Good Works Translation from Thai

This is the eleventh สมุดไทย unit of the Rama I Ramakien as published by the Vajirayana Digital Library. It gives Pathutthanta's attack on heaven, Thotsarot's battle in Indra's chariot, Kaiyakesi's truth-vow with the broken axle, Romaphattan's drought and Arunawadi's bringing of Kalaikot, and Thotsarot's first preparations for the son-rite.

Translation

Thotsarot Fights Pathutthanta in Heaven

Now the tale will speak of Pathutthanta the yaksha. He dwelt in a jeweled cave on Mount Surakan. He was strong in power, accomplishment, and sacred might; his strength and courage were fierce, his fame and rank were feared, and his power was known as great. He roamed about attacking and troubling vidyadharas and nagas, who could not oppose him. Rishis and forest ascetics all lay in the kumbhanda's hand.

He grew greedy beyond measure, arrogant and deluded. He wished to possess the wealth of the gods and enjoy the heavenly apsaras. "I will go up and attack, and kill Thao Makhawan if I can." Having thought this, he seized mace and victorious bow, and flew off by the force of his power.

When he reached the heavenly realm, the level of Tavatimsa, he saw the gods and the lovely heavenly women. The more he thought of love's pleasure, the darker and more deluded the yaksha lord became. He swung his victorious bow like age-ending fire, gnashed his teeth, and chased them in attack.

Then the divine youths and beautiful apsaras saw Pathutthanta the asura displaying power and rushing after them. They were terrified, their spirits gone as if life itself would end. The heavenly women screamed and covered their eyes, and the gods ran away in scattered confusion.

Then Pathutthanta the yaksha pursued and pressed them until they reached the Laddawan garden.

Then the divine youths and heavenly women fled the asura kumbhanda, their bodies shaking and their wits gone. Some carried or pulled one another in confusion; some stumbled, fell, and crawled in uproar; some ran in circles and collided with the asura; some fled to attend Indra.

When they arrived, they bowed at the divine king's feet and reported: "Pathutthanta the asura has come up and attacks by force. Every golden palace and dwelling fears his bold power. Now he is still acting in arrogance and has chased us as far as Laddawan."

Then Thao Hatsanai learned that the asura kumbhanda was bold, fierce, and arrogant. He thought: "If I send the sword to kill him, the demon lord will die. But it is not fitting for me, crown of the gods, to kill a common asura. I will invite Thao Thotsarot, who is famous and brave in power, of the four-faced lord's line, to attack him, so that the king's fame will be made known." Having thought this, he ordered wise Matali: "Take the jeweled chariot down and invite King Thotsarot to come fight."

Then radiant Phra Matali received the command, offered joined hands, mounted the jeweled chariot, and flew away.

He floated through the air, bright like the moon, and drove the jeweled chariot down to the ground of the pleasure garden.

When he arrived, he saw the lord of earth enjoying the trees in happiness. He reported: "Thao Makhawan invites Your Majesty to go kill the asura."

Then the radiant Narai-line lord heard Matali's words as if heavenly water had entered his heart. He said to the three chief queens, jewels of his eyes: "Go back into the victorious city. I will go up to subdue the asura."

Then beautiful Nang Kaiyakesi heard the command and rejoiced. The queen bowed at his feet and said: "Your little servant asks to follow beneath your feet. Lord of earth, please show mercy. Let me see the heavenly city, so that my joy may be lasting."

Then brave King Thotsarot heard his chief queen's words and felt affection for what she had said. He spoke to the other two ladies: "Jewels of my eyes, dear ones, return to the royal dwelling and be at ease. I will go subdue the arrogant demon." Having spoken, he took beloved Kaiyakesi by the hand and walked with her to mount the shining divine chariot.

Beautiful was Indra's chariot, with jewel-light changing colors. It was harnessed to divine youths in horse form, and Matali drove as charioteer. The queen sat at the rear, hands raised in reverence, beautiful like the moon in its halo. The chariot floated across the seven mountain ranges, winding along the folds of cloud. Its jeweled wheels thundered; young Garudas were startled through the sky. Matali hurried the cloud-horses and reached Tavatimsa by power.

Then Pathutthanta the yaksha, who was in the jeweled flower garden, glanced aside and turned. Seeing a human riding in a royal chariot with a woman seated behind, stranger than the hosts of gods, the asura cried out: "Hey, who are you, bold one? What is your race and name? You pass arrogantly and fearlessly. I will kill your life."

