The Record of Teachings on the Fifteen Buddha Rules (佛規諭錄) is Ji Gong the Living Buddha's extended verse commentary on Yiguandao's core ethical code, composed through spirit-writing mediumship in 1971 (Republic of China Year 60) at the Xingyi altar. By the mandate of the Eternal Mother, Ji Gong descended fifteen times over the course of a year, each session devoted to one of the Fifteen Buddha Rules. Prefaces and the closing epilogue were contributed by the Patriarch Lü Dongbin (呂洞賓), known also as the Pure Yang Emperor (純陽帝君).
The fifteen rules are: (1) Revere the Immortals and Buddhas; (2) Follow elders, guide those who come after; (3) Be dignified, upright, and centered; (4) Follow rules and tread the proper path; (5) Bear your responsibilities; (6) Value the sacred above the mundane; (7) Be humble, respectful, and gentle; (8) Do not abandon the sage teachings; (9) Do not cling to outward appearances; (10) Keep your affairs in order; (11) Report before departing, present yourself upon return; (12) Do not disrupt the lineage; (13) Care for the common property; (14) Be lively and responsive; (15) Guard your words and watch your steps.
Each section opens with a four-line acrostic poem — the first character of each line spelling Ji Gong's name or title — followed by a short lyric set to a named traditional tune, then the main verse teaching: long poems of paired seven-character lines in which Ji Gong addresses his disciples directly, exhorts the worthy, warns the negligent, and grounds each rule in the theological vision of Yiguandao — the Three Periods, the Eternal Mother's longing, the urgency of the White Sun Era, and the universal yearning for the Far Shore. Twenty-six years after the original composition, Han Zhongli and Ji Gong descended again, three times, by the Eternal Mother's command, to expound the Rules once more in plain language. The present text is the original 1971 composition.

Preface One
呂祖慈悲(序一)
By the Patriarch Lü Dongbin, Pure Yang Emperor
It has long been taught: the keen sight of Li Lou and the craft of Gongshu Ban — without compass and rule, they cannot make squares and circles. The acute hearing of Master Kuang — without the six pitch-pipes, he cannot correct the five tones. The Way of Yao and Shun — without benevolent governance, it cannot bring order to all under heaven. Each thing, each affair, has its fixed principle. Ships on the sea, planes in the sky, travelers on the road — each follows its fixed route. Without a route, the destination cannot be reached. And the Way is the master of ten thousand chariots, supremely honored, supremely precious — how could it lack rules?
The Eternal Mother long ago set down the Fifteen Buddha Rules. Their purpose: for fear that cultivators, without compass and rule to guide them, might mix in crooked paths and fall into ruin. The Rules were set down long ago. Tens of thousands have heard them. Yet those who have truly advanced by them are as rare as the morning stars — truly, truly few.
Heaven cherishes life. The Eternal Mother grieves for cultivators who do not fear the great tribulation of the Three Periods, who take the Buddha Rules lightly, and so bring about their own fall. She has again commanded your teacher Ji Gong to move the spirit-writing planchette and bestow these teachings — fashioning the meaning of the Rules into a book, to encourage all fellow cultivators to embody them, to advance with fierce diligence, and together to reach the Far Shore. Walking through the gate of propriety along the road of righteousness, spreading the Great Way across the four seas — what disaster need we fear?
Yet fellow cultivators have not penetrated the hidden depths of the Buddha Rules. This leads to laxity and delay — missing the mark by a thousand miles over a hairsbreadth, confusion between those above and below, ruptures between front and back. The great work of the Three Realms is delayed. Their own futures are abandoned.
The Eternal Mother, in deepest anxiety, has promulgated this Record of Teachings on the Fifteen Buddha Rules. This book makes the true meaning of the Rules clear in brief, plain words. Every brother and sister in the Way may obtain it, study it in quiet moments, contemplate it day and night, and advance with added merit. Set up your standards and plumb-lines to awaken those who come after — only so will you not disappoint the vast grace of the Eternal Mother, nor the hard labor of your teacher.
This is the Preface.
I am the Pure Yang Emperor, acting by the Eternal Mother's mandate. I descend to the Xingyi altar and compose this preface. The words reach this far — tomorrow morning another preface will be presented at the spirit-writing board.

Preface Two
呂祖慈悲(序二)

The world grows corrupt, flowing ever toward pollution. Heaven and earth are drowning, and the Way alone can rescue them — this all know. In the Three Periods of the final tribulation, disasters rain down in succession. Only the heavenly Way can rescue the remaining souls together from the water and the fire. The Way encompasses heaven and earth, extending through all four seas — immense and great. Rules must be strict; how can they be loosely held?
Yet cultivators have not been able to give their whole heart, to exhaust their sincerity and exert themselves to the utmost. They hear but do not advance; they know but do not act. What benefit is there in this? If they think of themselves as teachers of others, how can they have no sense of warning in their heart?
In this world of turbulence and tribulation, those who wish to practice the Great Way — to relieve suffering and rescue the poor — must first understand the clear path. The Buddha Rules are of primary importance. When the Buddha Rules are understood, practice becomes easier. Without them, even the bravest and wisest will fall short of the great work. To manifest the majesty of the Great Way, the Buddha Rules must be followed. Without that, the hard-headed cannot be turned.
The Eternal Mother's intent is benevolence — do any of you lack compassion?
For the Three Periods — for fear that fellow cultivators cannot lift themselves up and lift others up together, cannot all reach the Far Shore, and so fall — the Eternal Mother has sent immortals, Buddhas, gods, and sages, countless in number, to compose training texts and bestow teachings. If these are followed wholeheartedly, governing the world becomes as easy as turning your hand; teaching the people becomes as easy as threading a needle. No need to exhaust blood and tears in bitter labor. In the final tribulation, all must develop their hearts of compassion. Embody the great virtue of the Eternal Mother — work together, front and back responding to each other — and the turbid energies of the world will dissolve day by day. The vast upright energy will naturally fill all three thousand worlds. All will celebrate the White Sun Era.
Those of vigorous spirit who hear the Eternal Mother's heart — if they are not moved to the very core, they will incur heaven's wrath and fall into hell forever.
This book is now composed and named the Record of Teachings on the Fifteen Buddha Rules. Within it, the true meaning of each Rule is clearly explained — how it should be followed, the result of following it; and what those who do not follow it ultimately come to. One by one, these things are spoken. If this is treated as if unheard, seen as if unseen — none can escape the three disasters and eight difficulties.
Place your hope in the grace of the Eternal Mother and the virtue of the ancestors. Join hands, support the heavenly plan, and offer what small labor you can. Do not fail what heaven and earth have carried and covered.
This is the Preface.

Rule One: Revere the Immortals and Buddhas
皇母慈賜佛規第一條:尊敬仙佛
Delivered by Ji Gong the Living Buddha
Saving souls in this dusty world, saving souls at the very edge —
Ji saves and guides the four seas and transforms all under heaven.
The principle of the Way breaks forth, the Way blooms —
Ji transmits to all nine provinces without flaw.
The living spark scatters, the living heart is beautiful —
the living wisdom opens the golden flower.
Across the Buddha's path, with added Buddha-wisdom —
the diamond Buddha-body holds the world steady.
[Acrostic: first characters of each line spell 濟公活佛 — Ji Gong the Living Buddha]
I am Ji Gong the Living Buddha, by the Eternal Mother's mandate, descend to the altar hall.
The Eternal Mother — I compose teachings again.
Jade towers — I gaze from afar, mountains and rivers, layer on layer.
Mist and fog everywhere — alone I lean and speak alone.
Searching for a kindred soul to share the wondrous mystery.
Clouds at dusk without end — bitter words, bitter heart.
Wondrous mystery, wondrous spring — where has it gone?
Those with will: hasten forward, toward your own future.
Set to the tune: "Jianzi Mulanhua." Ha ha, stop!
Revere your teacher, honor the Way — this is the worthy one's station;
offer with reverence and earnestness, and your will shall stand firm.
The immortal wind, the Way's bones — wondrous, subtle, profound;
the Buddha's heart returns to simplicity — ease and freedom.
The turning brush hands down teaching scrolls;
good words gently advise the disciples.
Cultivating the Way, everywhere awakening to truth —
embody it always, act without delay.
Lift the clear, urge out the turbid — transform the world;
wisdom-nature and spirit-heart, this is the good year.
Resolve of diamond, aspiration of blue clouds —
sun and moon contend in radiance, shining ten thousand years.
Firm and resolute, plain and honest — walking the four seas;
ferrying all nine provinces to the one with affinity.
The bronze mirror hung high — right and wrong are plain;
bright and upright is the worthy one.
The Way is true, the principle is true, the Heaven-mandate is true —
the Immortals and Buddhas say the same.
Nature itself is true — none of this is wrong;
pierce through this phrase and find its wondrous mystery.
To study the Way and its nature, all requires a teacher;
without a teacher, how can the secret transmission be given?
When three walk together, one is my teacher;
choose the good and follow it, correct what is not good.
The Immortals and Buddhas are the elders of teachers —
in cultivating the Way, the Buddhas are our shoulder-support.
Seek the Immortals and Buddhas to guard you in the dark;
in honoring them, how could sincerity ever be absent?
The Immortals and Buddhas have truly transcended the three thousand realms;
in Wuji Heaven, their joy is natural.
Embody the Buddha Rules — revere the Immortals and Buddhas;
the fish caught — how can we forget the net that held it?
Cross the bridge then tear it down — you will perish by your own hand;
the eye of Heaven watches clearly from above.
Honor the divine without transgression, holding awe;
the affairs of gods and spirits weigh heavy as a mountain.
Offer sacrifice as if they stand beside you;
honor the divine as if the divine stands before your eyes.
The Immortals and Buddhas have no form and no shape —
at every moment they observe whether you have gone astray.
To honor is to honor their great virtue and grace;
to revere is to submit to their compassion.
Guanyin once made seventy-two vows,
swearing to ferry all the souls of the four seas.
Dizang too took the great oath:
to deliver every ghost-soul utterly from the abyss.
Before the compassion of the Immortals and Buddhas, the heart submits —
embody them with sincerity, without a second mind.
If disrespecting the Immortals and Buddhas were acceptable,
if contempt for them had no consequence —
and if your root-merit outshone the divine,
then contempt would bring no guilt upon you.
But the stubborn child brings their own resentment and harm;
when the time comes, heaven's punishment — how can it be avoided?
As your teacher I carry the mission of the Three Realms;
only by relying on all disciples together can the shoulder-burden be shared.
Cultivate this heavenly Way — do not slacken;
at every moment, guard yourself with strict care.
Turn the light back, reflect and examine yourself;
like the tired bird that knows it must return home.
In all things, think thrice before you act;
practice the heavenly principle, and repay heaven thereby.
The times have changed — nothing is as it once was;
wolves and jackals cry out, making people shudder.
Stand upright, embrace the Way, and appear in the world;
thought by thought, diligently practice what your teacher gave you.
Press forward toward your future, and bear beautiful fruit;
otherwise you will be as a bubble — as ashes.
Pass the lamp, pass the fire — easy to lead the way;
teacher and disciple, their hearts bound together.
I hope my disciples add their effort —
open the stopped ears, ferry to the other shore.
Follow the example of Yan Yuan, who held firm with both hands;
follow Qiu Zu, who starved rather than abandon his will.
First difficulty, then ease — this is the proper order of things;
those who have the resolve, heaven will protect entirely.
Those who complete the Way endure ten thousand ages;
they lift up the Seven Ancestors and Nine Generations.
Knowing the true meaning of these words —
to revere the Immortals and Buddhas is clearly right.
The Immortals and Buddhas receive honor without pride;
they bear slander and disgrace without complaint.
They seek only that one small spark in each living being —
not for the sake of their own golden forms.
Reflect on this briefly and you will understand.

Rule Two: Follow Elders, Guide Those Who Come After
皇母慈賜佛規第二條:遵前提後
Delivered by Ji Gong the Living Buddha (Dao-Ji Heavenly Worthy)
The Way's movements return to emptiness — the sun shines gloriously;
returning to Supreme Clarity, transmitting the wondrous mystery.
The golden ark of saving the world, its sail fastened —
the commentary expounds the hidden depths to those with affinity.
The great tribulation of heaven and earth, brambles and tangles —
let the teaching's meaning penetrate and cultivate the heart's field.
Honor the Way, practice earnestly, and the teacher supports your shoulder;
these written words urge all to hold their will firm.
I am Dao-Ji Heavenly Worthy, by the Eternal Mother's mandate, descend to the Buddha's dwelling.
The Eternal Mother — I compose again.
Deep in the courtyard, still — the back garden cold and empty.
The wutong leaves wither, a slight wind rises.
Autumn withers Yellow Mountain — leaf by leaf adrift.
All comes, in the end, to nothing.
In the wild grass, the color of grass enters through the curtain.
A whole heart's bitterness — to whom shall I speak?
Only this wish: let those with affinity reach the Far Shore.
Let us take each other's hand and return home together.
Set to the tune: "Yi Jiangnan." Ha ha, stop!
Follow the Way, walk it upright, raise your strength and courage —
the first among the meritorious rises to the golden register.
Lift up the lost disciples to the other shore together;
those who come after should embody the teacher's heart.
The jade scales turn — training words are assessed;
warn the worthy ones: advance quickly on your path.
The time is urgent — add your spur and press forward;
first difficulty, then ease — and light will shine.
Those who occupy the lower position are the human disciples;
do not climb and grasp above, thirsting after empty glory.
Those who came first and those who came after each have their place;
front and back connected — one heart, one seal.
Those who came after honor those who came before — what difference in principle?
The former worthies lift those behind them to the Far Shore.
Correct yourself first, then seek others;
and you will have no cause to blame heaven or other people.
Those who came later: humble your heart and soften your air;
do not tilt high with a spirit that is not at peace.
Sincerely seek those above you for guidance;
receive their instruction without violation, and add your strength to act.
Awaken to the true principle and repay the teacher's grace;
spread the Way and transform people — rescue the four seas.
Those who came first: be tolerant, be humble and courteous;
guide and teach gently — do not act with violence.
Lead those who came later to study the upright principle;
act without shame in your heart — this is the worthy one.
Great virtue transforms multitudes — be an example yourself;
establish your standards and plumb-lines.
When front and back are harmonious, affairs are easily handled;
follow the rules completely, and help the great work forward.
The intent of the Way is: hold the public at heart;
let the principle of justice spread through the world.
Heaven and earth bring forth creatures high and low alike;
rain and dew descend and nourish the long life.
The Great Way descends to the world to rescue the lost —
to let each person understand their own heart and nature.
The Bright Teacher's one pointing opens the golden lock;
ten thousand wondrous mechanisms become clear.
Obtain the wondrous truth, the true essence —
pass through the correct gate and resolve life and death.
If the Great Way harbors private thoughts,
how can it be transmitted and practiced through the four seas?
Hold the will to save the world and benefit others —
to hoard the treasure of the Way is a heavy crime.
To perfect only oneself alone cannot bring liberation;
how can one complete the Way and display a worthy name?
The transmission without action — the teacher carries this burden;
seeking out the worthy and good to return to the heavenly court.
All must emulate the aspiration of blue clouds —
the old grow stronger and more vigorous, showing their might.
Courageous resolve overcomes ten thousand difficulties;
do not disappoint the teacher's heart and the Mother's love.
The three vehicles and grades of the lotus — each chooses for themselves;
only through merit and virtue can one attain witness.
This good opportunity — do not miss it on any account;
open the blind eyes, shake the deaf ears — show the true lineage.
If you abandon yourself and give up on yourself,
you will fall into a pit from which it is hard to be pulled.
To say you cannot do it is a great mistake —
heaven and earth give birth to people, and all are endowed alike.
Push back and block with hesitation —
when the great disaster comes, you will turn on the wheel of rebirth.
You carry a great vow — know this well;
and there is your oath, heavy as a mountain.
If you yourself fall, it is still a lesser thing —
the Nine Generations and Seven Ancestors will burn in the same fire.
One moment's deviation casts a great mistake;
then to repent and weep — how pitiful.
Tears streaming down — what benefit is there?
While this good time remains: quickly establish merit.
Those who came later practice the Way — the teacher supports their shoulder;
if they accord with heaven's intent, the wind will be fair.
The stubborn child brings their own karmic retribution;
when the time comes, the grievance-spirit will bind their soul.
The former worthies use virtue to protect themselves;
extend it to others, and people will honor you.
Of themselves they awaken the unknowing —
they stand as examples, leaving a sage's name.
I hope my disciples each think carefully —
quickly practice the Way and return to the heavenly palace.
If you do not heed your teacher's counsel,
you will fall into a cage ten thousand fathoms deep.
Always hold awe and add self-examination;
as if standing at the brink of a deep abyss, treading on thin ice.
The way of teacher and student in the heavenly Way carries mutual responsibility;
those who are clear will tremble in the days ahead.
Cut off useless thoughts — each day you will gain;
do not learn the ways of the muddled and foolish child.

