This is the thirty-first สมุดไทย unit of the Rama I Ramakien as published by the Vajirayana Digital Library. It gives Hanuman's killing of Ritthikan and his Lanka patrol, Rama's summons to Maha Chomphu, Maha Chomphu's refusal and doubt, Hanuman's night-spell and abduction of the sleeping monkey king, Chomphu's recognition of Narai, and Rama's command that the Chomphu and Khitkhin armies be mustered together.

Hanuman Kills Ritthikan

Now the story will speak of Ritthikan the yaksha. He was a soldier of the lord of Lanka and commanded a koti of kumbhanda troops who patrolled the sky. Brave, powerful, and firm in strength, he used to travel continually, guarding against royal enemies. When dawn broke and the sun's light cleared, he called the brave yaksha hosts, stamped, leapt through the sky by his power, and the asura flew out roaming.

Then powerful Hanuman, brave in heart, glanced and saw the asura hosts spread thickly through the sky. He said to Sukhrip his uncle: "Now Narai, bearer of the bow, will raise armies and hosts to fight the asuras in Lanka. We are soldiers, and since we have met them, I will fight to test the yakshas' skill. If I kill all who have come, the war ahead will be lighter in force." Having spoken, the son of Phra Phai drew the trident from his body and brandished it. Gnashing his teeth, eyes red, he deliberately went out and blocked their way.

He cried out: "Hey, asuras! Where are you going, crossing into this territory? What is your name, that you dare come in arrogance? You have come to block and obstruct my way without knowing that you are about to die. If you love your life, turn back your kumbhanda army and flee beyond mighty Death, whose power is fierce and firm. Otherwise you will not escape life with your great strength."

Then Ritthikan, their chief commander, heard and burned in anger like fire. He cried back at once: "I am a soldier of the king of yakshas, crown of radiant Lanka city. I am Ritthikan the asura, commander of troops who patrol this way. What is your name, that you speak so roughly and push yourself forward? Are you alone going to oppose my power? Do not think you will escape with your life."

Then the strong and mighty son of Vayu heard and answered the kumbhanda: "Hey, you Ritthikan asura. I am a soldier of Phra Narai, radiant son of Phra Phai, nephew of Phraya Sukhrip and Pali. My name is Hanuman. You are like a snake without venom. How could you oppose the power of a bold Garuda? All your thousand kotis of retinue will lose their lives before an eye can blink."

Then Ritthikan, powerful yaksha, heard and grew still more furious. The asura gnashed his teeth. "Look at this wretched monkey, boasting of his strength and saying he is mighty. I will chop your whole race and clan to pieces." Having spoken, he cried out in command: "Hey, brave troops, fierce in heart, seize this common monkey and destroy him until his life is gone."

Then the demon troops, yaksha soldiers, each displayed his power and rushed to attack the monkey.

Some stabbed, some slashed in confusion, and some shot arrows. Their shouts thundered through the sky as they fought close and pressed into battle.

Then mighty Hanuman, strong and firm, drove forward alone, breaking through and striking in the midst of the asuras. He raised the trident and brandished it like firelight, chasing and pressing among the yakshas. The asuras crowded thickly in around him, and the monkey lord fought and killed them in battle.

Then the demon hosts of yaksha soldiers swarmed around him and fought, not one thinking of his life. They hurled and cast their weapons, struggling and grappling in confusion. Those who died fell to the earth; those still living pressed on against the monkey.

Then fierce Hanuman, skilled in war, surged and drove forward in combat. He fought in tumult, stabbing and slashing. His mouth bit, his feet kicked, and his hands struck. Dodging aside, glaring, and killing, he left the thousand kotis of demon troops dead and scattered across the forest.

Then Ritthikan, the chief commander, saw that his troops were gone. Angry like fire, he displayed his fierce power and attacked.

His right hand brandished a mace-weapon, and his left hand seized the radiant monkey by the neck. He aimed to kill him. Each struck and beat the other without pause. Their sound thundered and rolled through the air, and the earth shook. The two brave warriors fought and rushed together, clinging and turning back and forth.

Then Vayu's son, brave and mighty in strength, hurled himself in by power, sprang up, and stepped on the demon lord's shoulder. With one hand he gripped the demon's head and pressed it down. Gnashing his teeth, he strove to kill him. They rolled and grappled through the sky, fighting without thought of life.

Then Ritthikan, powerful yaksha, leapt, sprang, and thrust in to strike. Finding his chance, he stepped on Hanuman's knee. With his left hand he snatched the monkey's trident, and with his right he raised his club to kill him. Embracing and wrestling, they pressed each other in battle and fought close.