Then the radiant lord of the Hari line heard and answered: "I am named Thao Thotsarot, of the line of Hari and the discus, mighty in power like corrosive fire. Mighty Kosiy has sent the chariot to bring me up to kill and destroy you, evil-hearted one, because you commit wicked and envious acts. Do not delay with boasts of arrogance; before long we will see each other's power."

Then strong Pathutthanta heard, burned with anger, gnashed his teeth, and answered: "So you are called Thotsarot, boasting rank and power and bravery, to fight against mighty me. Why should the asura's hand tremble? Your wife has soft, fine skin and a bright face like a beautiful apsara. She will be my wife now. Do not speak arrogantly." As he spoke, he swung his mace-weapon, displayed fierce destructive power, stamped his feet, leaped, and sprang up to attack the king's chariot.

Then the Hari-line lord who bore the bow received and warded him off in battle. The king pressed a knee against the asura. They grappled on the chariot, each brave, each strong, neither retreating. The king fought with power and struck the asura, sending him flying.

Then he had the royal chariot driven, the divine youths in horse form breaking through in pursuit. His hand swung the victorious sword, intent on ending the yaksha's life.

Then Pathutthanta the yaksha grew angry like fire and hurled his jeweled club by power.

Its sound was like a thunderbolt. It shook in a roar that reached Tusita and became a flame of poison by the asura's fierce power.

Then lord Thotsarot saw the flame fierce as sunlight and hurled the sword.

Its sound was like the wind of death. It became a great torrent of rain, falling to extinguish the fire, and then drove on to destroy the kumbhanda's mace.

When this was done, the sword returned like a created jeweled discus and came back into the righteous king's hand as if it had life in its own body.

Then Pathutthanta the yaksha saw that his mace had been smashed into dust. He seized the Moli arrow and shot it.

It cracked like thunder and struck the chariot axle, which could not withstand it and broke. The yaksha's arrow displayed fierce power and circled swiftly around the king.

Then beautiful Nang Kaiyakesi saw the jeweled chariot axle struck by the asura's arrow and broken away. She set her truth-vow: "By the power of my honesty and loyalty to my husband, without contempt or betrayal, I will put my arm in place of the victorious chariot's axle. Let no danger come to his life." Having made the vow, she reached her hand in and inserted it in the hub as the chariot's axle. By the power of truth, it was like the great power of a perfected body.

Then the radiant solar-line king saw the yaksha's arrow attacking and hurled the sword again.

The sword destroyed the kumbhanda's arrow, reducing it to age-ending ash and dust. It struck Pathutthanta; he died and flew away to hit the earth.

After he had killed the asura, the king glanced left and right. He saw his beautiful queen with her hand inserted into the chariot hub. He asked his chief lady, jewel of his eyes: "What happened to our chariot that you have done this?"

Then beautiful Nang Kaiyakesi answered the king: "The asura shot an arrow, and it struck the axle of the chariot and broke it away. I feared Your Majesty might lose victory to the yaksha. I offered my life and put my hand there in its place. Therefore Your Majesty was able to kill and destroy the demon lord, and your fame will be known through heaven and earth."

Then the splendid Hari-line lord heard his chief queen. The king received and comforted the lady's spirit: "It was not in vain that you loved me and shared my life and body. This kindness is beyond description. Whatever you desire, if it belongs to me, I will give it to you." Having spoken, he took the lady by the hand and went to the Laddawan garden.

Then Hatsanai, lord of the Thirty-Three, together with the host of gods and lovely heavenly women, learned that the Hari-line king had killed the evil yaksha. They all shouted acclamation together, and the sound thundered through the world. Some held flower garlands and came out from their golden palaces. They followed Lord Amarin to Chitra Laddawan.

When they arrived, they scattered garlands. The divine king blew the conch until the sound thundered, and had the gods dance together with the lovely heavenly women.

Then gods and heavenly women of every group received Thao Suchambadi's command with joyful hearts. They danced in offering, moving gracefully, drawing out their arms, casting their hands, gliding near and away, smiling with bright eyes. The heavenly women slipped away, and the divine youths curved around to bar their way. The women circled left, and the gods circled right, changing places. The heavenly women danced slowly in the reclining-woman pattern, extending arms, swaying shoulders, and joining the movement in a delightful pattern. The gods were glad.