Rule Three: Be Dignified, Upright, and Centered
皇母慈賜佛規第三條:齊莊中正
Delivered by Ji Gong (South Screen, Dao-Ji)
Metal and great ingots — smelt and forge the bronze;
timber of forest and grove — beams and ridge-poles of pine.
Water waves rolling — the sea fills and floods;
fire burns and smoke rises — the lamp is lit.
Earth slopes and hillocks, filled and leveled out;
heart in harmony, careful, contemplating, patient.
Humanity and humaneness: uplift, cultivate, transmit, and teach together;
words of instruction, praise, admonishment, and earnestness.
I am South Screen Dao-Ji, by the Eternal Mother's instruction, depart Yaoxi, descend to the altar pool.
The Eternal Mother — I compose again.
Fragrant grasses growing lush and green.
Flowers, moonlight, spring breeze — all enchanting.
Green trees, green mountains, white clouds low.
New dreams never recalled to memory.
Ten thousand mountains and ten thousand peaks — all marked by passage;
where in this life can one find a place to rest?
How many tears of compassion have wet embroidered robes —
and heroes, in the end, weep for themselves.
Set to the tune: "West River Moon." Ha ha, stop!
Bring all the heroes together to carry the Three Periods;
with solemn rules, select the worthy and the extraordinary.
The Eternal Mother's pivot turns the three realms —
the upright Way stands tall, soaring into Yaoxi.
The vast upright energy spreads through the four seas —
filling heaven and earth: great and firm.
Majestic — upholding the Way of the world;
sweeping out the crooked and wild, restoring order.
In the four directions, up and down, the center is master —
the center, held firm, overrules what leans to one side.
Not tilting, not bending — the principle of the Golden Mean;
stand upright through all four seas and eight directions.
"齊" — to level — means to govern yourself;
to examine your own conduct strictly — this is "莊."
"中" — to be centered — means to be straight and not fawning;
not bent, not subdued — righteousness is raised high.
A Confucian in proper dress must be well-groomed;
ragged and slovenly — this is not a worthy one.
Dignified, upright, centered — propriety must be kept;
only then can you cultivate the Way and be called truly worthy.
The Sage Confucius, in leveling himself, wore a clear garment;
his sleeping robe — one and a half lengths of the body.
When fasting, one changes the food and shifts the seat;
the Sage's teaching is established, and not to be treated lightly.
Clothing and ritual — these are the foundation;
to practice the Great Way, guard what is true and constant.
Stand firm in the Way — hold your footing steadily;
do not be easily swept about by the waves.
Cultivate this heavenly Way, follow the upright principle —
stand in your right position and enjoy freedom without limit.
Ritual order and discipline must not be abandoned;
only by practicing it fully can the whole structure hold.
If dignity, uprightness, and center are not fully practiced,
how can you display majesty and assist the Dharma vessel?
Leaders and teachers — be careful and cautious;
hold to the upright principle in order to support and correct.
Lead those who came after you along the Great Way;
cultivate yourself first, and thereby transform those alongside you.
The true Way's majesty awakens the confused and lost —
never bring guilt and disaster upon yourself.
Enough to lift yourself up and lift others up —
spread the Way and save the world, assist the Dharma vessel.
Act according to principle — this is what the Way demands;
do not violate the rules or go against the teaching scrolls.
The Way stands in the three realms, honored as master —
able to illuminate all ten directions, rescuing the worthy.
If you confuse your own spirit-nature,
heaven's law is hard to bear — it does not spare the vicious.
If you willingly destroy your heavenly nature and do evil,
later you will suffer cold and desolate hell.
Practice merit and leave your name behind —
forever receiving incense and fire of honor at the gateway.
Bless your descendants below, lift up your ancestors above —
taking each other's hand, all cross the bitter ocean.
If you obstruct the display of this upright Way,
you will leave a stench through ten thousand years — everyone's reproach.
The Nine Generations and Seven Ancestors will suffer together;
descendants one and all will fall into the Yellow Springs.
A person who acts as a teacher but shows partiality —
know this: the crime is as wide as the sky.
All because those who came after followed their lead —
if you yourself are not upright, how can you correct others?
One person falls, ten thousand fall —
how can there be no guilt clinging to your side?
Your vows must be declared before heaven —
without awe in your heart, you cannot be a main pillar.
You already know the intent of the Great Way;
you already know the tradition and customs of the Way in detail.
If your own nature transcends the three heavens above,
those who came after will all receive glory.
A single thread connects all — none is different;
I am not your teacher speaking in disorder.
The noble person: inwardly full, outwardly plain;
inwardly a sage fulfilled, outwardly a king firm.
Develop and spread the true purpose of saving the world;
together rescue the good people of the nine provinces.
I will surely help the heavenly plan, proclaiming the Way in heaven's name —
take yourself as the model and example, and enjoy freedom without limit.
Set up the pole and see the shadow — do not be lazy or slack;
lest anger sweep away all good fortune.
If you yourself possess great grace and virtue,
people will honor you and help the Way forward.
Without governing, peace comes; without speaking, trust follows —
all four seas as one family, all looking up to you.
I hope my worthy disciples add their effort —
proclaim the Way in heaven's name, mindful of suffering all around.
Go a thousand miles a day — encourage yourself;
strive upstream day by day, seize the golden register.
A drop of water, if it persists, can pierce hard stone;
if you have the will, heaven will not fail your heart.
Feathers piled up can sink a boat — no idle boast;
through bitter forging over time, even iron becomes steel.
Rise early and sleep late to study the upright principle;
spread the Way through the world and dissolve the catastrophe.
Of themselves you will accord with heaven's will;
act in your proper place without wandering.

Rule Four: Follow Rules and Tread the Proper Path
皇母慈賜佛規第四條:循規蹈矩
Delivered by Ji Gong (Lingyin Wine-Madman)
The spirit gate's golden light wraps in auspicious clouds;
the four seas together reach out and join as one heart.
The hidden and the floating wondrous principles are transmitted to the worthy —
the commentary expounds the wondrous mechanism to those who know the sound.
Wine drunk in Chan meditation — the Bodhi Way;
the training of jade scrolls — responding to the three springs.
The free-spirited scholar sets his will and guards his heart;
the guiding words lead the lost ford toward the heavenly bridge.
I am the Lingyin Wine-Madman, by the Eternal Mother's mandate, descend to the altar hall.
The Eternal Mother — I show again.
Immortal wind, floating lightly and freely —
universally saving the worthy, together rescuing the worthy.
Wind gentle and sun bright — flowers and grasses fragrant —
spirit invigorated, heart firm and invigorated.
The Great Way of the Three Periods rescues all around —
together carrying the three suns, supporting the three suns.
The Buddha's great compassion drives the Dharma vessel —
gathering all in one session, one grand session.
Set to the tune: "Yijian Mei." Ha ha, stop!
Follow the sequence, advance earnestly, act in the real world;
the rules, established, make everything round — light shines forth.
Tread the road of righteousness — fill the world beneath heaven;
hold the carpenter's square and compass: this is the plumb-line.
All things in ten thousand forms — created by heaven;
compass and rule, square and circle — each in its class.
Heaven gave birth to the multitudes of people, each with a thing;
the people's constant nature holds beautiful virtue within.
Rules and compass must be strictly held — they cannot be changed;
how much more so the majesty of the Great Way.
Without rules, the four seasons of heaven fall into disorder —
winter blazing, summer cold, everything turned upside down.
Sun and moon in their courses without a track —
the stars careen freely, performing great catastrophe.
Earth without rules — where is its principle?
Without principle, how can it carry mountains and rivers?
How can ten thousand things be nurtured to raise up people?
How can its position endure for long and far?
People without rules — a pitiful sight:
heaven and earth mixed together in chaos.
Surely unexpected harm will rush in the flood of catastrophe —
a thousand miles of bare earth, turning to wasteland and smoke.
Rules and compass, square and circle — a fixed law;
all roads converge — this is the one mystery.
In the final tribulation, the upright principle is submerged;
wasp-eyed people fill the world, making one shudder.
Brilliant and outstanding people — quickly set your will;
morning drums and evening bells — awaken the stubborn.
Hang yourselves by the head, prick your thighs, set the great vow;
widely promote the upright Way with sincerity and reverence.
Think on this constantly — do not slacken;
burn the oil and extend the light — add the immortal spur.
Forsake sleep, forget food, diligently proclaim the transformation;
morning vigor and evening watchfulness — rescue those with affinity.
You think of having left the three heavens to help with the transformation;
to turn the declining wind is no easy word.
You must have a great will that penetrates heaven;
otherwise there is no avoiding infection by the crooked.
In practicing this heavenly Way, you must be clearly awakened —
rules and compass, square and circle — do not cut them off.
Without rules, affairs are hard to complete;
to lose this compass and rule is a loss great as heaven.
Guard yourself firmly, clarify your heart and nature;
act accordingly, and in everything you will succeed.
Be a model yourself — take the vanguard position;
having reached it yourself, help others reach it — rescue those with affinity.
Rules and compass are like a clear road —
when the road is clear, everyone who walks will not deviate.
Once you lose these rules and compass,
you are like a blind person fearing the deep abyss.
Follow and guard them — heaven will surely help;
the Immortals and Buddhas will protect you and grant you peace.
The stubborn child acts as if nothing matters,
ruins their rules and goes willfully forward.
The muddy swamp, the deep pit, the cesspool —
waiting for their joyful heart to fall in.
The burning eyebrows — not yet felt;
the boat reaching midstream — the leak is hard to patch.
The reckless tiger crossing the river: the foolish ones;
morning not knowing evening — unable to grasp the whole.
A single hair holding a thousand catties — here before your eyes;
think of yourself as steady as Mount Tai.
The three disasters and eight difficulties sweep all away —
then blaming heaven and other people, tears flooding the face.
If heaven had not protected you,
ten thousand treasures and tools would have been of no use.
My worthy ones: open your wisdom-nature;
you too can embody heaven's heart and field.
Work with effort and strive forward —
with principle as the standard, the goal will be reached.
Accept hardship and bear resentment, then press on again;
sleep on brushwood and taste gall — endure the difficulty.
Set your will to fight the ten-thousand-demon formation;
unbreakable — brave enough to storm heaven.
Pierce your liver and drain your gall — fear no hardship;
go through boiling water and tread fire — act freely forward.
Cultivating the Way and practicing the Way, all disciples:
quickly, truly follow the Rules' words.
Heaven and earth revolve to bring forth the sage —
and even this relies on the rules to lay on their shoulders.
If the Great Way operates without rules,
after long time, laziness will arise of itself.
If you cultivate and your practice leaves behind these rules,
the fruit of the days ahead is hard to foresee.
I hope you will think and contemplate these principles carefully —
to advance earnestly is what counts as being a great worthy.

Rule Five: Bear Your Responsibilities

Purple bamboo sways, auspicious, displaying its might —
the gate and lintel shine gloriously through ten thousand generations.
Precepts, robes, taking refuge — all properly arrayed;
the Way in the heart, virtue in the countenance — moving the spirit.
The true aperture, the valley spirit, holding the dark female —
the saving boat releases its mooring, rescuing those with affinity.
Heroes chosen, the Three Realms assisted —
the peach-blossom land beyond the world — celebrating the glorious dragon.
I am the Purple-Robed Perfected One, by the Eternal Mother's mandate, descend to the Buddha's dwelling.
The Eternal Mother — I compose again.
Treading through the red dust, rescuing those with affinity —
a heart full of empty sorrow, one cup of wine.
Opening the heart and drinking freely — yet watching the red dust.
Fallen flowers, crying birds — all heartbreaking.
Morning rushing, evening walking — labor in vain.
Sighing at the wandering ones — still drunk deep in their yellow millet dream.
How to cultivate yourself? If you do not cultivate yourself,
you will encounter disaster and fall into hell to meet the King of Hell.
Your teacher has compassion — urges all of you to come quickly to the compassionate shore.
Practice the Way, draw out the mystery, transcend the body of your ancestors.
When merit is complete and the fruit is ripe, sit on the lotus seat.
Establish great virtue and return to the jade forest —
even the gods and spirits will look up to you.
Set to the tune: "Full River Red." Ha ha, stop!
Responsibility falls where it belongs — and there is ease in fulfilling it;
act on your duty and guard it — bring the worthy together.
Hold the corner firmly against ten thousand difficulties;
take up what was cut off, continue what was broken — the Way demands stern cultivation.
The Great Way rises and spreads, saving all who are lost;
respond to the time and address the need — show this to those who understand.
Practice broadly through the three realms, rescuing those with affinity;
regard all as one — together advance as one.
The lifeline of the heavenly Way has long been lost;
the people in the bitter sea — where can they be found?
A thousand and ten thousand crooked paths and heterodox ways —
where can one find the true hidden depths?
The time has evolved to its final day —
one hangs in worry over those who have not yet awakened.
Many are caught by craving for wine, lust, wealth, and anger;
they abandon their own lives — truly pitiful.
The golden wind of the Three Periods sweeps the world —
catastrophe presses everywhere, dense and forest-dark.
As your teacher, I carry the mission of the Three Realms —
universally ferrying all eight directions: immortals, ghosts, and people.
Looking back at those old traces — too painful to recall;
thinking of it, the heart burns like fire.
Like sitting on a mat of needles — how can the heart be still?
Day and night, tears run and wet the collar.
Watching this world's declining wind and defeated ways —
all of humanity's hearts cast aside the Five Relationships.
Therefore practice the Great Way and save the four seas;
those who practice the Way have a responsibility.
What is called responsibility — know this clearly —
humaneness is one's own duty: hear it in detail.
Practicing the Way without responsibility —
how can the Dharma vessel be steered to save the faithful?
Without it, you cannot repay the virtue of your ancestors and your Mother's grace;
in the days ahead, in the first heaven, there will be no lotus seat.
Responsibility weighs heavy — think on it clearly;
leaders, transmitters, and altar masters all bear heaven's duty in their bodies.
Leaders, transmitters, altar masters — all one body;
each has their heavenly duty present in them.
The leader stands in position as a people's teacher —
practices the Way and sets the standard for those who came after.
The transmitter acts as the teacher's deputy and transmits the Way —
one pointing at the Mysterious Pass transforms the lost ford.
The altar master steers the boat and sails the world —
proclaims the ultimate principle and disperses the energy of catastrophe.
Rowing the boat and carrying all toward Ultimate Joy —
if they encounter those with affinity, they must ferry them.
The talented ones receive the mandate to carry the heavenly Way —
do not fear hardship and difficulty.
Stand with head held high, establish the holy work —
accord with above and below, repay the Mother.
Each person's responsibility belongs to each person;
act on it, establish merit, and receive heaven's grace.
The leader practices the Way and makes errors —
those who came after, hearing this, will surely lose heart.
How to be a people's teacher?
In days ahead, the fault will come to rest on your own body.
The transmitter carries the mandate to transmit the Way —
if the oath is broken, the disaster of this tribulation cannot be escaped.
If the great vow is abandoned, pardon is hard to obtain —
when guilt fills to overflowing, heaven cannot endure it.
The altar master steers the boat and practices the Great Way —
day and night guard carefully — every step must be cautious.
One day the wind-sail is handled wrongly —
and all the souls on board become ghost-souls.
The talented ones carry the Way — the rules must be known;
hold to righteous practice and support the three springs.
If the mind to retreat and slacken ever arises,
the Nine Generations and Seven Ancestors will sink and drown.
Those who know this tremble with reverence;
they watch the final tribulation sweep the red dust.
The stubborn child holds rigidly to their fixed nature;
the wise person acts with clear foresight to protect themselves.
Practicing this heavenly Way, proclaiming the Way in heaven's name —
transcending your mysterious ancestors, ascending to the jade forest.
Those who practice guard their hearts with awe;
do not let mistakes entangle body and spirit.
Patch and repair the leaks — it is still this time;
join force together and advance forward.
Act according to the circumstances — guard your opportunities;
do not wander about without a master.
The scholar's will can be killed but not shamed;
the man's heart can bend and extend.
To receive hardship and danger in practicing the Way —
to return to Ultimate Joy is a joy beyond words.
If you fear and shrink back three paces,
you will receive people's mockery and slander.
Whether killed or shamed — see this clearly;
heaven and hell — you must understand them clearly.
Do not yield your position to your teacher when humaneness calls;
do not let others seize your merit and virtue.
In the good time of youth, if merit is not yet established,
then in old age to stamp your feet is foolish indeed.
When your prime years pass — you beat your chest in vain;
it may be hard to meet this good and favorable hour again.
If you have no responsibility and fear duty,
coveting ease and spending three seasons in idleness —
heaven cannot tolerate those without compassion;
in the days ahead, in the first heaven, it will be hard to find a place.
Each must weigh this for themselves — that is the right course;
act in the real world and assist the Venerable Teacher.
When you have repaid the grace of the Eternal Mother and your teacher's virtue,
then you may be called a loyal, filial, and great worthy person.

