she decrees a good fate.

The beautiful, charming lady of heaven descends heroically.
She is laden with the proper ornaments of heaven's east.

Lady of wonders of the land, the lone star, the Venus star —

The palace, the house of counsel of the land —
the house of Iddin-Dagan, where the black-headed people fill the neck.
For Nin-egal, the queen of the palace, the throne-dais was set.
The king is a god; he dwells in its heart.
At the time of examining the righteous,
at the night of the marriage bed, perfecting the divine offices —
at the New Year, on the day of the sacred rites —
for my lady, the marriage bed was laid.
With sweet-smelling herbs and cedar perfume they purify it;
they spread it out for my lady.
They arrange the royal garment beside it —
the royal garment that gladdens the heart, to make the marriage bed sweet.
My lady bathed in the holy water.
She bathed toward the king's loins.
She bathed toward Iddin-Dagan's loins.
Holy Inana rubbed herself with precious stone.
Oil with cedar fragrance was spread on the ground.
The king raised his head toward the holy loins and went.