Then the beloved apsara women moved their arms, danced, and cast sidelong glances, watching the moment of the powerful gods. When a god drew near, a woman shifted away, feigning movement, turning and bending. The divine youths danced in close pursuit, stretching and reaching with intimate gestures. The heavenly women tossed their arms away, glanced with playful anger, and withdrew. The gods danced in flower patterns and wheeled in circles, changing places. The heavenly women danced in swan movement, slipping away so the gods could not come close. They sang blessings, and the whole heaven was happy and delighted.

Then Hatsanai, lord of Tavatimsa, when the dance was complete, rejoiced and spoke beautiful words: "It is not wasted that you are of the line of Phra Chakrakit, radiant in power and brave in war. You killed the unrighteous one and ended the distress of the gods. Your fame and power will be known as long as moon and sun shine on the earth. May you prosper in heavenly welfare; beneath the sky may no one oppose you." Having spoken, he ordered Matali: "Take the bright jeweled chariot and carry the Narai-line warrior back, setting the king down in his city."

Then radiant Phra Matali received Thao Suchambadi's command, offered joined hands, and came out.

When he arrived, he manifested power and created a new axle for the royal chariot, setting it into the bright jeweled hub and preparing for the king's departure.

Then radiant King Thotsarot spoke fair words to the three-eyed lord: "May Your Majesty remain in happiness. I ask leave to go first." Having spoken, he bowed his head and raised joined hands, then walked to mount the victorious chariot.

Then wise Phra Matali drove the bright jeweled chariot straight to Ayutthaya.

Romaphattan Seeks Rain from Kalaikot

[Slow]

Now the tale will speak of Phra Kalaikot the rishi. He was the son of Isisingha Muni, and a deer was his mother. Before his father died, he had already gained strong worldly meditation. He lived in the sal forest wilderness in the territory of Romaphattan city. He had received a blessing from Phra Swayambhu and was strict in austerity and meditation, maintaining his vow and restraining his mind without cease. Because of this, rain had been withheld for three years.

Then radiant King Romaphat, because rain did not fall in his city, burned in spirit. Ministers and people everywhere suffered. Famine and hardship arose; all endured hunger and distress. He gave a lion-like command to the great minister: "We will make offerings to the gods who are pillars of the city, and to the city-protecting spirits. Prepare offerings and rice vessels, liquor, rice, ducks, chickens, and sacrificial cards, asking that rain come in season."

Then the brave great minister bowed his head, received the sweet command, and crawled out from the royal hall.

He had a shrine built in the middle of the city, adorned and enclosed with royal fences. The palace women who were spirit-mediums also prepared and waited for the king to arrive.

Then splendid Thao Romaphat, when dawn brightened the earth, went to bathe, adorned himself with ornaments, and came from the sky-bright jeweled palace with lovely palace women on left and right and a dense escort of troops.

When he arrived, he put on perfume and anointed the images of the gods, great and small. He lit candles, offered flowers, and sacrificed to the gods.

"I invite the mighty divine kings who guard the royal dwelling and territory: receive the sacrificial offering I worship with devotion. And you bright and powerful city-guardian spirits, think with compassion and mercy toward the soldiers, subjects, and people. Let rain-clouds pour down, let crops and grain prosper, and help living beings so that they are not destitute. I will spread merit to you every day."

Then the clever palace medium lit candles and raised joined hands in reverence. Her body shook, her feet stamped, and she yawned and belched.

She rose, swayed her body, spat smoke, and spoke with repeated odd sounds. She danced in swaggering spirit-poses, called for attendants to cover embarrassment, and stirred disorder.

She declared that the sacred guardian spirit dwelt in the great shrine, and if it received offerings pleasing to it, it would help the lord of earth and he need not worry.

Then brave King Romaphat had already made offerings to divine hosts in every place of the city without ceasing, but not even a single rain-squall fell. The lord of the three worlds had no happiness or ease.

Then a brave forest hunter learned that the crown of the earth had set up offerings to the gods for seven months and seven days, yet no rain had fallen. The hunter hurried into Romaphattan city.

When he arrived, he bowed his head and reported to the splendid crown of the world: "The drought has lasted three years. The cause is the holy ascetic who lives in the sal forest between the mountains. His name is Kalaikot the ascetic. He enters meditation without pause, restraining the mind and increasing contemplation."

Then King Romaphat heard and understood in his spirit. He reflected: "It is necessary to break the holy one's rite. Woman is the delight of the heart; I will send one by strategy. By love's taste the rite will be broken, and he will lose the meditation he has prospered." Having thought this, the crown of the earth entered the bright palace.