Rule Six: Value the Sacred Above the Mundane

The spirit-nature is limpid and clear, penetrating the wondrous mechanism —
the six dusts and five aggregates — cast all of them aside.
The master of the Way carries the Three Realms' business;
the golden teachings speak to the good time.
The ancient Way, fragrant willows — spreading everywhere;
the worthy and true embody this, grasping the wondrous meaning.
The Buddha's vast compassion broadly saves the suffering;
good knowledge and wondrous wisdom break through foolishness and delusion.
I am the Natural Ancient Buddha, by the Eternal Mother's mandate, descend to the altar hall.
The Eternal Mother — I explain again.
Light wind, cool and soft — cool and soft;
roaming free beyond the sky, wandering in the Penglai Isles — joy without sorrow.
Steering the Dharma boat — pulling the Dharma boat —
universally saving the worthy, at ease and free — following wind and current.
Set to the tune: "Everlasting Longing." Ha ha, stop!
Restore and advance the holy work, handed down through a thousand autumns;
the holy Way displays its majesty, rescuing the good and worthy.
Easily-given promises breed little trust and invite disaster;
mundane thoughts — cut them off, sever the connection.
Show training words, leave them behind, transform the good and worthy;
practice earnestly and the Way; raise your strength and courage.
Broadly proclaim the ultimate principle — display it everywhere;
spread the Way and save the world — establish the compassionate vessel.
The noble person's great will reaches into the clouds, held firm —
achieve humanity and take righteousness — assist the White Sun.
Red-blooded and loyal with full sincerity —
calm, resolute, and decisive — the principles are all understood.
Looking down, no shame; looking up, no guilt —
forever practice the Way and raise it high.
Wondrous achievements and great works — establish them early;
bend your arm for a pillow and feel at ease.
Promote the Way and save the world through the four seas —
the golden thread, the clear road — guide the worthy.
To practice the heavenly Way, it is no easy matter —
the Way penetrates heaven and earth; its wondrous principles are vast.
It is not that one does not study and already knows —
enough to startle and shake: it is strong and firm.
Making ghosts and spirits weep, moving the three realms —
the Way stands firm, sweeping away the crooked.
"Value the sacred, lighten the mundane" — everyone must keep this rule;
this principle, my worthy disciples — embody it in your heart.
What is called "value the sacred and lighten the mundane" —
the true meaning within should be examined carefully.
"Value" means: put great weight on it, do not neglect it;
the sacred foundation established — transform ten thousand lands.
"Lighten" means: in small measure do it;
the mundane work is secondary — the sacred takes full measure.
If you practice the Way with this intention held firmly,
all in the end can cross out of the ocean of suffering.
This is the true meaning of the Rule;
carry the Way and practice it — guard this guideline.
Of ten parts — give six to holy work,
practicing day and night, transforming the foolish.
Four parts to accomplish your worldly work thereafter —
otherwise you cannot fulfill your vow.
Observing those who carry the Way today —
they attend to the mundane while abandoning the sacred work and forgetting it.
If mention is made of worldly work, their spirit is invigorated;
but if the subject turns to opening up the wilderness — they say they are busy.
When you speak of their thirst for good time —
people cannot escape this impermanence.
When impermanence arrives, all is lost;
to say "the heart is busy" — that is a vain lament.
"Value the sacred" — it must truly be valued;
act on it without delay.
"Lighten the mundane" — this means it is a small matter;
do not let it cling and hang upon your heart.
The sacred work must be valued — know this clearly;
make up your great will and hold your heart firmly toward it.
Worldly affairs should be treated lightly — this is the small self;
if you have not seen through this, you are a foolish person.
If there is sacred work waiting for you,
do not let worldly matters orbit around you.
The sword of wisdom cuts through the demon army;
the sixteen-foot golden body shines with bright light.
The outstanding heroes set their will through the four seas —
wearing out their heads to save their feet — rescuing the good.
The body labors, but the merit returns to the topmost position;
forever serve as the main pillar of the central Way.
Strike mid-current with the oar and endure the suffering gladly —
the blood of Chang Hong turns blue, and the upright energy soars.
A man of worth — he would rather die than bend his will;
for the sake of the Way, the body is gladly cast into the long river.
To repay the Eternal Mother's grace, to fulfill your own vow —
the green and the blue tablet will stand as your monument.
Practice it and heaven will surely not fail you —
the Nine Generations and Seven Ancestors will bow to heaven's blue.
If you fear and shrink from your will,
you are a hairless bird, a scorpion — cold and alone.
Watching with folded arms while others suffer —
abandoning your future, your heart no longer soaring.
Giving all to the mundane realm, the sacred work thrown away —
you yourself feel at ease and free without limit.
This person earns heaven's wrath and human resentment —
gladly incurring heaven's punishment, obliterated and gone.
Fortune and disaster — all is in your own hands;
heaven and hell — do not treat them as distant.
One thought turned right — return to the homeland;
one thought that goes astray — the body is surely lost.
Thought by thought — purely good — heaven and earth protect you;
surely they will protect all of you, and you will ascend to the immortal village.
If without the mundane the sacred cannot be sustained —
then you are cut off from the Way, with no connection.
You have no interest in and ask nothing about the Way —
selfishness and self-interest — your heart grows cold.
You flee and vanish to a distant place —
thinking of yourself alone, as if standing firm.
Your Nine Generations of ancestors suffer —
imprisoned in hell, confined in the Yellow Springs.
Waiting until your own body meets catastrophe and slaughter —
together into the underworld to see King Yama.
What use is deep scheming and far planning?
Clever tricks to deceive others cannot last long.
Or perhaps you adapt and improvise —
but you cannot escape heaven's law, which reflects all clearly.
In the Nine Murky Depths and Ten Dark Realms, the punishments differ;
a silver tongue cannot prove anything against heaven's strong law.
Delaying the sacred work is no light matter —
heaven's mandate is no children's game.
The vows you made have not yet been fulfilled —
with what face will you meet the Venerable Mother?
Craving the mundane and ruining the sacred — heaven cannot pardon this;
I hope my disciples think and embody this in their hearts.
Able to understand right and wrong — the Way-work weighs heavy;
why must the teacher exhaust bitter words?
"Value the sacred" does not mean abandoning all mundane work —
both go forward in parallel, guarding what is true and constant.
Embody the heart of heaven — and heaven will be glad;
in the days ahead, in the first heaven, you will sit on the lotus seat.

Rule Seven: Be Humble, Respectful, and Gentle

You disciples embrace the Way and together support the work —
proclaiming the ancient Way, assisting the great work.
The teacher sincerely pities and lifts the kind and awakened;
the principles are all explained, the wondrous mechanism hidden.
The South Sea lotus boat broadly saves the suffering —
hiding brilliance and nurturing obscurity — saving the multitude of the good.
Screen stands in the central principle, gathering the upright energy;
together straighten out the nine provinces and sweep away the catastrophe.
I am your teacher South Screen, by the Eternal Mother's mandate, step down to the altar dwelling.
The Eternal Mother — I compose the training text again.
White clouds scattered lightly across the nine heavens —
ten thousand mountains and ranges, connected in green.
With nothing to do, I gather herbs and refine elixirs —
joyful and carefree, at play in Wuji.
Surrounding the chessboard, sipping wine, discussing poetry —
wandering through the corridors of clouds and the heights of the sky.
Watching the lands to the east rise in confusion —
establish virtue, and you can keep safe and secure.
Set to the tune: "Flowers in the Rain." Ha ha, stop!
The humble noble person and those nearby are harmonious —
respectful and deferential — studying the school of the ancestors.
Blending light and merging with dust, with a pleasant countenance —
gentle air attracts good fortune; auspiciousness comes to the body.
I urge my worthy disciples — understand the principles clearly;
penetrate the classic's meaning — press forward with strength.
The heart and chest broad and magnanimous — the principles displayed —
together support the wild waves, and show loyalty and courage.
Through bitter hardship, unyielding — light shines out;
shining down through ten thousand ages, leaving a beautiful name.
A pillar in the middle of the current, supporting the Three Periods —
heaven born the heroes — the earth, the spirit.
The benevolent soup and the righteous grain — steeped in heaven's grace;
great impartiality and selflessness — a high sage emerges.
Leaders and altar masters: you must know and keep this Rule —
hold it within your chest.
Know that humility and respect are practiced in your proper place —
auspicious energy penetrates heaven, blessings are full to overflowing.
Be harmonious with the crowd and together carry the Way —
to avoid self-inflicted great tribulation.
Follow and tread your proper place, advance the Great Way —
together lift the lost disciples to the Far Shore.
Set your great will to rescue the suffering —
row the boat and ferry this remnant soul.
Through the ultimate principle and upright energy, transform them;
let them awaken and know their heavenly nature.
Cultivate your own body and correct your own heart —
one mind throughout the world: the great harmony is achieved.
What is called "humble, respectful, and gentle" —
it teaches people to cut off anger and hatred and bring peace.
Humility and respect toward those above — those above gladly guide you;
ask and receive instruction — receive the reflected honor.
True understanding and clear insight embody heaven's will —
knowing there is a road stretching ten thousand miles ahead.
Transcend the world, surpass the mundane — the true immortal's enjoyment;
the Nine Generations and Seven Ancestors escape the pit of suffering.
How free and at ease and peaceful —
seated forever on the lotus seat, feeling the honor.
Gentle and amiable with those below — carry and lift them forward;
good words, bitter medicine — admonish and remind.
Those who came later are slow to receive the teacher's vast grace —
clearly understand the Eternal Mother's and teacher's sincerity.
Of themselves, they will press forward bravely, sparing nothing —
one brave step forward — establish merit.
Watch the affairs of the time — do not be slow and careless;
cultivating and carrying the Way is not a child's game.
Weigh carefully, embody and understand the wondrous meaning —
do not act vaguely and without direction.
When the fire of ignorance blazes up once —
it easily burns the beams of Wuji's great hall.
If the forest of merit and virtue is consumed by fire —
the spirit-energy is worn away and becomes a guilty soul.
In cultivating this heavenly Way, harmony of spirit is paramount;
in carrying this heavenly Way, harmony is the most important.
If you cultivate the Way and have not yet changed your anger and hatred —
there may be blockages and affairs will be hard to accomplish.
When you carry the Way and human harmony is lost —
one single piece of timber — the great hall is hard to support.
If you have doubts — try it yourself;
your teacher's spirit-writing board does not speak in confusion.
The mystery of enduring humiliation is profound and wondrous;
to swallow anger and bring about good fortune is to obtain peace.
Violent energy will surely stir up fighting —
clashing with the brave person — mutual combat.
This draws in the great disaster of bodily injury —
how can you blame the Eternal Mother for lack of fairness?
It is entirely in your own one thought;
carry the Way and make all people set their vows with sincerity.
Your angry words toward those who came after breed strange thoughts in them —
the danger is before your eyes — see it clearly.
Still waters carry a boat and overturn a boat quickly —
do not leave the fault to fall back on yourself, into the cage.
Amiable energy toward others: people honor you;
it makes guests feel they have returned home.
Above harmonious, below naturally at peace —
why fear any disaster arising within the walls?
Those above, with right hearts, awaken those who came later —
one Way and one wind — ascending to the court of principle.
Words of praise spread through the Way — people all believe;
in movement and stillness, in gesture and bearing — do not be careless.
Once an error or deviation has occurred —
the register of merit and fault records it clearly.
I hope my worthy disciples each reflect on this;
stand upright in the world — moral virtue intact.
Clouds gather — the righteous people of the world gather;
greatly carry out the gathering, return to the meeting of Non-Being.
The number is already fixed — it may be hard to change;
those who understand the times are the worthy ones.

Rule Eight: Do Not Abandon the Sage Teachings

The spirit seedlings and valley spirit — delve the source of nature;
carefully practice righteousness and principle, enter the upright energy and reflect.
Hidden — the old capital, seeking the true law;
the commentary explains the words and awakens the foolish and stubborn.
Chan mechanism, true lineage — the lifeline received;
train the obscure and penetrate the enlightened — cultivate the nature to completion.
The Way of teachers spreads to the world — by heaven's mandate accomplished;
the scroll of scrolls especially urges all those with affinity.
I am the Lingyin Chan Master, by the Eternal Mother's mandate, descend to the altar dwelling.
The Eternal Mother — I instruct again.
The setting sun in the west — the fishing boat launches;
the rod raised, the golden carp certain — the immortal robe displays its might.
The flowing water, without feeling, runs east —
sing, sing, Bodhi — the wine spirit rises — the four seas with affinity, rescued.
Set to the tune: "Crabapple Spring." Ha ha, stop!
Do not stir up wrong thoughts — guard the seedlings of the Way;
cast away like worn-out sandals — cast to the nine heavens.
The sacred pronouncements, the Buddha's words — these admonish and urge;
the training's meaning conceals the mechanism — showing the worthy.
The turning brush again tells all the good and worthy —
listen with the heart and know the time — contemplate heaven's will.
From ancient times until now, the way of cultivation —
virtue and goodness in prominence — this must be known fully.
The cycles of heaven's principle — how many transformations they have passed;
the sun at high noon tilts — flourishing then declining.
Only by weighting the heart of heaven, taking the human sense —
"a burst of heat, ten periods of cold" — none of these are worthy.
Think three times before acting — that is the right course;
do not abandon the crooked, the deceptive, the hard and stubborn.
Prepare before the rain and know the affairs;
guard against trouble before it arises — keep peace secure.
Bind your body, love yourself — honor righteousness and principle;
carefully honor the Immortals and Buddhas and the former worthies.
Is there any error in receiving instruction toward the good?
With a reverent heart, truly practice — and in principle you will return to heaven.
What is said about not abandoning the sage teachings —
all children of the Way: contemplate this to its depths.
"Do not" means: do not do it, must not do it;
"abandon" means: throw away and discard, not looking or observing.
"Sage" refers to sages or to the Immortals and Buddhas;
"teachings" are instructive words or training scrolls.
The true meaning of not abandoning the sage teachings:
teach people to revere and honor them as Mount Tai.
Walk in their teachings, accord with heaven's will —
to violate the rules is to fall yourself into the deep abyss.
Heaven lists the three capacities, the five agents in motion —
heaven and earth do not speak and do not say.
Only by borrowing human words can understanding come —
the words are not light — you must see through them.
The noble person holds three things in awe:
heaven's mandate, the great person, and the sage's words.
Heaven's mandate surpasses the emperor's command —
who does not hold it in awe and reverence?
The great person holds vast virtue and universal compassion —
seeing ahead, what is to come — all encompassed.
The sage comes into the world as a teacher and example —
teaching and transforming the unawakened men and women.
Without following these three awe-inspiring things — what Way do you cultivate?
Even carrying the Way may bring guilt upon you.
If the Immortals and Buddhas do not receive the mandate —
they dare not move the spirit-writing board and show the planchette.
Only by honoring heaven's mandate without second thoughts —
does the compassion of saving and rescuing the suffering arise.
Teaching and instructing and training — with hard-won care;
to honor and respect this is to fear falling short.
How would they dare to toss the teachings to one side?
Those who can follow this Rule: heaven will protect them wholly.
Still the heart and receive the meaning within;
when you have finished reading, put it away carefully and with strict reverence.
Lest it bring trials or bring difficulties —
keep your body and family safe, and enjoy happiness.
Look back and ask about the true heavenly Way —
it is because of the former worthies that one is guided and led forward.
The Immortals and Buddhas in spirit-writing earnestly tell us —
bitter words, motherly heart — again and again, one session after another.
Nowhere failing to look after those who cultivate the Way —
this grace — even giving up one's life cannot repay it.
Therefore those who can follow the Buddha's instructive words —
the bright and broad path reaches the homeland.
Morning to evening — what worry or difficulty can come?
Only guard the Way and principle — hold it close with both hands.
Press earnestly forward — do not retreat or grow weary;
rush forward without fear, without laziness or slowness.
When merit is complete and the name established, sit on the lotus seat —
the name left through ten thousand ages, handed down a thousand autumns.
If you hold to your own cleverness and cunning,
and abandon the sacred work — not knowing to turn back —
your name ruined, your reputation lost, receiving shame and disgrace;
wasting your heart's effort — ten thousand times over.
One principle, once fixed, extends through three thousand worlds —
no human can move or shift it.
Abandoning these sage teachings, losing reverence and honor —
there will be great disaster pressing before your eyes.
Of your own making — a great sin that cannot live;
how can you blame heaven above for lacking compassion?
Once a trial causes those who came after to retreat —
sin added to sin, the account is hard to settle.
When it is too late to regret — you must know this;
knowing it — quickly change and repair what is lacking.
At this time, sage teachings number in the thousands —
shallow and deep, uneven — hard to classify equally.
The deep ones guide the worthy person forward;
the shallow ones open the thoughts of all living beings.
If one understands the principle and presses forward earnestly,
one becomes a worthy person and attains the lotus seat.
One by one, accept ten thousand hardships;
through wind and rain, through trial — the heart is glad.
Swallowing bitterness and holding the bitter — no complaints;
traveling through stars and wearing the moon — sleep and food interrupted.
Only in valuing the sacred and arousing compassion —
ferry all those with affinity to the Far Shore.
Having fulfilled your vow, heaven and people rejoice —
shining down through ten thousand ages, stretching on forever.
To pull back the horse at the cliff's edge — it is not yet too late;
once you slip and fall — only an empty lament remains.
The good opportunity of the Three Periods — do not miss it;
after the lower era passes, this occasion will be hard to meet again.
I hope all my worthy disciples contemplate this carefully —
do not disappoint your teacher's heart and field.
Loyal and filial in both — become a sage and worthy;
repay the grace of the Eternal Mother and the blessings of the ancestors.
The teaching words end here, at this point. Farewell.