Then Hanuman, strong and fierce, forced the matter by his own mighty power. He kicked the kumbhanda in the chest, seized and clawed the demon lord's head, and swung the divine trident like a turning discus. It pierced Ritthikan's body, and his life ended by that power.

Then Phraya Sukhrip, radiant monkey, saw his nephew kill the asura until no life remained. He was glad as if he had obtained a heavenly mansion and Hanuman had brought it to place in his hand. The monkey lord blessed him: "May no one beneath the sky oppose you. You are fit to be a soldier of the bow-bearing Avatara." Having spoken, the two royal monkeys came through the sky by their power.

When they reached Khanthamat mountain, they came down from the air. They saw the golden pavilion adorned with glittering gems, standing at the mountain foot by the stream, a hidden place beneath the shade of a great rang tree. Uncle and nephew went in together with glad hearts.

When they arrived, they bowed their heads at the feet of the radiant royal younger brother. They reported: "We met an asura named Ritthikan, a soldier of Thotsakan. The yaksha lord had raised a troop host, crowded and thick, coming by way of the clouds. Hanuman alone attacked and killed the asura, ending his life and body, together with all the troops that had come, by the monkey's powerful strength. May Your Majesty graciously take me up to attend the bow-bearing lord, so we may gather armies and plan the war against the asuras."

Then radiant Phra Lak heard and rejoiced, as if divine water had been mixed into his heart. He led the two monkey soldiers, uncle and nephew, noble in mind, and walked in to attend Phra Harirak.

He raised his hands, bowed his head, and reported to the mighty royal lord of the solar line: "Now loyal Sukhrip has brought his beloved nephew Hanuman here." Then he told him, according to the monkeys' account, that while they came through the sky they had killed Ritthikan the asura, soldier of the lord of demon Lanka.

Then the world-upholding lord, destroyer of every realm, heard his younger brother report the matter, and the sky-passing king was glad. He gave command: "Why is it, radiant monkey Sukhrip, that you pledged seven nights to bring the soldiers out to Khanthamat mountain? I counted the days and waited for you. How is it that I see no army, and that only two monkeys have come?"

Then the son of the Sun, skilled in war, heard the king's command. He joined his hands above his head and said: "As for passing the appointed time, may the lord graciously forgive me. The strong armies and soldiers have scattered and fled into the forest. Your servant will muster and offer every soldier and commander. But as for marching to fight and destroy the kumbhanda race as far as Lanka, I am still afraid in one matter. King Maha Chomphu, brave and strong, was a beloved life-companion of Phraya Pali. If he learns that Pali's life is gone, he will be angry with your monkey servant. I think he may become an enemy thorn and lead his forces here, sweeping away the families in Khitkhin, the whole solar line and kin. May Your Majesty show mercy to your servant beneath your lotus feet."

Then wise Phra Chakri heard Sukhrip report the matter, and the king spoke a royal word: "What you have thought is careful. I approve, radiant monkey. Why fear only this? Monkey lord, take a letter and go find Thao Maha Chomphu. I will command him so he can do nothing harmful, and his great armies can enter the victorious host and go to war." Then he commanded Phra Lak: "Beloved brother, quickly compose a letter for Sukhrip and Hanuman to take to Chomphu city."

Then Phra Lak, bow-bearing lord of the solar line, received the command of the four-handed king and wisely wrote the gracious letter. When it was finished according to the royal order of the lord Avatara, he gave it to mighty Sukhrip: "Uncle and nephew, go quickly together."

Then the two noble monkeys received the letter of the three-world lord with glad hearts. Each bowed in homage at the feet of radiant Phra Narai, stamped, leapt through the sky by power, and hurried, flying swiftly.

The Summons to Maha Chomphu

When they reached Chomphu, the royal seat, the two soldiers came down from the sky. They walked together to the council pavilion.

After sitting down, they spoke graciously to the senior monkey ministers: "Phraya Pali has commanded and sent us to carry an auspicious letter and offer it beneath the lotus feet of the lord who rules radiant Chomphu city. We must report the royal friendship according to ancient custom."

Then the ministers of rank led the two royal envoys into the royal hall.

When they arrived, they bowed at the lotus feet of creating Thao Chomphu and said: "Your beloved life-companion, who rules Khitkhin city, has sent Sukhrip and Hanuman to report the radiant royal letter, offering it at the king's feet in lasting friendship."