When he arrived, he sat on the jeweled seat and called his beautiful daughter. While receiving her spirit, he said: "Jewel of your father's life, now there is an ascetic who practices vows and holds strong meditation. Because of him the great clouds do not gather and fall, and the whole great city suffers in pain. Go out to Himmaphan, break his meditation if you can, and bring him into the victorious city as crown of the subjects and people."

Then Nang Arunawadi, jewel of the heart, bowed her head to receive her father's command and answered: "Whatever Your Majesty graciously orders, I will receive it on my head. Your beloved child asks to use her life to serve beneath the feet of the righteous king."

Then King Romaphat heard the lovely princess and received her spirit. He rejoiced as if he had gained Kosiy's treasure, left the bright jeweled seat, and went out to the jeweled royal hall.

He ordered the wise, quick, and brave great ministers: "Prepare chariots and troops. My daughter will go to the forest."

Then the four great ministers received the command of the lord of earth and came out from the victorious royal hall.

They arranged the princess's procession and escort beautifully. Before the bright jeweled chariot were troops in green vine-patterned coats. Next came ruby-colored coats with sky-blue bordered garments alternating between them. One group wore sandal-colored coats, and after that were purple coats with meshwork. Next came red coats, and troops holding spears in rows. The outer ranks held gold-inlaid guns. The divisions waited for the princess to depart.

Then the beautiful princess, when dawn's light faded into day, went to bathe.

She bathed and delighted her body, wearing fragrant pollen-water. Her cloth bore kinnara-vine designs and dragon-scrolls curling around the body. Her gold-ground shoulder cloth had borders and shining ruby insets. She wore a carved emerald breast ornament, directional plates, chain necklaces, a jeweled body belt bright with pearls, coral breast clasps, golden dragon armlets, and diamond rings flashing before the eyes. She wore a great nine-gem crown and radiant ear ornaments on left and right. Beautiful like a divine kinnari, she walked gracefully to mount the chariot.

Beautiful was the princess's royal chariot, beautiful her adorned body. Beautiful were the curved yoke and the tiered throne. Beautiful were the supports, swan-tail forms, flowered palace roof, golden finials, and jeweled front. Beautiful were the four harnessed horses and the shining charioteer. Beautiful were the high regalia in rows, the shoulder-drums sounding loudly, the golden-banner ranks, the thundering wheels, the road between mountain and forest trees, and the eager troops entering the wilderness.

They traveled along streams and fields, beneath the curved feet of mountains, crossing waters and resting at river landings, journeying overnight through the forest.

She viewed the many birds, crowding the trees in noise: necklace-birds perched in saraphi trees, noris pecked at prayong flowers, doves called on wild khae trees, mynas perched in kalong branches, parrots on khanthrong trees, flocks of swans flew down to yang trees, peacocks alighted in bunnak, chak-phrak birds flew straight to krang, barbets perched in pairs, little birds tangled in salaeng vines, wild fowl flew to takhro trees, royal lophura pheasants went along kathang branches, chang-thong birds in chingchan, and benjawan birds hopped along cardamom branches. Listening to the birds' cries like music and song, the lady was delighted until they came near the place of the holy one.

Then Wanchorok the forest hunter led the princess near the ascetic's enclosure. He halted the jeweled chariot near the hermitage, instructed the soldiers, horses, and chariots to make no noise, and reported to the beautiful princess, pointing straight at a great thicket: "Do you see the roof finial faintly over there? That is the teacher's dwelling."

Then the excellent young princess stepped down from the divine jeweled chariot and went straight to the hall.

When she arrived, she saw the righteous ascetic, strong in vow and rite. His face was a deer's face. The lady sat down in reverence.

Then Phra Kalaikot the rishi, who had never seen a woman's form, looked in doubt and examined her. He saw the two rounded "horns" standing on her chest, tight like paired lotus buds. "What kind of creature is this? I do not know what animal group it belongs to." Having thought this, he spoke: "What kind of animal are you? Why do you have horns on your chest? I am astonished. I have never seen such a thing before."

Then beloved Nang Arunawadi heard and answered the holy one: "These horns of mine are astonishing. They did not grow on my head like the horns of other creatures, but strayed and rose here on my breast as if shaped by hand. They stand rounded like flower buds, soft and alike as cotton. Lord who holds ascetic knowledge, please be gracious and examine them, to know whether this is good or bad and why I am like this." As she spoke, she moved in to serve him, touching, rubbing, and massaging him by alluring feminine strategy, deliberately stirring the sage's heart.