Rule Nine: Do Not Cling to Outward Appearances
皇母慈賜佛規第九條:莫著形相
Delivered by Ji Gong (Crazy Monk of West Lake)
From the Pure Land of the West, through the wondrous sound —
awakening to the law and contemplating the principle, entering the sage's gate.
The sun and moon reflect divided images in the lake —
virtue and the Way established together, penetrating heaven and earth.
The wild monk rushing through the three thousand worlds —
rescuing and saving all four seas, the faithful people.
Buddhist monk, ordained, keeping the five precepts —
the human heart returns to ancient purity, dissolving the energy of catastrophe.
I am the Crazy Monk of West Lake, by the Eternal Mother's gracious instruction, descend to the Buddha's court.
The journey is done — I compose commentary again.
Auspicious energy and pure wind arising —
surging through Yaoxi — awakening to the wondrous, knowing the ultimate principle.
Receiving the transmission — those with affinity have come to be shown;
together returning to Wuji.
Quickly set the root foundation —
see through heaven's will — cultivate moral virtue and merit, complete the Way.
At the Dragon Flower Assembly, the worthy and extraordinary are chosen;
together break through foolishness and delusion.
Set to the tune: "Waves Scouring the Sand." Ha ha, stop!
Do not betray heaven's will — follow the human heart;
clinging and attachment to biased views leads to sinking and drowning.
Form is hurried and frightened — easy to invite defeat;
act according to the situation — this is the true worthy person.
The Way revolves — the principle is inexhaustible;
non-action transforms — and the true lineage is displayed.
The wondrous mystery and wondrous formula descend to the three realms —
thunder shakes and moves — gods and spirits are startled.
The Great Way has no form and has no shape —
it gives birth and nourishes heaven and earth, sun and moon in their courses.
All things in ten thousand kinds are encompassed —
giving birth to people and nurturing things — the rules are strict and complete.
"Without name" — heaven and earth begin from this;
"with name" — ten thousand things can then be born.
Always maintain the one point of the dark female aperture —
gathering the essence and vitality of heaven and earth.
Virtue nourishes all ten directions and stands as master —
looking at things, high and low — all are one body.
When the time and opportunity arrive, ten thousand mysteries are displayed;
the wondrous mechanism is enough to awaken the confused child.
And when the movement is complete, there is no trace left —
like heavenly embroidery — without seam.
The Great Way without form — that is where its wonder lies;
true principle without shape — it has beginning and end.
In the Eternal Mother's domain, all things have shape —
shape after shape, color after color — hard to distinguish clearly.
"Whatever has form and appearance is illusion" —
only the Way is supremely honored, fixed through ten thousand ages.
The true mechanism encompasses a thousand ten-thousand laws —
humans find it hard to grasp or understand clearly.
Like a city mirage in the sea — empty words cast up;
insubstantial affairs hung in the air.
Also like long smoke and white clouds scattering —
dim and indistinct, far and dark — like the wind.
Like a spring dream — no trace —
shapes and appearances are false apertures: how can the Way pass through them?
Lightning flashing — for how long does it remain?
The confused child has no understanding — still blurred.
Speak of it also as the moon in the water —
like fresh flowers reflected in a bright mirror.
Living beings cannot understand its hidden depths —
day and night, drunk and confused, their spirit-nature sunk.
The four-line verse has also said this:
"If you seek to see me through form, or find me through sound —
this person is walking the path of the crooked way;
they will never see the venerable countenance of the Tathagata."
Heroes and wise people — quickly and fiercely awaken;
open the eye of wisdom — open its golden light with speed.
Know of yourself that the great world of ten thousand is false;
also see that the five aggregates are all empty.
Only the heavenly Way stands through ten thousand ages;
universally ferrying the four seas — rescuing those with affinity.
The form-body is also false — it houses a hundred years;
after a hundred years, it must return to its end.
If you understand this principle and add your contemplation —
replace heaven in transforming people — clarify the principle.
Living beings clinging to appearances — truly pitiful;
thus the Far Shore cannot be reached.
All cultivators, my worthy disciples —
dissolve form and eliminate appearance — the Way becomes easy to complete.
Ordinary men and ordinary women — who would willingly believe this?
They are burdened by appearances and fall into the pit of suffering.
Once killed by appearances —
a heart full of bitterness — impossible to be assessed.
If in cultivating the Way you cling to form and appearance,
you are bound by appearances and confined in the cage.
Cultivating the heavenly Way in vain — enduring bitter trial —
if you turn into a guilty soul, your prior merit is lost.
You should guard carefully and see without form —
what can be seen — all becomes empty.
If this principle is true, act with sincerity to show it —
why wait for others to speak before you can act?
Heaven descends the heavenly mandate upon ordinary people —
there is no material object given as proof.
If you use a physical object as proof,
everyone who sees it will be swept away by their heart.
Your teacher speaks truly — the principle has no concealment;
good words, straight speaking — to all the worthy ones.
There is absolutely no deceiving you into setting your vow;
"suspension-mouth, crossing the river" — gladly inviting catastrophe.
All because the form and appearance have not been broken through —
speaking in vain of fiery will and righteousness and loyalty.
The ultimate result is a bubble's position —
it is a pity: the prior merit of ten thousand miles' journey.
As for the rest — not enough to say further;
a few words: those who can understand them will return to the heavenly palace.
The stubborn child who cannot follow these words
will bring their own trouble and enter the pit of suffering.

Rule Ten: Keep Your Affairs in Order
皇母慈賜佛規第十條:手續必清
Delivered by Ji Gong (your teacher, the Wild Elder)
The teacher bears responsibility — do not disappoint the grace;
assist and support the movement of fortune, hold back the good people.
The teacher's majesty and virtue are awe-inspiring, imposing —
the Way-energy is solemn — enduring ten thousand ages.
The wild wind stops — the world is at peace;
the golden ark of saving the world transmits the wondrous sound.
Young and old together cultivate, learning ritual and propriety —
you and I together shoulder it, treading the sage's gate.
I am your teacher the Wild Elder, by the Eternal Mother's gracious instruction, descend to the altar hall.
The Eternal Mother — I compose again.
One night — the east wind — how much sorrow.
Tears wet the garments — the heart burns.
The crying birds — in the dream, what further awakening?
The mind in confusion, as if twisted.
Plotting and planning for the Three Realms' final tribulation —
the four seas rescue the worthy.
The hero's great vow — not yet fulfilled —
wake early from the clamor of the world.
Set to the tune: "Painting the Crabapple Spring." Ha ha, stop!
Take the hand of heaven and earth — resolve what is upside down;
continue the merit, supplement the fault — build the holy work.
With utmost reverence and full respect — propriety is complete;
the clear wind and bright moon shine on the blue sky.
The Great Way moves in accordance with the four seas —
heaven's grace saves the world, transforming the good and worthy.
Heart-transmission restored — the origin of the people of the Eternal Mother;
selecting the worthy and capable — assisting the Way forward.
Continuing the past and opening the future — the lifeline received;
generation to generation — handed down, leaving a lasting fragrance.
Seeking out the good opportunity to raise the great will —
the young student aspires but waits until mature in years.
The rules of practicing the Way must be kept —
the way of pervasive unity: displaying the high and noble.
Through passes and barriers, ten thousand li, through ten thousand dangers —
rushing through the dusty world, embracing the Way and raising it high.
None of it is for any purpose other than to resolve life and death —
one step straight across the bitter ocean of suffering.
The rare affinity of the Three Periods is hardest to encounter —
heroes and outstanding people together assist the vessel.
What this Rule urges upon all:
affairs in order — examine this carefully.
"Affairs in order" means proper procedure and evidence —
"must be clear" means: do not be confused and wild.
Several items that everyone must keep —
act in your position and you are the good and worthy.
The talented ones proclaim the Way in heaven's name —
remind the confused children and the foolish ones.
The family must be pure and clean before one can guide others —
the lost seeking the pointing to open the Mysterious Pass.
The altar master captains the boat and sails the Way;
hold your heart steady and firm — do not change direction.
Hold your course firmly, raise the anchor and sail —
in the Way's affairs, procedure must be understood clearly.
When Way-brothers and sisters contribute merit offerings —
every single cent must be recorded in clear chapters.
Clean in, clean out — procedure is clear;
step by step ascending — the rules and disciplines grow long.
The transmitter receives the mandate to transmit the Way — the rules must be known;
to violate the Buddha Rules is to bring disaster upon yourself.
Practice strict caution — do not err in your intentions;
lest guilt and fault cling around you.
The leader, in place of others, submits merit offerings —
one cent forgotten brings falsehood and untruth.
In the Buddhist teaching, this one silver coin
is compared to Mount Sumeru, king of mountains.
To misuse public funds is an enormous crime —
to misappropriate community money — heaven's prison holds you.
Therefore to be careless in small things is also wrong —
day and night, reflect and examine — let the light shine out.
As evening approaches and the road runs out — crouch and hide in every corner;
all those who carry the Way: add your guard and protection.
Clean in, clean out — do not stain with pollution;
protect yourself and your family — peaceful and secure forever.
In practicing and carrying the Way — managing all affairs —
walk ten thousand roads and they are all the same.
The Great Way: if you wish to practice it — the public comes first;
without talent, do not boast and exaggerate.
Seeing the unworthy — relieve them of their post;
lest they commit sins and anger the blue sky.
Seeing the wise and virtuous — elevate them;
then you may be said to have exerted yourself to the utmost, merit running deep.
Once it is acted on, heaven will not fail you —
merit completed, name established, people look up to you.
Ten thousand ages handed down — never extinguished —
the Nine Generations and descendants will share in the glory.
Act in your true position — how can people slander you?
Hardship has its price — it is recorded on the golden register.
The stubborn and fixed who will not act miss the good opportunity —
it has nothing to do with your teacher, and no harm to your teacher.
You make the sin yourself, you receive it yourself —
the punishment and suffering — you bear it yourself.
If in cultivating the Way you are deceived by demons and evil spirits —
your perspective on cultivation and the Way will change.
The karmic retribution in days ahead — know this too —
in the disaster you will be chopped into meat-soup.
If in practicing the Way you envy outside lineages,
you abandon your own future and follow the waves.
The karmic fruit in days ahead — know this too —
ten thousand disasters — hard to overturn — how tragic.
Heaven and hell — two roads;
light and dark, straight and crooked — distinguish them clearly.
Walking in the dark — heaven assists their affinity;
walking in the light — heaven assists their strength.
Each follows their own path — no connection between them;
the wise contemplate this: enough to stand firm.
For the sake of this heavenly Way — do not be faint-hearted;
the brothers and sisters of the four seas — connect your hearts.
Seeing others' suffering as your own —
lift these good and kind ones out of the ocean of suffering.
Otherwise, when the moment is missed and regret comes too late —
without merit — how to face the Compassionate Mother?
"Affairs in order" — briefly contemplate this;
those who understand: add your practice and assist the White Sun.
Repay the heart of the Eternal Mother,
repay the teacher's heart in expounding the Way.

Rule Eleven: Report Before Departing, Present Yourself Upon Return

The lake green, the mountains blue — the lotus flower opens —
shining gloriously through ancient and present, sending forth brilliant light.
Hidden deep — the true mechanism awaits the time to appear —
the Way-energy saves the kind, releasing them from the dusty world.
Chan stillness and great law — observing the wondrous subtlety —
rescuing and saving the confused child, clarifying the root and the sprout.
The teacher's example for ten thousand ages — grasping the lifeline —
the human heart returns to simplicity — crossing back to the old home.
I am the Lake-Hidden Chan Master, by the Eternal Mother's instruction, descend to the altar dwelling.
The Eternal Mother — I compose the text again.
Following the waves, following the waves —
the current running crosswise, submerging the heroes.
The outstanding person drunk in their yellow millet dream.
Escape the ocean of suffering! Leave the ocean of suffering!
Cultivate the truth, grow strong, and return to the homeland.
Joy and happiness — lasting and long.
Set to the tune: "Everlasting Longing." Ha ha, stop!
Transcend the crowd, surpass the ordinary — shining through ten thousand ages;
advice and guidance, heart-transmission — awaken to the wondrous subtlety.
Examine yourself and ask — do not err or miss;
face the wall — merit runs deep — escape the cage of dust.
I urge my worthy disciples — one scroll of text;
carry the Way, penetrate the mystery — truly true within truth.
Respectful, reverent, proper — dignity and bearing established —
handed down through ten thousand ages, shining through the sage's gate.
The ultimate principle and great words transform the multitudes —
all roads lead back to the true root and origin.
A hundred rivers converging, returning to the source-flow —
greatest and most upright — enduring ten thousand ages.
Vast and solemn energy penetrates the four seas —
the upright energy, immense — passing through the clouds above.
A red heart shines forever upon the ten-thousand-age law —
return to the true principle, transform the lost ford.
My worthy disciples who carry the Way must know this —
penetrate through to the hidden depths of this Rule.
What is said about "report before departing, present upon return" —
everyone should keep this and firmly follow it.
"Depart" means traveling to a distant or different place —
"report" means to inform clearly when you wish to leave.
"Return" means coming back from a distant place —
"present" means to come face to face and report upon your return.
Carrying the Way, receiving the teacher's mandate —
summoned to a distant place to give your full heart.
When you wish to go — report to the former worthies;
clarify what time you plan to set out.
Sincerely seek from the former worthies their guidance —
how to proceed so that all goes smoothly.
After receiving the former worthies' guidance —
hold it ever in your bones, ever in your heart.
Act on it with resolution and diligence —
do not fear hardship and difficulty.
When the matter is done, return quickly — do not delay;
do not be lured away and miss the good time.
Upon returning — come face to face and report to the former worthies —
your words and the circumstances — do not conceal them.
This allows those above to have no worries —
to carry the Way with responsibility, with no disappointment of grace.
It also allows for discussing difficult matters —
all together can speak and confer.
In the first heaven — to speak of this as complete loyalty —
only then can you be called a hero, a person of outstanding worth.
If those above entrust an affair and command you to do it,
and you push it away and disobey and are negligent and failing —
or if you rise up in anger with furious energy,
and act with delay, not giving your full heart —
or if you rush through the work carelessly and return late —
when you come back, something happened but you don't speak of it.
Concealing it within your own heart — truly vexing;
how can you carry the Way and transform the lost ford?
Being fully loyal and fully filial — people should keep this;
to lose loyalty and lose filial piety leads to sinking and drowning.
Be fully loyal to the Amitabha Heaven;
be fully filial to the Venerable Mother.
If parents are present, do not travel far;
if you must travel, go in a specific direction — console the elder's heart.
Your conduct should follow the example of the ancient sages —
assist the Way, transform people, ascend to the Compassionate Shore.
How to proceed — you should know and keep this;
hold the courageous will firmly, and rouse your spirit.
From beginning to end, as one — do not waste this;
hold firm your will, act on affairs, and repay heaven's grace.
When your own duty is fulfilled, you can complete the Way —
the homeland of Ultimate Joy — attest to the lotus seat.
Once the great will is decided, follow heaven's mandate —
even the foolish old man can move a mountain, if there is faith.
Without will, even small affairs are hard to accomplish;
with will, it is easy to establish great merit.
If the stubborn nature goes against the heaven's mandate —
great disaster will draw itself down and arrive.
There is a road to heaven — you will not walk it;
the door of hell is closed — you force it open and rush through.
Receiving the karmic fruit as retribution —
when the time comes, tears will soak the collar.
Life and death revolve — easy to turn;
the Great Way is hard to complete — you receive the wheel of rebirth.
Once you slip and fall, your prior merit is lost —
like a bubble, like a cloud in the sky.
"Report before departing, present upon return" — this must be kept;
everyone who practices it: it endures through ten thousand ages.
The former worthies lift those who came after to awakening —
in response, act as the teacher's deputy and advance the Way forward.
Drink of the water and remember its source — grace must be repaid;
act through to the very end — do not forget the root.
A few years of pious labor in carrying the Way —
in the days ahead, Ultimate Joy — enjoy the lotus seat.
If you know and awaken — quickly, quickly awaken —
sins and faults — release them in one blaze of fire.
Add your effort more diligently — that is the right course —
so as to enter the White Sun, the final three springs.
To know how to return to the root and source is good and kind;
your example is set, your name left, and people honor you.
If you have the will, heaven will surely not fail you —
complete the Way and become the most honored.
Three giving-without-fear — the teacher supports your shoulder;
fulfilling your own duty and great responsibility.
Among the five great sacrifices — take one:
you may stand alongside the ancient sages, your name enduring together.
Do not take on disaster — practice the Rules;
fulfill them both fully — raise the family's glory.
Together, as one, form a unity —
complete the work of the Three Realms, celebrate the three springs.