Then Sukhrip and Hanuman, skilled in war, flew up higher than the splendid throne and read the written message aloud.

"Royal letter of supreme Phra Chakrakrit, lord of sovereign freedom, bearer of the conch, whose seat and throne is the serpent in the Milk Ocean. Hosts of gods, Amarin, Brahma, and siddhas in every direction assembled and invited him from Vaikuntha into the line of the great emperor. He bears the name Phra Ram Rames, world-lord and shade like a royal parasol. He has come to jeweled Khanthamat mountain to destroy the untrue ones in Lanka. Now he will gather armies. Therefore this radiant letter summons King Chomphu, lord of the city, to attend at the king's feet."

Then Thao Maha Chomphu, skilled in war, heard the name of the four-handed lord pronounced. The monkey was almost destroyed. His whole body weakened as if struck by a bolt of lightning. Unable to support his body, he feared the power of Phra Narai and fainted.

Then the ministers and officers, great and small, saw the royal lord, crown of kingship, fall still as if life had ended. Each grieved and was distressed, frightened and without spirit. Some ran into one another, all entangled in tumult.

The physicians came in and massaged him. Some ground sweet sandalwood and aloeswood. Some brought royal perfumes and rubbed them over every limb.

Then radiant Thao Maha Chomphu regained his senses. Doubt and confusion filled his heart. He asked the brave and wise envoys: "From what city have you come? Whose letter have you reported? Tell me clearly what this matter is."

Then the powerful son of the Sun heard and cried back: "We are envoys of the four-handed lord. His command summons you to attend at Khanthamat mountain. Do not delay, Phraya monkey. Hurry and go at once."

Then radiant Thao Maha Chomphu understood that the letter was Phra Chakri's. He grew still more frightened and alarmed. The hair of his head and body stood on end as if he could no longer hold his body upright. He asked by command: "This Narai who has come from Vaikuntha: what important sign have you seen that you praise him so greatly? I am doubtful in spirit. Envoys, tell me clearly."

Then Sukhrip, noble in mind, saw that King Chomphu did not believe that the lord rode Garuda. He said: "Listen, lord of the chakra. Phra Harirak, the creator, is more beautiful than all the hosts of gods. His whole body is smooth and dark blue. He bears three arrows, surpassing all others, his radiance spread to the edges of the sky. Truly he is Phra Chakri. Do not have any doubt."

Then Thao Maha Chomphu heard and laughed mockingly, then cried out: "Why do you speak false words? Powerful Phra Narai has four hands, rides Garuda, and bears conch, jeweled discus, mace, and trident. He does not use a bow and arrow as weapons. What you say is wrong. That lord dwells in the Milk Ocean. This letter seems falsely claimed. It is not the four-handed Chakri."

Then the son of the Sun, skilled in war, heard King Chomphu and answered: "Lord Narai has come to end distress and make all ten directions cool. If you do not go according to the command, the lord may shoot his victorious arrow, come destroy the whole solar line of monkey kings, great and small, and all the people and troops may be destroyed with them."

Then brave-hearted Thao Maha Chomphu heard and answered: "Do not speak so arrogantly. When has Narai come from Vaikuntha? Where did you get such words? My age has been counted in kalpas. Who has ever heard speech like this? If he truly is the Avatara, he will kill only yakshas. I am not of the asura race. It would be wrong for him to come destroy my life."

Then Phraya Sukhrip, the great soldier, heard the words of the lord of the victorious city. Displeased, he answered: "You are badly deluded. You do not know Lord Narai. When he was to come from Vaikuntha, rishis and gods together reported to Phra Isuan, lord of the world, asking him to invite the supreme creating feet to come destroy the base, unrighteous asuras. Why do you say you do not know this? You deliberately speak false words. At the time of the Avatara, his fame shook the whole earth. You fainted at the mere naming of him, your face down and still in place. Is it fitting not to be loyal, speaking proud words without need?"

Then brave-hearted Thao Maha Chomphu heard and felt anger in his spirit, as if struck by poisoned gunfire. Yet if he did not go, that would not be right; he feared there might be fault. He sat still, stunned, thinking. Then he spoke a cunning command: "If Narai has incarnated to destroy the base yakshas, I too rejoice and am glad. It is fitting for him to remain as lord of the three worlds. But if I myself do not go bow, that does not mean I lack reverence. In the end, to send loyalty with a sincere heart is the same. You two envoys, do not be resentful. Go report to the supreme creator that I offer lawful allegiance and raise joined hands to the four-handed lord."