Then Phra Kalaikot the rishi did not know women's devices and forgot his father's instruction. He embraced and touched the lovely woman's breasts, body pressed to body. Desire and longing arose, even with no teacher. He kissed cheek, eyes, hair, and ears, rejoicing in affection. Like a bee circling a flower and entering lotus pollen, he savored the fragrant sweetness. They shared love and pleasure together in the forest hall.

His ascetic rite and observance were lost. The rain-clouds thundered and poured in force. Lightning cracked, the sound rang out, and rain fell until the ground of the earth was flooded.

Then beloved Nang Arunawadi, seeing that the wise sage had been deluded by her strategy until they had shared the taste of love, lay close beside him and spoke: "I am a royal daughter of the king of splendid Romaphat city. My royal father, lord of earth, sent me to invite the holy one to enter and graciously help the people, who suffer throughout the whole territory. It would be like saving the lives of all those people and freeing them from danger."

Then the great teacher Phra Kalaikot heard her, turned back to grief, and suddenly remembered his father's words. "Ah, I have done wrong this time, sharing the beloved lady's pleasure, and I regret the ascetic rite and knowledge. Alas, what can I do? If I leave her and remain practicing vows, I will miss the taste of love I have shared. I must set my face to go, whatever happens." Having thought this, he answered: "As for taking me to the splendid city, let the lady show mercy and not leave this form uncared for."

Then Nang Arunawadi, jewel of the heart, saw that the holy one longed for her. She raised her hands and bowed at his feet. "Please hurry and go, lord. Mount the great victorious chariot. I have come with troops to receive you at the forest edge."

Then Phra Kalaikot the rishi heard the chief royal lady. He put on his forest ascetic gear, seized his staff and palm-leaf fan, packed his requisites into a large shoulder bag, left the hermitage hall, and went with the chief wife.

Then beloved Nang Arunawadi, when they reached the army's resting place, invited the sage to sit on the throne of the royal chariot among the beautiful women. She ordered the troops to move and returned to the lady's city.

When they reached Romaphattan city, heavenly rain thundered in great torrents. Animals and fish rejoiced, and streams and ponds overflowed with water.

Then men and women of the whole city rejoiced. They all came to see the ascetic. They saw that his face was like the face of a deer, while the rest of his body was human. They cried praise and blessing throughout the districts and city.

Then splendid King Romaphat, learning that his daughter had brought the sage as intended, rejoiced and prospered in welfare, his face bright like the moon. He came down from the shining jeweled palace to receive the holy one.

When he arrived, he bowed at the lotus feet of the ascetic who held discipline, invited him down from the jeweled chariot, and brought him up to the great victorious palace.

He seated him on the jeweled throne and spoke sweetly: "Your Majesty practices vows in the middle of the forest and is skilled in rites. Through the power of the lore and spells of the supreme rishi, rain was withheld for three years, and the people and subjects were dying. Therefore I had you invited in to save the lives of all beings. These misfortunes and dangers will vanish through the teacher's merit."

Then the wise and brave sage heard and answered: "I did not know about these events. I was absorbed in chanting and contemplation, intent on guarding my work. Why did no one tell me, so that the hardship endured three years? Only when the lady came out to find this rishi-form and told me that danger had arisen in the city did I come in."

Then King Romaphat rejoiced in the great teacher. He offered incense, candles, silver, gold, and sweetly fragrant flower garlands, and had the ascetic who held ascetic knowledge dwell in the bright divine palace.

Then Phra Kalaikot the rishi enjoyed love with the princess and had only happiness and increasing joy. Delighted in the taste of affection, he did not practice walking meditation or contemplation. He forgot the fire-worship rite, forgot his old forest dwelling, forgot his group of disciples, and forgot his duties, inflamed by attachment. He delighted only in happiness with the young lady and was greatly pleased at every time.

Thotsarot Seeks the Son-Rite

Then King Thotsarot ruled heavenly sovereignty in Dvaravati city. Gods, asuras, guardian beings, and siddhas in every direction relied on his lotus feet. Like a jeweled parasol guarding the crown, his people were greatly happy and at ease. He was friend to the king of birds, named brave Sadayu. Yet the king had no royal son. He reflected: "If I die, no one will continue the solar line. The asuras will grow careless and oppress the three worlds. Better that I gather holy ascetics, strong in vow and meditation, and establish a rite so that mighty sons may be born."