Rule Twelve: Do Not Disrupt the Lineage

The spirit's wisdom, brilliant and luminous — moistening the nature like a wheel —
opening and clearing the blocked mind, the heavenly wisdom passing through.
The wondrous truth, primal and vast — the Three Periods unfolding —
awakening to the ultimate principle — reaching the Far Shore.
Heaven-pure and lively, transparent and clear —
the foolish and sincere: the ultimate principle responds.
Honor words, extend in practice — promote humaneness and righteousness;
the confused heart: quickly shattered — returning to the spirit-nature.
I am the Wondrous Heavenly Worthy, by the Eternal Mother's mandate, descend to the altar dwelling.
The Eternal Mother — I compose the training text again.
Watching the living beings — confused in their heart-nature;
craving fame and gain — they do not turn back.
Missing the good opportunity of the Three Periods.
Having never cultivated the body to ascend to the old court.
Truly fortunate — they encounter the heavenly Way;
quickly build great virtue, seize the foremost merit.
If this good opportunity is missed — regret is hard to assess;
ten thousand disasters — it is hard to achieve transcendence and birth.
Set to the tune: "Stamping and Refining." Ha ha, stop!
Do not be arrogant about small festivals — hold the great will;
confusing and misleading words — cut them off at the roots of the ears.
The lineage connects the golden thread, receiving the lifeline —
ruling the four directions, gathering the group of worthy ones.
Moving the jade writings of the spirit-writing board, true —
the wondrous mechanism and wondrous principle descend to the ancient east.
With honor and propriety, walking upright — dignity and bearing established;
the constant of heaven and earth — transforming the confused multitudes.
Vital and soaring, transcending the ordinary —
of dignified countenance, learning from the ancient sages.
Seek humaneness through humaneness, gladly enduring suffering —
give up life to take righteousness, hold the great loyalty.
The scholar does not forget the ditch in which they may lie;
the brave person does not forget losing their head.
Raise the fiery will high throughout the world —
develop and display the upright principle, sweep away the declining wind.
My worthy disciples cultivating the Way must know this —
distinguish clearly the true from the false, jade from stone.
Know the upright and the crooked — stand them in two classes;
the roads of light and dark are not the same.
"Do not" means: do not, also must not;
"disrupt" means: confuse, making it impossible to distinguish clearly.
"Do not disrupt the lineage" — know the meaning;
all who hear it: exert your full strength to practice it.
This Rule's true meaning — it counsels all:
cultivating and carrying the Way — one heart, with sincerity.
Feet on the ground, holding simple purity;
reaching for the sky and grasping at the moon — that is not the worthy one.
Wholehearted, with sincerity and reverence;
a grasping mind is vain glory.
Cultivating the Way: just make the effort;
never mind those to the left and right who display their might.
Diligently cultivate sublime virtue — attain the lotus seat;
enter the White Sun — ascend to the Dragon Flower.
In the final tribulation, the teacher carries the Three Realms' mandate —
universally ferrying all living beings, raising the true lineage.
True principle: one, not two —
ten thousand teachings return to it as the highest vehicle.
Ten thousand laws and ten thousand things rely on one master —
the affairs of the three thousand worlds — one response.
After the three teachings came the thousand schools;
after the thousand schools came the ten thousand teachings.
Since there is prosperity there is decline;
since there is strength, there is then weakness, then decline, then flourishing.
Only the Great Way — the countenance has never changed;
the bright light and radiance — clear for ten thousand ages.
The sage school and the teaching school: know these;
having heard the heavenly Way, cultivate your own nature.
Hold your heart and firm your will — that is the right course;
never mind dabbling in flowers and stirring up the green grass.
The pure rules — hold to them above all;
only then can you avoid slipping and falling into the pit of suffering.
If you do not follow this — drifting and searching everywhere —
the tall tree standing at the tip is easy prey for the wind.
Wind stirs, the branch breaks — this happens often;
climbing high and falling down — you fall hard.
If you follow the true principle step by step —
morning and evening, peacefully secure — you will be truly still.
How to proceed without disruption — listen carefully again:
At this time, demons and evil spirits appear one by one —
seventy-two false ancestors borrowing names and titles.
Three-six, the great bow-and-arrow will manifest —
each displaying as the divine, unfolding their divine power.
Using the false to confuse the true, to deceive people —
the evil spirit borrows an aperture to confuse what is upright.
Speaking of flowers raining down from heaven —
speaking of a whole room emitting brilliant light.
My worthy disciples: guard strictly and be prepared —
do not let the evil spirits mount an attack.
Those who cultivate the Way — altar masters or people of talent —
are the very targets they fix their eyes on.
Taking advantage of your unpreparedness — they approach;
at every moment — do not let down your guard.
If you see visitors of the crooked Way come —
shut the door, turn away guests — do not make contact.
Otherwise, listening to their words and being led by them —
in every affair, good and evil — following them one by one.
Of themselves, confusion disrupts the Way's system;
in the end: hell to suffer punishment.
The golden thread — receive it, and never cut it;
once cut, your life will be hard to preserve.
Abandoning the great work of eighteen thousand ages —
it will be hard to return to heaven — you fall into the dark abyss.
If you follow your teacher's words in practice,
if something happens — your teacher will bear the trouble.
The testing of the Way in the second period is the demon of chaos —
great chaos and great confusion testing the sages and holy ones.
If the faith is not settled, the danger is immense —
one moment of unguardedness — into the cage.
If you hold firm and raise your will for the Way —
one vessel, wind favorable, reaching the heavenly palace.
Let the evil speak until their throat is dry and saliva is gone —
my heart, steady — as firm as Mount Tai.
Why worry that the Way cannot be completed?
Why fear that the shore cannot be reached?
Think through it for yourself — and you will know it.
I offer these few words to assess the crowd.

Rule Thirteen: Care for the Common Property
皇母慈賜佛規第十三條:愛惜公物
Delivered by Ji Gong (Crazy Monk Ji Dian)
Saving the poor and helping the suffering as if it were your own body —
encourage those with ability — advance your future.
In toil and hardship, the will stands firm —
with one united will, the city walls stand, supporting the Compassionate Shore.
The holy lifeline holds its majesty, transforming the earth broadly —
truly study the principle, open the lost ford.
Monks and laypeople together assist the Three Periods' work —
sailing ten thousand miles, spreading the Buddha's grace.
I am the Crazy Monk Ji Dian, by the Eternal Mother's mandate, descend to the altar court.
The Eternal Mother — I compose training and assessment again.
A round bright moon rises to the cloud-peak —
the mountain heights, roaming free, boundless joy.
The three mountains and five peaks — all roamed throughout —
rescuing those with affinity, saving them through the Way.
Grieving over the Three Periods' final tribulation affairs —
lacking those with ability to help shoulder the work.
Chattering away — pillars holding their will firm —
together supporting this good time, steering the Dharma vessel.
Set to the tune: "The Great Wall." Ha ha, stop!
To love — a human heart of love and compassion;
to cherish — to pity and not yet reach out to help the worthy.
Public loyalty, serving the country — responsibility must come first;
the treasures of the world fill the world with fragrance.
Clearly understand the true wonder within the Way —
the deep and wondrous true principle — of itself you will know it.
Do not call yourself a clever and intelligent person —
great wisdom appears foolish — become the worthy one.
Great skill appears clumsy, the sharp edge is concealed —
take on the heavy and go far — practice the Great Way.
See what is ahead with clear foresight, distinguishing right from wrong —
bright eyes observe — down to the finest autumn hair.
Analyze the true principle without anything not penetrated —
look at the affair — as clear as looking at the palm of your hand.
I especially urge my worthy disciples — a few words:
carry the Way, understand the wonder — transform your fellow people.
When using common property in this Way,
be especially careful and thoughtful in what you hold.
The meaning of "care for the common property" — think on it carefully;
penetrate its words and open the hidden seedlings.
"Love" means: cherish it with love, do not waste it;
"care for" means: preserve it carefully, do not throw it away carelessly.
"Public" means: what you and I can both use;
"property" means: articles and instruments — this is what it includes.
Common property is kept at the public altar —
whoever uses it must report and inform.
Books of scripture, tables, and chairs given by people —
all of these are common property — know this clearly.
Or the merit-work of the Way-brothers and sisters —
these should be listed as items under the common-property rules.
The local altar master receives and keeps them —
items of great responsibility are passed upward.
Never consider them worthless and pay no attention;
also, never take even one thread for yourself.
All things, high and low, are like straw dogs —
carried by the earth, rained upon by heaven's rain and dew.
Heaven and earth view all things as one body —
sages and I — one seedling of spirit.
Public heart, public mind, the public as first —
of themselves you will be honored through ten thousand ages.
When something should be used, do not be stingy —
only then can you be called a great worthy and hero.
When something should not be used, do not be careless —
keep it like a precious pearl.
Protect and care for even one needle and one thread —
do not let the thought of throwing it away arise.
Careless and negligent in using common property —
the thought of caring for and cherishing it — all sunk in the swamp.
Breaking it or forgetting to put it away —
so that items are lost or damaged.
Unable to examine and reflect on it with added effort —
know this: fault and error will cling around the body.
Common property taken for personal storage —
the thought of saving others — completely gone.
It becomes a personal possession for one's own household use —
when someone is in urgent need — the heart is not troubled.
Placed there vaguely, as if nothing was heard —
the foundation of such a person has not yet been deeply made.
Common property — care for it — know the meaning;
those above practice it, and those below naturally follow the example.
Care for the common property — it saves expenses;
it spares the money and labor of people.
Furthermore — in urgency it relieves worry and trouble;
it removes the heart-fire and rising of violent temper.
It also adds blessings and reduces faults;
and it can transform people — merit and virtue are drawn in.
If this rule and regulation is not followed,
and things are seen as easily obtained without needing labor —
damage not strictly guarded against;
the future path will be blurred and obscure.
Unable to repent of the error — truly pitiful;
the sin committed in days ahead — it may be hard to dissolve.
A small fault, uncorrected, accumulates into a great one;
in days ahead, death — hard to ascend the heavenly bridge.
My worthy disciples — is it hard to really practice this?
The only fear is that the multitude's heart does not encompass it.
And so the fault is made and you fall down —
and it is hard to sit on the lotus seat and attest to the heavenly court.
And now in the Three Periods' final tribulation days —
establishing merit and building virtue is the most important thing.
How many stubborn children do not know to be in awe —
what they do is crooked and strange.
Stubbornly following their own lone course, letting themselves sink —
arrogant and conceited, the energy rising in pride.
Thinking themselves great and acting above their position —
know that in the days ahead, the karmic retribution will come.
Holding fixed views, finding it hard to change mistakes —
creating faults and difficulties — confined in the darkest court.
The obstinate, overbearing heart — hardest to transform;
it may fall and sink — you bring this suffering on yourself.
I hope my disciples each think and contemplate carefully —
your teacher's sincere compassion — speaking true words.
Together carry the Way, proclaiming in heaven's name —
dissolve the catastrophe and rescue the clamoring world.
Proclaim and spread the ultimate principle, lay out great virtue —
together steer the Dharma vessel and hold the rudder.
The four seas with affinity — together lift each other;
reach our true destination.
Do not disappoint the heart of the Compassionate Mother hanging in care;
together celebrate this good time — return to the jade isle.
The teaching words end here, at this paragraph. Tomorrow if there is opportunity, the words will be composed again.