Then the two envoys, skilled in war, heard the monkey king's evasive, twisting speech. Each thought carefully, considering his intention: "This king is full of devices. He turns aside and bends away; he will not go." Sukhrip answered wisely: "Do not linger making excuses. The lord of the three worlds sent us with a letter to find one king only and bring him to attend at Khanthamat mountain. If you will go, go quickly without delay. If you will not go, say so clearly."

Then brave-hearted Thao Maha Chomphu heard Sukhrip speak boldly and was displeased. His face went stiff and tense. He would not look at the envoys. He rose from the shining jeweled throne and went into the radiant palace.

Then radiant Sukhrip and Hanuman saw that King Chomphu did not speak and had risen and fled from the royal hall. The two uncle-nephew envoys could find no way to turn the matter. They walked together out from the bright golden hall.

When they reached the guards' barracks of the palace, they stopped and sat down. Quick-minded Sukhrip spoke to radiant Hanuman: "King Chomphu spoke stiffly and boasted of his courage. He will not go attend the Avatara because he is arrogant and swollen with power. He thinks his own rank is high and that the three worlds lie under his command. He is darkened by delusion and bends aside through pride in his heart. Yet his speech is not openly fierce, nor is it sweet and gentle. He speaks in the middle, neither saying he will go nor that he will not. We should return to attend the crown-lord and report to Phra Chakri's feet everything that King Chomphu has said."

Then Hanuman, skilled in victory, heard and answered: "We have reached King Chomphu and told him the whole matter plainly. Since he will not go and remains obstinate, he seems likely to become an enemy thorn against the Avatara. If we return and report to the four-handed lord, he will be angry and shoot his arrow to destroy Chomphu city because we, uncle and nephew, did not think carefully. Twenty oceans of troops that could fight the yakshas would be lost, and it would become karmic harm and hostile debt clinging to us hereafter. We would lose the honor of being mighty soldiers. Phra Chakrakrit could blame us, saying he sent us as his own mind, and yet in this small matter we let the work fail."

Then Sukhrip, wise and brave, spoke to radiant Hanuman: "What you say is very right. How shall we manage this, so the royal service of the mighty lord is accomplished and our loyalty not wasted? Beloved nephew, think well."

Then fierce Hanuman, radiant monkey, heard and answered: "Do not trouble your heart over this. Your nephew will seize brave King Chomphu and offer him to victorious Phra Hariwong at Khanthamat by skill."

Then the powerful son of the Sun doubted his nephew's words and answered: "We, uncle and nephew, have come as only two. How can we fight troops counted in oceans? By nature a little water loses to fire. I am troubled at heart over how we can fight. The king has power like Pali, and the three worlds count him a true man. As for opposing his excellent strength, your uncle's wisdom is exhausted."

Then fierce Hanuman smiled and spoke: "Do not be anxious, royal uncle. Though the troops in Chomphu city are many, whom can they oppose? They will likely be defeated by an inner stratagem. Every city is like the formed body. The king is the heart and spirit, chief of the bodily frame. The left and right hands are the feudatories; the feet are the fourfold troops. With the thirty-two parts complete, it is called a body. The realm of people and subjects is like all weapons. Even if that man is excellent beyond all men, if the mind leaves the body, he dies. Weapons with no one to hold them: how could they run into battle? Mighty King Chomphu I will subdue and carry away by mantra."

Then the powerful son of the Sun heard and answered: "This thought of my nephew is very good. It will make fame and honor appear greatly, spreading through the three worlds, that we served Phra Harirak without counting life in heavy or light matters." Having spoken, mighty Sukhrip told the four ministers: "We ask shelter for one night. At dawn tomorrow, we will take leave and go."

Then the senior monkey ministers heard and had no doubt. They hurried to the jeweled royal hall.

When they arrived, they bowed at the lotus feet of Lord Chomphu and reported: "The two envoys will take shelter and sleep for one night."

Then radiant Thao Maha Chomphu heard and ordered the ministers: "This matter is strange. You are senior men; keep guard. Inspect carefully and let no event occur. Take turns sitting watch by the fires. Do not sleep; be alert and watch them."

Then the diligent great ministers received the command, bowed in homage, and went out at once.

They mustered the brave soldiers throughout all posts of the radiant monkeys and had them inspect and sit watch by the fires according to the royal command.