When dawn's sunlight shone bright, he washed his body, adorned himself, and walked out to the royal hall.

He lowered himself onto the jeweled throne beneath the shining white parasol, surrounded by the solar-line family and many bowing ministers. He gave royal command to the brave ritual officials: "Go invite the holy sages into the royal city."

Then the four ritual officials received the command, offered joined hands, mounted horses, and hurried away.

They reached the hermitage hall, raised joined hands, bowed, and said: "The crown of the three worlds has sent us to invite the holy ones."

Then Phra Wasis and Phra Sawamit, strong in meditation, wise Phra Watcha Akki, and Phra Bharathawach Muni learned that the divine-line king, crown of splendid Ayutthaya, had invited them into the city. They rejoiced, told the assembly of ascetics who were strong in vow and meditation, and each put on the proper ascetic dress. They left the halls and hurried away.

When they reached the royal palace, the teachers, great and small, sat on bright jeweled seats in proper order.

Then King Thotsarot saw the band of holy men. He bowed to them and spoke: "I have invited you here because I wish to consult you. I hold royal sovereignty, yet my life-span is passing. Whoever is born in bodily form cannot escape death. I have no mighty son to continue the royal solar line. If my life and body end, the whole earth will suffer in trouble, and the foolish asura hosts will grow more cruel in attack. Great teachers, please show mercy. Help establish the rite so that royal sons may be born."

Then the four great ascetics heard the famous king's words and answered sweetly: "We rejoice greatly in what Your Majesty has considered. If we perform the rite, a son will indeed be born as you intend. But he will not bear enough power and will not be able to fight the yaksha hosts. The asuras are mighty, and the three great lords have given them boons. If we could get Phra Kalaikot, strong in accumulated merit and meditation, who is living in Romaphattan city, and invite him here to decide the work, then royal sons would be born with fierce strength and brave power. He is skilled in that rite, and they would be able to fight the yaksha demons without fear."

Then King Thotsarot heard the four great holy ones as if he had gained the highest heaven. "Teachers, please go with me to splendid Romaphat city. Help plead with the sage. It seems the matter may come out as I desire." Having spoken, he ordered the ministers to prepare the armies of left and right: royal chariots, elephants, horses, and chariots for the holy sages.

They levied skilled soldiers and arranged a great army procession. The vanguard held firearms and wore sky-blue coats with gold borders. One division held bows and wore pink coats in rows. They prepared bright jeweled chariots, and officers and common soldiers waited for the king to depart.

ให้นิมนต์เข้าไปพระบูรี / ก็มีความยินดีปรีดา
จึ่งบอกคณะพระดาบส / อันมีพรตญาณฌานกล้า

ตัวข้าครอบครองสวรรยา / อายุสสังขาร์ก็ล่วงไป
อันเกิดมาเป็นรูปกาย / ที่จะพ้นความตายนั้นหาไม่
โยมไร้โอรสยศไกร / จะสืบในสุริย์วงศ์กษัตรา
แม้นว่าสิ้นชีพสังขาร / จะเดือดร้อนรำคาญทั้งแหล่งหล้า
อันหมู่อสุรพาลา / ก็ยิ่งจะหยาบช้าราวี
ขอพระมหาอาจารย์เจ้า / จงได้โปรดเกล้าเกศี
ช่วยตั้งกระลากิจพิธี / ให้มีซึ่งราชโอรส ฯ

ได้ฟังบรรหารพระทรงยศ / จึ่งตอบมธุรสพจนา

อันจะทำพิธีจรรยา / ก็จะมีบุตรมาตั้งใจ
แต่ไม่สู้ทรงศักดานัก / จะต่อสู้หมู่ยักษ์นั้นไม่ได้
อสุรีย่อมมีฤทธิไกร / สามไทเป็นเจ้าให้พรมา
แม้นว่าได้พระกไลโกฏ / อันมีโพธิสมภารฌานกล้า
ซึ่งอยู่โรมพัตพารา / นิมนต์เธอมาคิดการ
เห็นว่าจะได้ราชบุตร / ฤทธิรุทรเดชากล้าหาญ
ด้วยกิจพิธีนั้นชำนาญ / ถึงจะสู้ยักษ์มารไม่เกรงกัน ฯ