Rule Fourteen: Be Lively and Responsive
皇母慈賜佛規第十四條:活潑應事
Delivered by Ji Gong (Dao-Ji Chan Master)
The Way's movements hang like signs, displaying the hexagram principle —
heroes supporting the mandate, assisting the Three Periods.
Saving people — steering the boat, setting right the Southern Continent —
worthy ones set their will, ascending the heavenly ladder.
Under the Chan forest bamboo — contemplating the ultimate principle;
supporting the endangered and the toppling — distinguishing substance and emptiness.
The teacher's heart holds the holy virtue;
bearing the great mandate — the foundation of the Tathagata.
I am the Dao-Ji Chan Master, by the Eternal Mother's mandate, descend to the altar pool.
The world sinking, the day darkening —
the lost disciples sleep, still sweet.
How to know the disasters are linked.
Thunder strikes the vicious and stubborn —
the world is reset once more.
The great disaster is here before the eyes —
waves rolling, turning over.
Buried in a dream, the men.
One slip — repentance comes too late.
Those with affinity — quickly awaken, set your will, establish your merit —
together attest to the lotus seat.
Set to the tune: "Su Wu Tending Sheep." Ha ha, stop!
The color of spring, fragrant and aromatic —
a lively heart, a jade-clear nature — the awakening wisdom preserved.
Responding to the flow without sluggishness or delay —
half the effort, twice the result — add your care and devotion.
The spring wind, auspicious — the green grass deep and blue —
true principle flourishing, the wondrous principle raised high.
The Great Way of the Three Periods saves the four seas —
the group of heroes together proclaim and broadcast.
Walk the great virtue, tread your position —
work hard, be frugal — be loyal and good.
Bathe the heart and receive virtue — nurture humaneness and righteousness;
the ultimate principle transforms the world, saving the declining and wild.
One heart, not two — heaven and human merge —
atop the pole, day after day rising — steering the Dharma vessel.
Accord with the heart of heaven, complete the holy work —
rescue the confused child — return to the homeland.
To accomplish this great Way, the heart's labor is expensive —
fulfill your vow and then enjoy freedom without limit.
To be lively and responsive is most important;
the jade-clear heart assists the White Sun.
Know the principle clearly — penetrate to the very bottom;
think clearly on the meaning — push and analyze in detail.
"Lively" means: quick, clever, well-set;
"responsive" means: round and smooth, without angle or corner.
"Respond" means: respond and receive all kinds of affairs;
"affairs" are things and matters — fixed in what is true and constant.
"Lively and responsive" — learn this well —
a puppet or wooden figure is a foolish person.
This is the good conscience that awakens people —
no matter who has something inside them.
In carrying and practicing the Way, liveliness and response is valued —
lively and responsive: inspiring, clear, and bright.
If in practicing the Way you notice something lacking —
immediately supplement and round it out, without wandering.
If in carrying the Way an affair should be done —
act quickly and work hard — do not waste good time.
This is the true meaning of this Rule;
guard it and practice the Way — surely it will prosper.
All because good conscience has long been submerged —
therefore it is hard to let the light shine out.
Seek the teacher's guidance and awakening —
and never again fall confused into the yellow millet dream.
If in practicing the Way you lack liveliness and response —
how can you respond to affairs and repay the Eternal Mother?
Lose this lively and responsive opportunity for one day —
and it is also hard to maneuver and transform the eight directions.
If you feel the future is a great and important burden —
quickly act and assist the teacher's heart.
Clever and intelligent — respond to this era;
embrace the Way and stir up the confused — opening up the wilderness.
When urgency arises, save them — spare them suffering;
when difficulty comes, it can also be transformed into good fortune.
Practicing it — of yourself you will feel benefits beyond counting;
these words from the spirit-writing board are not empty deception.
If you encounter trials — respond to the affairs;
otherwise the secrets of heaven will be exposed.
When you meet a stranger with a question at the time —
to examine the hidden depths is also possible — guard against it.
The antelope hangs its horns — emerge from the realm;
the tiger's tail, spring ice — the heart is unperturbed.
Fish eyes mixed with pearls — you can tell them apart;
stacked eggs in urgent danger — no fear or panic.
People wishing to fish in muddy waters —
you can also see through their heart.
With this — what difficult affairs are there?
Of yourself you can enjoy happiness and peace.
Not knowing how to be lively and responsive in your actions —
learning to act like a swallow in a stately hall.
The praying mantis catching the cicada — not knowing to guard against danger —
when a trial comes, there is a confused scramble.
Encountering someone who asks questions —
speaking of secret matters, discussing short and long.
How can one respond to affairs and save people?
Great disaster will draw in toward the body.
Each think and reflect with added care —
I offer these few words gathered into this chapter.
The prime years gone — hard to return;
the face entirely changed — truly tragic.
Birds fly, rabbits run — time hard to hold long;
each clarify the precious, and know it early.
Only in establishing merit and virtue — the highest vehicle;
only then can you escape the bitter ocean of suffering.
A single hair holding a thousand catties — pressing before your eyes;
do not delay — endure the wind and frost.
The heart firm enough can pierce stone — this is seen as easy;
forever be the living diamond of Ultimate Joy.
If in foolishness and stubbornness you remain confused and lost —
under heaven's anger, you will incur disaster yourself.
A good opportunity to meet this era again —
the White Sun's time — hard to encounter again.
Each follow their own responsibility and guard it diligently —
never let thoughts arise that bring broad guilt.
Good words — tell all to add your contemplation;
together assist the teacher's shoulder — learn from the worthy.
The standard-pole, through ten thousand ages, has never changed —
leaving your name for ten thousand ages as the great main pillar.
If you slip and fall down —
what a pity: ten thousand disasters of pitiable suffering.

Rule Fifteen: Guard Your Words and Watch Your Steps
皇母慈賜佛規第十五條:謹言慎行
Delivered by Ji Gong the Living Buddha
The spring wind thaws the frozen earth, thunder awakens the hibernating insects —
the vast sea changes — a thousand ages transform.
The summer color blue and green — peach and plum contending —
the sun of heaven illuminates the world, everywhere soaring.
The autumn wind — rustling — the wutong leaves fall —
the clear moon alone shines, the sky full of stars.
Winter brings severe frost — clothes cut, the cold is bitter —
the ancient temple on the cold mountain — the bell-sound transmits.
I am Ji Gong the Living Buddha, by the Eternal Mother's mandate, descend to the altar steps.
The Eternal Mother — clearly compose the training words.
A solitary boat, following the wind, launches and begins the journey —
the beautiful sun on the eastern mountain illuminates the blue mountain.
A gentle breeze blows softly over the face —
the morning dew, heavy fog — dense and thick.
The horizon's road is far and the mountains high —
watching the green grass and tree groves.
Only sighing at the living beings, all confused children —
in the dream of the Southern Branch, they sleep, blurred.
The heart holds one point of compassion —
the four seas calling out to rescue and save.
Hoping all the heroes will join shoulders and move forward.
Set to the tune: "My Lovely Home." Ha ha, stop!
Guard your advance toward your future — ascend the jade terrace;
in words and actions, look after the other — embody it in your heart.
Think carefully and examine clearly — guard the Way-thought;
flowing clouds and running water — hold to purity.
I urge my worthy disciples — hold the Way-thought;
sweep out the evil and destroy the demons — assist the teacher's shoulder.
One word cannot exhaust the language of the heart —
hesitating, unable to decide — the mind in confusion.
The state of the world — hot and cold — how to compare it?
The customs of the world grow worse daily — truly pitiable.
The road is steep and crooked — wolves and jackals gather;
doubts and tangles unresolved — forever stubborn.
Human life has its limits;
living beings creating sins — accumulated, hard to count.
In the span of a hundred years — empty confused dream —
like a silkworm making a cocoon — wrapping yourself.
Good time — once past — it will be hard to return;
why not think deeply about the consequences?
How many sins of the mouth have been made — great crimes —
in the Three Periods' final tribulation — suffering hardship and difficulty.
Or three hearts and two minds,
or body and heart with interruptions.
To guard your words and watch your steps — most important;
warn all the heroes — guard firmly and hold steady.
This Rule — for the Way it is most weighty;
briefly compose its meaning on the spirit-writing board.
"Guard" is: speak your words — think carefully first;
"words" are: language and speech — heavy as a mountain.
"Watch" is: tread your path — always holding awe;
"steps" are: holding your practice — reaching the Far Shore.
"Guard your words and watch your steps" — do not forget;
practice it, and in days ahead return to the heavenly court.
Cultivating the Way or carrying and practicing the Way —
this Rule is a treasure — hold it by your side.
Once words have left the mouth, the principle is already fixed —
do not lose trust and bring blame and resentment.
Trust is the foundation of all affairs;
lose trust — what is easy becomes difficult.
Hold trust — what is difficult feels easy;
this speaking is the true interpretation.
In carrying out heavenly affairs on this Way's board —
do not be loose — the monkey is not tethered.
Those who speak lightly invite people's slander —
one word is worth a thousand in gold — know this fully.
Words that can be spoken — but are hidden back;
this fear of speaking wrongly is not the worthy one.
The fault of missing other people — one has one's own error;
seeing the worthy and not recommending and promoting them.
The fault of speaking wrongly — immensely heavy —
the Way's followers retreat — heaven is not lenient.
The root of the mouth not yet purified — the tongue must be pulled out;
the retribution is extremely severe — know this fully.
The noble person does not lose the worthy within the Way;
and furthermore does not lose their own words.
Conceal evil and raise up the good — hold both ends;
use the center for the people — spread through the four seas.
The Way of the noble person has four aspects —
and even the sage Confucius has not yet fully learned them.
As a son serving a father, as a younger brother serving an elder —
as a minister serving a ruler, helping and shouldering friends.
These four are the noble person's constant Way —
unable to fully accomplish them — a feeling of regret.
Ordinary virtue in practice, ordinary words in care —
what is insufficient must be strengthened.
Words match deeds, deeds match words —
earnestly practicing to completion: people's praise on all sides.
What "watch your steps" means — drawing on a prior example:
words and actions must connect — do not let them be separate.
Words must be followed by action — trust comes first;
only then is what you have done truly called good.
Words going east, running west — that is thoughtlessness;
mouth saying one thing, heart thinking another — that is a stubborn evil.
Bringing guilt upon yourself — receive it yourself;
you cannot blame others or complain to heaven.
Watch your steps in all affairs — with reverent care;
like treading thin ice, as if standing at the edge of a deep abyss.
Where practice is not yet sufficient — add your effort;
reaching Ultimate Joy and the immortal village: return.
When your own duty is complete — what more is there to say?
Of yourself you will be consoled and receive happiness.
As a teacher, be even more careful —
use these rules as a standard, and attest to the lotus seat.
Lead those who came after you along the Great Way —
when words are spoken, people trust — the affair touches heaven.
Questions and answers — flowing, without constraint;
if errors are made but cannot be corrected —
those who came after observe and learn from this —
the result: too dreadful to imagine.
One person falls — ten thousand fall;
how can there be no awe, no strict caution?
Furthermore: if in carrying the Way there is a lack of care —
great disaster will immediately arrive before your eyes.
Once you slip and fall — repentance comes too late;
in your own heart, do not act like a foolish, stupid person.
Practice it — heaven above will surely help you —
the divine and human merged as one: the Way of Pervading Unity.
Going against principle, acting wildly and in confusion —
surely the Five Thunders will come and censure the body.
Add your thinking and contemplating of heaven's heart and will —
be your own standard-pole: handed down through ten thousand ages.
The heart upright — its words naturally harmonious;
words harmonious — practice them and spare yourself worry and trouble.
Stand upright in the world — in all affairs be careful;
weighty words, a long heart — entrusted in this scroll.
I hope my worthy disciples penetrate the meaning of this teaching;
with this, the words are complete — the planchette returns, this scroll is finished.

By the Patriarch Lü Dongbin, Pure Yang Emperor
A verse says:
The movement of the times has reached its hour — the true principle opens;
through ancient and present, the true mechanism cultivates the good and worthy.
The Great Way is raised and proclaimed, penetrating the four seas —
penetrate to the hidden depths and see the Tathagata.
Verse of exhortation:
Wake your awakened eyes — sound the golden bell early and ring it.
I urge all people: sincerity and reverence — hold them firm and close.
Embrace the Way and save the world — save others, hold the helm.
The Three Periods' final day — the great disaster has come.
The time is now — the Immortals and Buddhas arrive at the eastern lands.
Proclaiming and developing what ancient times left unexplained in its mystery.
Receiving the mandate, moving with the times — bearing the mandate, rushing through the dusty work.
While this good time lasts — the Way not yet fully displayed —
see the opportunity and act — set the will to transcend the bitter sea.
Establish merit and build virtue — this time it is most important —
merit complete, fruit full — Ultimate Joy, and ease forever.
Wash the heart and cleanse the mind — cultivate the body and cherish virtue and height.
Hold the heart of a newborn child — pollution and filth do not cling.
Hide the brilliance and nurture the obscurity — let light illuminate the four seas.
The six roots pure and clean — the Buddha-nature will shine brilliantly.
All living beings — in this moment, look carefully.
Your own body safe and secure — you must think of your fellow people.
Spring flowers and autumn moon — how many times over how many years?
Raise the Way and save others — the red heart surges to the cloud-tops.
Lift yourself up, lift others up — together clarify the true root-field.
Reach yourself, help others reach — take each other's hand and return to the heavenly court.
The vine grows, growing on and on — ten thousand ages, connected forever.
The Nine Generations and Seven Ancestors — together their hearts wait for their children and grandchildren.
If the body achieves the Way — lift your ancestors out of the bitter abyss.
Once fallen — you weep and cry in vain.
The work of the Three Realms — the practitioner's name is inscribed on the register.
Fear and shrink back — ten thousand ages of mockery and reproach.
Empty heart and false intention — lightning strikes the body — it cannot escape.
Golden and stone good words — telling all so they may know.
Do not take these as the shallow and ordinary songs of the age.
A few words and sentences — the earlier portion was the introduction.
Following this — the epilogue — all listen to the composition.
When the transcription of this text into a book has been completed — all worthy people of the Way: hold a strong will, practice the Way, and take the Fifteen Buddha Rules as paramount. Hold them firm in your heart, constantly proclaim them. Though the mountain passes are long and distant, practicing them — of yourself you will feel safe and well. Wishing to practice the Great Way and reach the Far Shore: though it is arduous, it is not impossible. Diligently keeping the Buddha Rules, with principle as the first priority — even if difficulties come, heaven will be moved by your sincerity, and naturally misfortune will be turned to good fortune.
And now in the Three Periods' final days, many cultivators gaze at the sky from the bottom of a well, or see the leopard through a tube — not knowing the danger of life and death. Some covet ease and comfort, unable to spread the heart of humaneness. They watch with folded arms — not the slightest compassion, seeing death and not rescuing it, unmoved — therefore it is hard to spread the Way and save the world, causing obstructions and failures. Furthermore, without fierce will — the heart holds fear, shrinks back and does not advance — delaying the holy work greatly, without any remorse at all.
The Eternal Mother grieves, thinking of the lambs who do not know their own danger, and pardons all their sins entirely. May they turn their heart back to heaven, turn the human will around, and together ascend the Far Shore. She has specially commanded your teacher Ji Gong to move the planchette and compose training words, warning all the children of the Way: truly practice — that is the fortunate thing. Do not imitate the stubborn child's fixed obstinacy, their numbness and loss of feeling. The traces of the sages will lead you onto the heavenly bridge. If you hold virtue high in your heart — what disaster need be feared?
If you are able to understand the true meaning of the Buddha Rules, and having observed this book you grasp its substance — if you do not act on it, it is of no use whatsoever. I hope all fellow cultivators, altar masters, and people of talent: if the Buddha Rules are not understood, how can you lift yourself up and lift others up, and fulfill the vast vow? Ten thousand living beings rest in your hands. You should emulate the brave courage of the ancient sages, develop and raise the spirit of righteousness, repay heaven's grace, bear the great responsibility, and serve in the Tathagata's office — then you will not disappoint the Eternal Mother's bitter heart.
This is the Epilogue.
I am the Pure Yang Emperor (Lü Dongbin). Today I have received the mandate and come specially to compose this epilogue — this book is now complete. Add your efforts to proclaim it and rescue the confused children. Together clarify the heart and nature, and reach the Far Shore. Do not disappoint the bitter heart of the Eternal Mother, of your teacher, and of the Immortals and Buddhas.
The words end here — put away the planchette, return to the palace of Ultimate Joy.