Hanuman Carries Maha Chomphu Away

Then brave and mighty Vayu's son, at midnight, when the moon leaned westward in the sky and all sounds had fallen quiet, with the noise of gongs, drums, and trumpets stilled, while the many soldiers kept bustling watch, said to the son of the Sun: "Royal uncle, wait here. Guard yourself well. Your nephew will sneak inside, cast sleep on them, and seize King Chomphu. Having spoken, he honored the virtue of the lord of the three worlds, composed his heart, and recited magical spells.

When he had completed the set seven recitations, dew fell in drops like fine rain. Cloud and mist darkened the sky by his immense battle-power.

Then the monkey ministers at left and right, together with the hosts and soldiers, were touched by the mist of sky-water until their hearts were soaked. Cold chilled every hair, beyond their ability to endure. Some pulled cloth over their heads, nodding and swaying, unable to open their eyes. They mumbled, muttered, snored, and slept, curled up without lifting their faces. Anyone who did not keep watch was struck by the sleep-spell throughout the city.

Then fierce Hanuman, radiant monkey, saw that the soldiers and ministers had lost their senses and fallen asleep. Glad because his plan had succeeded, he looked in every direction, great and small, then flew up to the top of the victorious palace with skillful power.

He heard the voices of the palace women singing and lamenting sweetly. He paid homage to the virtue of Phra Sayamphu, then intoned and recited the sacred Veda.

By the power of the mighty spell, darkness covered every direction. No one could open their eyes against the monkey's force.

Then brave King Maha Chomphu, the dancing women who served the king by night, and the twelve palace attendants who took turns sitting watch beside his bed all nodded and swayed, every woman. The whole inner palace fell silent. Some held drums, taphon, clappers, and cymbals, but rolled asleep senselessly, snoring, muttering, and babbling in the jeweled chamber.

Then brave and mighty Vayu's son, when the sleep-spell was complete, removed the roof-peak of the great victorious palace.

He broke through the starred ceiling, just enough for his body to slip down, and with quick leaps and springs entered the radiant jeweled chamber.

There he saw Thao Maha Chomphu sleeping on his bed. The monkey lord was filled with gladness and slid his arms beneath the splendid couch.

By his excellent and fierce power, like Garuda seizing a bold naga, he flew upward into the sky, while the son of the Sun followed.

Fast as wind blown and carried, they hurried through the air. In the snap of a single finger, without an eye-blink, they reached Khanthamat mountain. They descended from the sky, bright under the moon's radiance, and set the shining jeweled couch down upon the earth.

Then mighty-hearted Sukhrip hurried to attend the Avatara before the front platform of the golden pavilion.

When he arrived, he bowed at the lotus feet and reported to Lord Narai: "Your servant carried the royal letter to find Thao Chomphu, the monkey king. I spoke with the lord of the victorious city according to the bow-bearing lord's command, but he was stubborn and would not bend or submit before Phra Chakri's feet. Hanuman therefore devised a stratagem, recited spells, cast sleep upon the radiant monkeys, and brought him here with the jeweled couch. Now he is still deep in sleep."

Then the three-world lord, destroyer of worlds, heard the son of the Sun. The king rejoiced because his thought had been fulfilled, as if he had gained a tiered golden mansion. He spoke by command: "King Chomphu is mighty but his heart is swollen and he fears no one. Since you, uncle and nephew, acted with noble minds, the matter was done without pain or difficulty. Wherever he is, bring him here."

Then the powerful son of the Sun received Phra Chakri's command, bowed, took leave, and went out at once.

When he arrived, he told Hanuman: "The radiant Avatara commands that King Chomphu be brought before the victory pavilion." Having spoken, the two uncle-nephew monkeys, whose battle-power shook the earth, together lifted the shining couch and brought it in to offer before the four-handed lord.

Then Narai of the solar line, bearer of the bow, saw mighty King Chomphu asleep and senseless. He called Hanuman near, and the king praised the radiant monkey: "It was not wasted that you are of Pali's line; your power is like the Sun himself." Then he stroked him from the crown of his head along the length of his tail, dissolving the curse of heavenly Uma. Hanuman's fierce power became still greater, his strength increasing a thousandfold. The lord then told mighty Vayu's son to release the monkey king from the spell, so they might see what King Chomphu would do.

Then Hanuman, noble in mind, received the command of the three-world lord, bowed in homage, and crawled out.

When he arrived, he bowed with joined hands to the lord Phra Sayamphu, recited the Veda to undo the sleep, and blew over the monkey's whole body.

