Translation

A 27 — Dharmarājika deeds

A crown shone, a hope was cut off, and deeds came into judgment. One had killed living creatures; another praised the Buddha; another heard the jewel of the sūtra and was changed.

A 28

Remorse rose like a heap higher than Mount Vipula. Dharmavṛddhi was named; heavenly vehicles appeared; Indra and Rājagṛha stood within the field of consequence. Devadatta also appeared, not as refuge, but as warning.

A 30 — Remorse of bad deeds of an EGO

Some rose by faith, and some were pierced by remorse. The gods praised the Lord of Buddhas, while the unworthy stood exposed before the teaching they could not master.

A 32 — Remorse (?) of an animal killer

Thus the avadāna declares that every act seeks its fruit. Violence ripens. Reverence ripens. Hearing the sūtra ripens. Let the heart choose carefully, for no crown can hide the harvest of deeds.

A 33

A 47 — Gaṇitasthāna

A crown shone, a hope was cut off, and deeds came into judgment. One had killed living creatures; another praised the Buddha; another heard the jewel of the sūtra and was changed.