《佛規諭錄》一書是活佛師尊奉 皇母慈命,為闡釋《十五條佛規》的真義,在民國六十年歷經十五次臨壇,所慈悲批示完成的訓文。
或許有許多白陽修士未能體會十五條佛規之重要性,也不瞭解十五條佛規之真實義。或因年久歲遠,眾人已漸漸淡忘此十五條佛規,因此事隔廿六年後,由漢鍾離大仙及恩師濟公活佛奉 皇母慈命共三度借竅臨壇,以白話方式再次闡述十五條佛規之真義,與精粹意涵。
漢鍾離大仙說:『小看這十五條佛規,它是非常好的天梯,照著去做,成佛有餘。』
呂祖慈悲(序一)
蓋聞離婁之明 公輸子之巧 不以規矩 不能成方圓 師曠之聰 不以六律 不能正五音 堯舜之道 不以仁政 不能平治天下 乃言 各事各物 皆有一定之原則 例說行海航空奔途亦各一定之沿線 倘無線路 難以達到目的地 然而道乃萬乘主宰 至尊至貴 豈無規律否
皇中早佛規十五條 定規之意 恐怕修道諸佛子 無規矩方圓之則 混攙左道 致使累墬之故 方定此佛規十五條 佛規定出也久 聞之者千千萬萬 其能精進者 之晨星之寥若 實蓋寡矣 天有好生之德
皇中掛懷修道之人 未能畏此三期之浩劫 而輕視佛規 致使墜落 又命爾師濟顛 搖鷥垂訓 將佛規之意 籌策成書 勉勵修道同仁 躬行實踐 力篤猛行 共達彼岸 循踐禮門義路 廣佈大道於四海 何患有何劫哉 然而道親 未能識穿佛規之底蘊致成遲怠差之千里 失之毫厘之事 上下相謬 前後破裂之事故 耽誤三曹之偉業 自棄前程
皇娘憂心萬分才頒演佛規諭錄 是書註明佛規之真意 言又短促 凡道中諸位道親 均可得此一書 空閒時參閱之 日夜參悟 加功前進 立具標杆準繩 以啟後覺良賢 方不負
皇中浩恩 爾師之苦衷 是為序 吾本

中令諭 降至興一法壇 批示此序 言到此處 明早當有一篇序言再垂沙盤 辭叩

呂祖慈悲(序二)
世道頽敗 日趨於污流 天下陷溺 欲援之以道 眾皆知也 且今三期末刼 災煞頻降 非天道難救殘靈 共出於水火 道含天地 貫遍四海 巍巍大哉 規嚴則慎 豈得含忽否 皆因修道之士 未能全心致志 竭力盡誠 聞而不進 知而不行 有何益哉 思己身為人師 豈無警惕之心否 又因浩劫溺世 欲行大道 扶危濟困 必先洞悉其明路 以佛規為重 佛規若曉 行之事覺容易 否則 智勇貫天 亦不足其大矣 欲顯大道之威嚴 須遵行佛規 倘若不然 難挽頑童 醒覺金線矣
皇中以仁為旨 眾豈無慈悲之念
中因三期 恐修道同仁 未能己立立人 同達彼岸 致使墜落之故 差下仙佛神聖 批訓垂鷥 難計其數 全心行之 治天下易如反掌 教民易如穿針 無須費心血枉勞受苦 末劫之機 大眾怕須發揮惻隱之心 體懷
皇中之大德 合力共行 前後相應 天下之戾氣 日日而消 浩然之正氣 自能貫滿三千 共慶白陽時年 血氣方剛之士 聞知
中心 若不慟於衷 堪遭天譴 永墜地獄矣 今時批示此書命名 佛規諭錄 書內批明 是規之真意 應如何遵守 作者結果如何 不行者 終歸何場 一一而語 若置之似無聞 視之似無見 皆難逃脫三災與八難寄望諸眾當念

仙風道骨妙微奧 佛心返樸樂逍遙

金剛志立青雲愿 日月爭輝耀萬年
剛毅木訥行四海 渡盡九洲諸有緣
秦鏡高懸是非辨 光明正大乃良賢
道真理真天命真 仙佛亦同此語言
是性亦真皆無誤 參透此句之妙玄
學道性理皆有師 無師怎能授秘傳
三人同行有吾師 擇善而從改不善
仙佛本是師之長 修道惟賴佛助肩
竭求仙佛暗加護 敬之豈有無誠虔
仙佛果超三千界 無極天上樂自然
應體佛規尊仙佛 得魚怎可忘其筌
過河拆橋必自斃 上天之眼鑒明全
敬神無違存畏懼 鬼神之事重如山
其祭如在吾身邊 祭神如神在眼前
仙佛無形且無相 時刻鑑視否有偏
尊是尊其大德澤 敬者服其慈悲念
觀音曾發七二愿 誓渡四海之有緣
地藏也曾立大誓 定拔鬼魂全離淵
仙佛慈憫心欽服 體之誠心無二念
不敬仙佛倘可以 有所藐視難回天
根基功德若勝神 藐視亦無招罪愆
頑徒自己招寃孽 時至天譴怎避難
為師荷擔三曹命 惟賴諸徒共助肩
修此天道勿鬆懈 無時之間守慎嚴
迴光返照復省察 又如倦鳥而知還
事事三思而後行 行踐天理以報天
時勢轉變皆非古 豺聲狼嘯令人寒
立身抱道現於世 念念孜習師之傳
前程速奔結美果 否則泡影灰一般
薪火相傳易接引 師徒之心繫相連
望徒多加努力辦 開啟茅塞渡上岸
效法顏淵守拳拳 邱祖餓死志不遷
先難後易理當定 能有決志天護全

遵道躬行毅力揚 前功魁元登金榜
提攜迷徒共上岸 後者當體爾師腸
玉衡旋轉訓語評 誡告賢契速奔程
天時急切加鞭進 先難後易放光明
居於下位乃人徒 勿援攀上貪虛榮
前賢後學人各有 前後相連一心印
後者敬前理何異 前人提後彼岸登
正己而後求諸人 自無怨天尤人生
後學低心與下氣 勿可頃高氣不平
懇切求上而指示 稟遵無違加力行
自悟至理報師恩 揚道化人四海拯
前者寬容必謙恭 循循善謻勿逞凶
導教後學習正理 行無愧心乃賢英
大德化眾自作則 立其標杆定準繩
前後和睦事易辦 規矩行全助長弓
為道之旨公為懷 公理揚世滿塵東
天地生物貴賤育 雨露垂降潤長生
大道降世為拯迷 使其明己之心性
明師一指開金鎖 萬般玄機能見清
玄蘊秘訣真諦得 出由正戶了死生
大道若存有私想 怎能揚傳四海行
當抱濟世利人志 匿道之寶罪甚重
獨善其身難了脫 怎能成道顯英名
無為真傳師肩負 覓尋賢良返天庭
青雲之志眾必效 老當益壯顯威風
勇志決心化萬難 勿負師心母親情
三乘品蓮自己選 行功立德方可證
良機難逢萬勿錯 啟瞶振聾示正宗
倘若自暴與自棄 陷落難拔之苦坑
謂己難辦乃大錯 天地生民體皆同
推三阻四畏首尾 大難一到輪迴中
身負大愿當知曉 更有誓言如山重
自己墜落猶小可 九玄七祖同遭鎔
一念之差鑄大錯 自己悔錯堪傷情
澘然淚下有何益 趁今佳期早立功
後者行道師肩助 符合天意而順風
頑徒自造罪茱報 時至寃魂纒身靈
前賢以德為保己 施之於人人欽敬
自能化醒無知輩 作立標榜垂聖名
望徒各自思仔細 速速行道返天宮
倘若不聽為師勸 墜落萬丈之牢籠
時存畏懼加反省 如臨深淵屐薄冰

不偏不倚中庸理 立正四海遍八方
齊者齋也戒自己 嚴省其行謂之莊

儒子衣冠必齊整 衣衫襤褸非賢良
齊莊中正禮必守 修道方可謂賢良
孔聖齊者有明衣 寢衣一身有半長
齋必變食居遷坐 聖人註定無渺茫
衣冠禮教為根本 欲行大道守真常
行道立足站穩當 勿可輕易逐波浪
修此天道遵正理 居之正位樂無疆
禮教嚴整紀勿廢 行之方能全其綱
齊莊中正未能盡 怎顯威嚴助法航
領袖人師當謹慎 存於正理以扶匡
領導後學履大道 自身修之以化旁
真道威嚴醒迷昩 切勿自己招罪殃
足以己立而立人 揚道濟世助法航
以理行之道應守 勿可違規背訓章
道立三界尊為主 能照十方拯賢良
倘若迷昩自靈性 天法難容惡頑郎
甘滅天良妄作惡 日後地獄遭淒涼
行之功成而名留 永受人門敬火香
下蔭子孫上拔祖 攜手同超苦汪洋
若是阻此正道顯 遺臭萬年人人謗
九玄七祖同遭累 子孫一概墜泉黃
身為人師若有偏 當知罪大如天廣
皆因後覺追隨進 自身難正怎扶匡
一人墜下萬人落 豈無罪過纒身旁
當有誓愿對天發 心無畏懼非棟樑
大道之旨爾亦曉 道之宗風爾亦詳
自性若超三天外 後學齊能受榮光
一絲相連皆無異 非是為師亂批講
君子內實外無華 內聖圓滿外王剛
發揚濟世之真旨 合拯九洲之善郎
定助天盤代天闡 以身作則樂無疆
立竿見影勿怠懈 以免怒氣掃禎祥
己身若有德恩大 人皆欽服助道揚
不治而安言而信 四海一家皆欽仰
望契多加努力進 代天化人念蒼皇

地無規律理何在 無理怎能載山川
怎生萬物以育人 存位悠久且長遠
人無規矩堪可憐 乾坤混雜亂亂攙
定遭不測赴劫流 赤地千里轉荒烟
規矩方圓有定律 殊途同歸此一玄
末劫湮沒正氣理 蜂目滿世令人寒
俊傑豪士志速立 暮鼓晨鐘啟愚頑
懸樑刺股立大愿 宏興正道發誠虔
念茲在茲勿鬆懈 焚膏繼晷加仙鞭
廢寢忘食勤宣化 朝乾夕惕拯有緣
思己身捨三天化 欲挽頽風非易言
當有大志以貫天 否則難免被邪染
行此天道須明覺 規矩方圓勿絕斷
事無規矩難完整 失此規矩大如天
自己守定明心性 行之事事皆完善
以身作則先鋒位 己達達人拯有緣
規矩比之似明路 路明人行皆無偏
一旦失此規與矩 如人目盲懼深淵
循守行之天定助 仙佛護爾得悠安
頑童裝若無其事 毀其規律任意前
泥沼井窟與糞坑 待其歡心而墜陷
燃眉之急未知覺 船到江心補漏難
暴虎馮河乃愚輩 朝不保夕未知全
千鈞一髮眼前至 思己身穩如泰山
三災八難掃空後 怨天尤人淚滿面
上天若然無護助 法寶萬千無一般
賢契開啟智慧性 亦能體會天心田
有為合力而奮發 以理為標達故圓
任勞任怨再接勵 卧薪嘗胆忍苦難
立志決戰萬魔陣 百屈不撓勇沖天
披肝瀝胆無畏難 赴湯蹈火任行前
修道行道諸徒契 速速實遵規之言
天地循轉出聖人 亦賴規矩付他肩
大道運行若無規 日久自能起怠倦

多因貪戀酒色財 自棄性命堪可憫
三期金風掃世界 滿處佈劫氣森森
為師身領三曹命 普渡八方仙鬼人
陳跡不堪回首憶 思來憂心又如焚
如坐針氈心怎靜 日夜流淚濕衣襟
觀此塵世頽風敗 一切人心拋五倫
故行大道濟四海 行道之賢有責任
所謂責任當知曉 仁為己責須詳聞
行道若無責與任 怎駕法航濟善信
難報祖德與母恩 日後先天無蓮品
責任為重思明曉 領袖點傳負肩身
壇主人才亦一體 各有天責於身存
領袖居位為人師 行道立則後賢遵
點傳代師而傳道 一指玄關化迷津
壇主駕船行天下 宣揚至理消劫氛
搖舟載眾往極樂 若逢有緣必渡引
人才承命辦天道 勿懼苦難與艱辛
頂天立地聖業建 合乎上下報娘親
各人之責各人有 行之建功沾天恩
領袖行道有失誤 後賢聞之定退心
怎作為人之師表 後日有過罪招身
點傳領命而傳道 背誓難脫此劫運
若棄大愿難得赦 罪貫滿盈天難忍
壇主駕舟行大道 日夜謹守行必慎
一日觀風帆使錯 所載眾生成幽魂
人才辦道規當曉 行持正義扶三春
退怠之心若起念 九玄七祖墜沉淪
知者無不戰兢兢 詳觀末劫掃紅塵
頑童硬性固執守 賢者明哲足保身
行此天道代天化 超拔玄祖上瑤琳
行者心守畏懼念 勿使過錯纒心身
補苴罅漏在此際 合力共行向前進
因地制宜機當守 切莫無主覓紛紛
土志可殺勿可辱 丈夫之懷能屈伸
行道受難與非命 返轉極樂喜難云
若是畏懼退三舍 受人譏謗與譭論
殺辱兩班觀清楚 天堂地獄須明分
當仁不讓於師長 功德不建人奪侵
佳期少壯功未立 年老跺足乃愚人
韶華若逝空搥胸 恐難逢此好良辰
若是無責且畏任 貪圖閒暇過三春
上天難容無慈輩 日後先天難安身
各自思量方為可 實地而行助師尊
報了中恩與師德 方稱忠孝大賢人

非是不學而能知 足驚一地實剛強

重聖輕凡人必守 此理賢契體心腸
所謂重聖而輕凡 內中真意應參詳
重者注重勿可廢 聖基立定化萬邦
輕者少數而為之 凡業為副聖全量
行道若照此意抱 終歸皆能出汪洋
此乃是規之真意 辦道行道守此綱
十分之中取其六 曉行夜宿化愚郎
四分辦其後天業 否則難了爾愿章
觀今辦道之諸子 顧凡而棄聖業忘
若說凡業精神振 說起開荒言身忙
論爾貪渡好良辰 人生難脫此無常
無常一到萬有捐 說起心忙枉心腸
重聖言之乃宜重 應要行之勿渺茫
輕凡言之乃小事 勿可牽連掛心上
聖業宜重須知曉 定下大志堅心向
凡事宜輕乃小我 若未識破乃愚郎
若有聖事待爾作 勿因凡事繞身旁
智慧劍斬妖魔陣 丈六金剛放明光
俊傑立志於四海 摩頂放踵救善良
身勞功迥位冠頂 永作中道大棟樑
擊楫中流甘受苦 萇弘碧血正氣昂
丈夫寧死志不屈 為道身甘投長江
以報中恩了己愿 丹青碑上立標榜
行之上天定無負 九玄七祖朝天蒼
若是畏懼而退志 秃羽蝎蛇自覺涼
袖手旁觀人受苦 暴棄前程心不揚
顧全凡界聖業拋 自己覺之樂無疆
此人天怒而人怨 甘遭天譴地滅亡
禍福全在自己取 天堂地獄勿渺茫
一念之正故園返 一念有偏定身亡
念念純善天地護 定保爾等上仙鄉
若說無凡不養聖 與道斷絕無相往
對道無聞且無問 自私自利心意涼
逃之夭夭至異地 思己身以立穩當
九玄祖先遭受苦 被囚地獄困泉黃
待爾身受劫殺戮 一同地府見閻王
深謀遠計有何益 巧計瞞人難久長
或是隨機而應變 難逃天律鑑昭彰
九幽十冥刑異樣 辯口難證天律強
耽誤聖業事非輕 天命非是兒戲場
所發之愿未能了 仗何面顏會老娘

中流砥柱助三期 天生人傑自地靈

何等自在與安然 永坐品蓮覺榮幸
和藹待下攜提進 良言苦口誡叮嚀
後賢怠受師恩浩 明識皇天師衷情
自然奮勇不顧身 一勇真前立其功
時務觀看勿怠慢 修辦天道非兒童
斟酌體會悟妙意 勿可渺茫而進行
無明之火一炅燃 易焚無極殿梀樑
功德幽林若失火 磨消靈炁成罪靈
修此天道重和氣 辦此天道和為重
修道着怒嗔未改 恐有阻隔事難成
行道一旦人和失 一木大廈恐難撐
倘有疑問否自試 為師沙盤無亂評
忍辱之機藏玄奧 忍氣致祥得安寧
暴氣定然起交鬪 與此勇夫互鬪爭
招來殺身之大禍 怎怨皇天無公平
全在自己一念決 辦道使眾發愿誠
嗔怒後學生異念 危在目前事觀清
平波載舟覆舟速 勿遺其咎落牢籠
善氣迎人人人欽 使賓歸之如家中
定然上和下自睦 何患劫難蕭牆動

自古至今修道笿 德劭為重須知全

惟重天心取人意 一暴十寒皆非賢
三思而行方為可 勿棄奸刁性硬頑
未雨綢繆知其事 防患未然保平安
束身自愛重義理 謹尊仙佛與前賢
教誨從善有何錯 虔心實行理天返
所言勿棄此聖訓 道中諸子參底端
勿者勿可而為作 棄乃拋丟不瞧觀
聖乃聖人或仙佛 訓者諭語或訓篇
必棄聖訓之真意 教人敬重如泰山
躬行其訓順天意 違規自己落深淵
天列三才五行運 天地不語且不言
惟借人云而能曉 言之非輕必識穿
君子存之有三畏 天命大人聖人言
天命勝過皇王旨 何人不畏或懼寒
大人所懷德廣濟 先見之事盡包含
聖人出世為師表 教化無知之女男
三畏不遵修何道 辦道亦恐招罪愆
仙佛若無奉旨意 不敢搖機示沙盤
惟重天命無二意 救苦拯難之慈念
教示訓語苦心寄 敬重惟恐未能前
何敢妄棄於一旁 能行此規天護全
靜心領會其中意 觀畢收藏必慎嚴
以免招考或招難 保其身家樂欣歡
回首求問真天道 賴有前賢催導前
仙佛批語諄諄告 苦口婆心一番番
無處不顧修道者 此恩殺身難報還
故能遵行佛諭語 光明康莊達故園
朝夕無慮患怎至 惟守道理抱拳拳
力篤前進勿退怠 奔波無畏無怠慢
功成名就品蓮坐 名留萬古千秋傳
倘若持己之奸巧 自棄聖業未知轉
身敗名裂受恥辱 枉費心機萬萬般
一理定處三千界 非人能所遷移焉
棄此聖訓失敬重 恐有大難逼眼前
自作大孽不可活 怎怨上天無垂憐
一旦考退後學心 罪上加罪難清算
後悔何及須知曉 知之速改補漏偏
惟今聖訓千萬篇 深淺不一難齊班
深者指導賢人進 淺者開啟眾生念
若是明理加精進 乃成賢人證品蓮
千辛萬苦一一受 櫛風沐雨覺心歡