Then mighty King Maha Chomphu woke from the powerful spell. The king opened his eyes and looked around. He saw only stars and moon filling the sky; he did not see his palace, nor any singing women of the inner apartments, nor the attendants sitting watch by the fires. Alarmed, he rose from the jeweled couch. Then he saw the radiant jeweled discus-lord, four-handed, bearing conch, mace, trident, and adorned jeweled discus. His strange green radiance shone with glittering light. His beautiful form was graceful and fine, and the monkey stared without turning his eyes away. He knew in his heart for certain that this was Lord Narai. Fear came over him as if his life would end, and he fell face down, fainting at once.

Then radiant Phra Kritsanurak saw King Chomphu faint under fear of the king's power. He turned his face and smiled, lovely like a lordly swan, and commanded mighty Phra Lak: "You who share my line and share my life, take water and bathe my fierce Brahmastra arrow. Sprinkle Phraya Chomphu so the monkey does not die."

Then Phra Lak, younger lord of the solar line, bowed his head and received the command with gladness, doing as the four-handed lord ordered. When this was finished, he bowed in homage at the feet of Phra Narai, bearer of the bow, and walked straight to the monkey.

When he arrived, he poured it over the monkey's head, rubbed the radiant monkey's face, and sprinkled it over every limb until all the fragrant water was gone.

Then wise and brave Thao Chomphu, touched by the water that had bathed the Avatara's arrow, felt it cool throughout his body and regained his senses. His heart filled with great joy. He came down from the jeweled couch and bowed at the mighty lord's feet. He said: "I, your servant beneath the lotus feet, disobeyed the royal command. My fault is great enough to end my life. May Phra Chakrakrit show mercy and grant my body and life to remain, so I may serve beneath the glorious feet. Chomphu city, the hosts of monkey soldiers, wealth, lordship, treasure, and the shining great white parasol I offer to the four-handed lord, to endure through all kalpas."

Then Phra Kritsanurak heard the gracious words of Thao Maha Chomphu and gave royal command in answer to the radiant monkey: "In this incarnation I hope to be refuge for the three worlds according to the command of the lord of the world. I do not seek to take your punishment. I do not desire the kingly heaven of your monkey realm. I want only brave troops, skilled in war, from both Chomphu and Khitkhin cities, to go fight the asuras in Lanka. You and the son of the Sun should consider and consult together, mustering and measuring the soldiers of the two cities into one body: how many troops, great or small, can enter the army?" Having spoken, he went into the radiant golden pavilion.

Then the beautiful palace women of Thao Chomphu, who had been struck by the spell of monkey Hanuman, after the time passed into the tenth watch and birds and jeweled cocks cried out, found that the powerful Veda-spell had ceased and faded. Each woke from sleep. They could no longer see the couch-bed. The lord who upheld the three worlds had vanished together with the sleeping-place. The elder women, chaperons, and palace attendants cried out to one another in alarm. Noise rose in tumult as if Vejayanta itself were breaking apart.

Then the monkey ministers heard the noisy uproar, and soldiers and officers all woke together. Looking for the envoys, they did not see them, and cold fear came over them until their bodies shook. Those outside and inside alike wandered in confusion searching for the righteous king.

They searched every room and place, but could not find the king. All were filled with grief and longing, and the women of the inner palace hurried away.

ทูลว่าตัวข้าบทมาลย์ / ขัดพระโองการนั้นโทษผิด

ตัวเราอวตารปางนี้ / หวังเป็นที่พึ่งภพไตร
โดยในโองการเจ้าโลกา / เราจะคุมโทษานั้นหาไม่
อันแสนสวรรยาราชัย / มิได้ปรารถนาของวานร
จะเอาแต่พลทวยหาญ / ที่แกล้วกล้าชำนาญชาญสมร
ทั้งชมพูขีดขินพระนคร / ไปราญรอนอสูรในลงกา
ตัวท่านกับลูกพระอาทิตย์ / จึ่งคิดตรองตรึกปรึกษา
กะเกณฑ์กำหนดโยธา / ทั้งสองพาราบรรจบกัน
จะเป็นพลมากน้อยเท่าไร / ที่จะได้เข้ากองทัพขันธ์

อาคมพระเวทเชี่ยวชาญ / ก็บันดาลระงับเสื่อมไป
ต่างฟื้นตื่นจากที่นอน / จะเห็นแท่นบรรจถรณ์ก็หาไม่
พระองค์ผู้ทรงภพไตร / หายไปกับที่ไสยา
เถ้าแก่ชะแม่พระกำนัล / ตกใจเรียกกันล้วนหน้า
เสียงมี่อื้ออึงเป็นโกลา / ดั่งว่าไพชยนต์จะทำลาย ฯ