惟有重聖起慈憫 渡盡有緣登彼岸

大道無形又無相 生育天地日月行
萬物有序萬類含 生人育物規嚴整
無名言之天地始 有名萬物方能生
常任玄牝一點竅 採集天地之精英
德潤十方立為主 視物貴賤一體同
應運時至顯萬奧 玄機足以醒迷童
乃至運滿無留跡 猶如天衣而無縫
大道無形方為妙 真理無相有始終
皇極一切皆有形 形形色色難分清
凡所有相皆虛妄 惟道獨尊萬古定
真機包羅千萬法 人難捉摸觀怎明
海巿蜃檈空批說 虛無之事掛空中
又如長烟白雲散 縹渺杳冥又如風
好比春夢無形跡 形象偽竅道怎通
電光閃閃幾時在 迷童無知猶朦朧
言之又如水中月 好似鮮花映明鏡
眾生難識其底蘊 日夜迷醉沉靈性
四句偈等亦有說 以色見我求音聲
是人欲行邪道術 難睹如來之尊容
豪傑智士猶猛醒 慧眼金光速開睜
自知大千世界假 又見五蘊盡皆空
惟存天道萬古立 普渡四海有緣拯
色身亦假容百年 百年之後須歸終
若明其理加參悟 替天化人闡理明
眾生着象甚可憫 以致彼岸未能登
凡是修道諸賢契 消形滅相道易成
凡夫俗子焉肯信 枉被象累墜苦坑
一旦被相而累死 滿腹苦情難得評
修道若有着形象 枉被相縛困牢籠
枉修天道受苦煉 若轉罪靈廢前功
宜要謹守視無形 能見之物皆成空
是理則信至誠表 何勞人言方能行
天降天命於庶人 並無何物為憑證
若用信物為憑證 人人見之心盡傾
為師真言理無諱 良言直告眾賢英
絕無誑爾能立愿 懸口馮河甘遭凶
皆因形相未打破 枉談烈志與義忠
成果終是泡影位 可惜前功萬里程
其餘不足以多說 幾語能悟返天宮
頑童未能遵此語 自遺其咎入苦坑

所言是規勸大眾 手續必清加參詳
手續乃是證物件 必清之意勿亂狂
列有幾條人當守 於位行之乃賢良
人才代天而宣化 提醒迷童與愚郎
身家清白方可引 渡迷求點開玄黃
壇主掌壇法船駕 一心堅牢勿改向
方針抱定拔錨駛 於道手續必明詳
道親若交功德費 一分一文記明章
來清去白手續明 步步而升規律長
點傳傳道規應知 若違佛規自招殃
嚴行戒慎念勿誤 以免罪過緾身旁
領袖代交功德費 一文忘記有虛誑
佛家視此一文銀 比之須彌山之王
妄用公款罪極大 濫用公金天牢藏
故而失慎亦勿可 日夜思察放明光
日暮途窮四處伏 行道諸眾加提防
來清去白勿染污 自保身家永安祥
行道辦道整事物 千路行之亦一樣
大道欲行公為首 無才勿可亂誇張
見其不賢必免之 以免造罪怒蒼皇
有其賢哲必提拔 方算有盡功深長
一旦行之天不負 功成名遂受人仰
萬古留傳永不滅 九玄子孫沾榮光
素位盡實人怎謗 勞苦有價記金榜
頑固不行錯佳期 與師無關且無妨
自己作孽自己受 刑罰苦楚自己搪
修道若被邪魔誑 改觀修道大志向
日後果報亦須曉 遭刼剁成肉醬湯
行道若是羡旁門 自棄前程逐波浪
日後久果亦必曉 萬刼難翻甚慘傷
天堂地獄分兩路 明暗坦崎分清方
行暗上天助其緣 行明上天助其強
各行各愿無關連 賢哲思之足立當
為此天道勿畏却 四海同胞連心腸
視人之苦猶己般 拔此良善脫汪洋
否則錯時悔恐晚 無功怎能見慈娘
手續必清略參悟 明者加行輔白陽

辦道奉師之承命 召而遠方盡其心
欲行之時報前賢 定於何時欲起身
懇求前賢而指示 如何而作方能順
得受前賢指點後 時時刻骨而銘心
行之毅力而幹辦 勿畏勞苦與艱辛
事畢速返勿怠慢 勿可貪戀誤良辰
回歸當面報前賢 言語情形勿瞞隱
以使長上心無慮 辦道負責無辜恩
亦可解談困難事 大眾互相可言論
先天言之有盡忠 才算賢英一傑人
上若委事命爾作 推諉違逆辦失勤
或者憤然恕氣生 行之遲延不盡心
草略而為誤時返 回歸有事不說云
隱匿己心實可惱 怎能辦道化迷津
盡忠盡孝人應守 失忠失孝遭沉淪
盡忠盡於彌羅天 盡孝盡於老娘親
父母若在勿遠遊 遊必有方慰長心
其跡應作效古聖 助道化人登慈臻
如何而作應佑曉 抱定勇志振精神
始終如一莫荒廢 牢志行事報天恩
己任若盡可成道 極樂家鄉證蓮品
大志一決效天命 愚公移山在信心
無志小事難得辦 立志易建大功勳
若是頑性逆天命 自招大禍而降臨
天堂有路爾不走 地獄門閉硬闖奔
受了孽果之報應 時至淚濕滿衣襟
生死輪迴易轉變 大道難成受迴輪
一旦失足枉前功 如同泡影天上雲
出告返面當應守 人人行之萬古存
前賢提拔後覺醒 當應代師道揚奔
飲水思源恩當報 事行至末勿忘本
行道虔勞無幾載 日後極樂享蓮品
若是知覺速速醒 罪過放之一炬焚
多加努力方為可 以入白陽末三春
知返本源乃良善 標榜留名人人欽
有志上天定無負 行道成之為至尊
三施無畏師肩輔 以盡己責與大任
五大犧牲能取一 可與古聖同名存

是規真義誡大眾 修道行道一心誠
腳踏實地純樸守 好高騖遠非賢英
全心致意虔誠守 貪圖之心乃虛榮
修道只要努力作 休管左旁耀威風
勤修令德品蓮證 以入白陽龍華登
末劫師領三曹令 普渡眾生揚真宗
真理獨一乃無二 萬教歸之為上乘
萬法萬物賴一長 三千之事惟一應
三教而後千門展 千門而後萬教興
既是有興必有滅 強而後弱衰而盛
惟有大道顏未改 亮光煥彩萬世明
聖門宗教則須曉 聞得天道修自性
存心堅志方為可 切勿沾花惹草青
清規守住最為要 方免失足落苦坑
倘若不遵蕩蕩尋 樹高立頂易招風
招風折枝事常有 登高墜下跌得重
若照真理步步進 朝夕安然實能靜
如何而作方不亂 賢契洗耳再細聽
斯時邪魔一一現 七二假祖借名稱
三六弓長將顯出 各顯神人展神通
以假亂真誑騙人 其邪借竅亂其正
言得天花墜滿地 說得滿室放光明
賢契須要防嚴備 勿得邪魔起侵攻
修道壇主或人才 其為心目眼所盯
乘你不備而前至 時刻勿可而放鬆
若見左道之人訪 閉門謝客勿接通
否則聽其語而引 事事善惡一一從
自然惑亂道系統 終歸地獄受苦刑
金線當接切莫斷 一斷性命難保生
自廢偉業萬八載 恐難回天墜幽冥
若遵師言而行持 有事為師擔其凶
二期考道乃修羅 大亂大混考賢聖
信心未定危萬般 稍有未防入牢籠
若是守堅揚道志 一航風順達天宮
任邪說乾喉中涎 吾心穩固泰山定
何愁修道未達愿 何憂行道岸難登
自己切思自能曉 謹以幾言對眾評

於此道中用公物 須要密細斟酌抱
愛惜公物意詳思 悟徹其言啟蘊苗
愛者敬愛勿廢棄 惜乃保惜勿亂拋
公者爾我皆可用 物者物品器具包
公物存之於公壇 任何人用須稟告
人贈經書或桌椅 均乃公物必明曉
或是道親行功物 應列公品之規條
地方壇主代收藏 責重之品往上交
必可視賤則無顧 亦勿專取一絲毫
萬物貴賤猶蒭狗 地載天降雨露澆
天地視物同一體 聖人同我一靈苗
公心公懷公為首 自能萬古得榮耀
該用之時勿吝嗇 才能稱為大賢豪
不該用時勿大意 如珍珠般收藏牢
一針一線保惜全 勿可有心拋九霄
粗心大意用公物 愛惜之念沒沼濠
打毀或者忘收藏 以致物吅損失掉
未能省察加重作 當知過錯身纒繞
公物存之於私囊 濟人之念全然消
成為私家之用品 逢人急時心無焦
茫然置之若無聞 此等根基未深造
公物愛惜意須知 上行而下自然效
愛惜公物可節省 免費銀錢着人勞
再者急時免憂煩 可除心火起暴燥
也可添福而折罪 且能化人功德招
若是不遵此規章 視物易得無須勞
毀損未能加防嚴 前程恐怕微茫渺
未能悔錯堪可憫 造罪日後恐難消
小過難改積成大 日後死難登天橋
賢契實行有何難 只患大眾意未包
而成過錯墜下去 難坐品蓮證天曹
且今三期末刼日 行功立德最為要
多少頑童未知懼 所行之事乃蹊蹺
一意孤行任己墜 愩高自大氣起傲
妄自尊大行越級 當知日後之果報
固執成見罪難改 造成罪過困陰曹
剛愎之心最難化 恐其墜落苦自招
望徒各自細思悟 師衷慈憫真言告
行道共代天宣化 消解劫凶拯塵囂
行宣至理佈大德 共駕法航掌舵艄
四海有緣共提攜 達至爾我真目標
勿負慈娘心掛念 共慶佳期返瓊瑤

行道若是缺活潑 怎能應事報無皇
一日失此活潑機 也難週旋化八方
若覺前程任為重 速速行助師心腸
聰明睿知應斯世 抱道振迷而開荒
逢急能濟免受苦 遇難亦可化成祥
行之自覺益無數 此語沙盤無亂誑
若遇考驗必應事 否則洩漏天機講
逢著陌人問題時 欲察底蘊亦可防
羚羊掛角出境界 虎尾春冰心無慌
魚目混珠亦可曉 累卵之急無恐惶
人欲混水而摸魚 亦可識破他心腸
如此有何困難事 自能快樂享安康
未知活潑而應作 學作燕雀處堂皇
螳螂捕蟬未知防 遇考亂成一場忙
遇逢他人問語時 言說密事論短長
怎能應事而濟人 大禍隨臨於身旁
各自思之加詳悟 謹以幾語集成章
韶華逝矣難重復 面目全非實慘傷
鳥飛兔走時難久 各明其貴早知詳
惟立功德最上乘 方能脫離苦汪洋

人生生涯乃有限 眾生造孽積難算
百年之間空迷夢 如蠶作繭自己纏
良辰一逝恐難返 何不深慮後果焉
多少口業造大罪 三期末劫受苦難
或者三心與兩意 或是身心有間斷
謹言慎行最為要 誡告群英牢守堅
此規於道甚為重 略將其意抄沙盤
謹者說言必細思 言者言語重如山
慎乃履路必存畏 行者行持達彼岸
謹言慎行勿可忘 行之日後回理天
修道或者辦行道 此規為寶持身邊
言語出口理已定 勿可失信招冤愆
信者萬事之根本 失信易事欲作難
持信難事覺易作 此言說出乃真詮
於此道盤辦天事 勿可放鬆猿不栓
輕言之輩招人謗 一言千金須知全
可言之語卻隱匿 此畏失言非良賢
失人之過自有錯 見賢未能提拔荐
失言之過極重大 考退道清天不寬
口根未淨須拔舌 報應甚慘必知全
君子不失道中賢 再者亦不失其言
隱惡揚善執兩端 用中於民四海遍
君子之道共有四 孔丘雖聖未學圓
為子事父弟事兄 為臣事君濟友肩
四者君子之常道 未能盡作覺遺憾
庸德之行庸言謹 有所不足須勉強
言而顧行行顧言 慥慥行盡人人讚
慎行之意引前例 言行必接莫分散
言出必行信為首 所盡之責方稱善
言東奔西乃無慎 口是心非乃惡頑
自己招罪自身受 不能尤人與怨天
慎行其事戰兢兢 如履薄冰臨深淵
行有未足加力行 達至極樂仙鄉返
完己之任餘何說 自能慰申得喜歡
身為人師猶加慎 以此規則證品蓮
領導後學行大道 言出人信事關天
問答如流無拘束 失錯未能改其偏
後學觀之學如此 後果不堪設想焉
一人墜下萬人墜 怎能無畏戒慎嚴
再者辦道失謹慎 大難隨至臨眼前
一旦失足後悔晚 自心莫作痴愚男
行之天上定相助 神人合一成一貫
背理胡行亂亂作 定遭五雷將身譴
多加思悟天心意 自作標竿萬古傳
心正其言自然順 言順行之免憂煩
立身應世事多慎 語重心長寄此篇
望契參透此訓意 言罷收機成此篇

運會時至真理開 古今真機良賢栽
揚發大道四海貫 悟徹底蘊見如來
提機告誡 道中諸賢僚 慧眼速睜 金鐘早打敲
囑咐大眾 心誠多虔牢 抱道救世 救人撐舵艄
三期末日 大劫已然到 目下時至 仙佛臨東郊
闡發亙古 未闡之玄奧 接承應運 領命奔塵勞
趁今佳期道未全顯耀 見機行事 立志苦海超
行功立德斯時最為要 功圓果滿 極樂得逍遙
洗心滌慮淨體懷德高 赤子之心 污穢不染招
韜光養晦 光明四海照 六根清淨 佛性必光耀
芸芸眾生 目下細觀瞧 己身安穩 須當念同胞
春花秋月 幾度有多少 揚道拯人 丹心冲雲宵
己立立人 共明真根田 己達達人 攜手回天朝
瓜瓞(ㄉㄧㄝˊ)綿延 萬古永連苞 九玄七祖 同心盼兒曹
身若成道 拔祖苦淵超 一旦墜落 空自悲嚎啕
三曹聖業 行者名登標 畏懼退縮 萬古受譏笑
虛心假意 雷擊身難逃 金石良言 告眾得知曉
休要認作 淺俗之歌謠 幾語言文 前段為引抄
後再示跋 眾再聽批描 咳
恭批 佛規諭錄
今刻抄文成書已峻,道中諸賢,惟抱壯志,行道謹以十五條佛規為重,堅心牢守,恒心宣揚,關山雖是迢遙,行之自覺安然無恙,欲行大道達至彼岸地,雖然艱辛,也是不足難,勤守佛規以理為首,縱有難至,天亦必因其誠所感動,自然逢凶化吉。
且今三期末日,修道諸子多少以坐井觀天,或者以管窺豹,未知生死之危,一者貪圖安逸,未能宏揚仁人之心。袖手旁觀,毫無惻隱之心,見死不救,無動於衷,故難以揚道而濟世,致使事敗阻隔。再者無猛志,心存畏懼,退縮不前,耽誤聖業不少,全然無悔 。
皇 思念,羔羊無知,盡赦其罪,望能回天心,挽轉人意,共登彼岸,特命爾師濟公,搖鸞批語,誡告道中諸子,實行為幸,莫學頑童固執,麻木失覺,聖人之跡,引爾上天橋,心懷德若高,何懼劫難矣。
倘若能明佛規之真意,觀悉是書能曉其概,若是不行,徒勞無益也,望修道同仁壇主及人才等,佛規未曉,怎能己立立人,了達洪愿,千萬眾生係在其手,當應效法古聖之撓勇,發揚義氣,報答天恩,肩負大任,代如來荷職,亦無負
皇天之苦衷。 謹此為跋
