Good Works Translation from Thai

This is the thirty-ninth สมุดไทย unit of the Rama I Ramakien as published by the Vajirayana Digital Library. It gives Rama's grief over Benchakai's false dead Sida form, Hanuman's exposure and capture of Benchakai, Rama's pardon of her after Phiphek advises death, Hanuman's escort of Benchakai back toward Lanka, Chomphuphan's counsel to build the stone causeway, and the quarrel between Hanuman and Nilaphat during the bridge work.

Translation

Rama Finds the False Sida

Then the lord who destroys the three worlds lay on his shining jeweled couch, his hand across his face, thinking of Sida. "By now, how is my beloved? Once she tied a cord to hang herself, and only because the son of the Wind arrived in time was she freed and given news. Otherwise the young lady would have died. Even so, she remains in that enemy's hands, and my heart is full of fear." He kept rising and sitting, unable to find ease, suffering and grieving as if his breast were broken. Out of longing for the lovely lady, the discus-bearing lord could not sleep. The last watch of night passed. Birds called loudly through the forest; bees and insects gave sweet sound, and the sun rose above Mount Yugandhara.

He rinsed his mouth and washed his face, then invited bow-bearing Phra Lak to go bathe in the sea. The monkey army followed.

When they reached the water's edge, the king glanced left and right. He saw the demon's illusion lying at the sandy bathing landing, slender and graceful, just like radiant Sida. Shocked as if life had left him, Phra Narai ran to her in love.

When he reached her, he lowered himself beside the lady, lifted her hair in both hands, and placed her head in his lap. He examined her face, body, arms, and every mark of the woman. Nothing differed in complexion or form, and he believed it was beloved Sida. His whole body choked with grief; the sky-passing king seemed about to die. Sobbing, he called to Phra Lak: "Beloved younger brother, now Sida has come to death in the current of the water."

Then radiant Phra Lak looked carefully over every limb and believed that his elder sister-in-law had died. Love and loss were beyond thought. His heart burned as if struck by lightning. He lowered his face and grieved as if his life would depart.

Then bow-bearing Phra Krishna's protector, in boundless sorrow and longing, lamented: "Alas, Sida, how could you come to this death? I had sent important news that I would raise the army to fight. How great must your pain have been that you did not keep your life and wait for me? Or did that vile ten-headed asura grow angry because the son of the Wind killed Sahatsakuman and burned Lanka city, and so kill you in return? Alas, you were my companion in hardship. The three of us suffered together. My younger brother and I strove in hope of making war on the enemy and ending the whole race of Thotsakan's demons. Now that your life has ended, I cannot continue the war. Yet if I return to my city, all three worlds will mock me. I will give up my life and enter the funeral fire with you, beloved." The two princes grieved and lamented, stricken as if their breasts were broken. They fell unconscious, their faces lowered, almost at the end of life.

Then the splendid monkey soldiers saw Phra Lak and Phra Chakri grieving in love for Lady Sida until both had lost their voices and fainted. All the monkey troops who had followed were startled and afraid, as if Kala, lord of death, had come and cut off their heads. Each one mourned, and the whole sea-landing roared with grief.

Then Phra Narai of the solar line and powerful Phra Lak heard the monkeys' grief and returned to their senses. Phra Chakri, lord of earth, was furious like heavenly fire. "Ho, Hanuman, bold and brave one. You transgressed my order and destroyed the lineage of the demon lord. Now the unrighteous ten-headed one has killed Queen Sida. I followed her in hope of waging war against the yakshas. Now that the lady has died, what do you say, monkey?"

Then Hanuman, whose judgment was keen, heard the king's command and bowed his head. He answered wisely: "This form seems very strange. It is not the beloved chief queen. It must be a demon illusion, changed to resemble the royal lady by some trick of war so that Your Majesty will not cross to the demon city. Lord of heaven and earth, please halt your heart and think."

Then Phra Narai Chakrakrit of the solar line heard this as if touched by poison-fire. The mighty lord's anger increased. He sprang up, stamped his foot, and shouted like lightning: "Ho, Hanuman, foolish one. How can you say this is not the royal lady? The form, the beauty, the face, every bodily mark appears plainly. Even the cloth and ring that you took to her are upon this noble lady. If this is not she, speak."

Then the bold son of the Wind bowed and answered: "Great lord, please show mercy. Those signs are all here, truly; but on examination this is a demon trick. By nature, when a creature dies, the body decays and swells. Do not think otherwise. This corpse is fresh and has no odor. Its floating in the water is wrong. Your Majesty's pavilion stands above mighty Lanka. How could this body float upstream and arrive here? I ask to lift it onto a fire and test it plainly. If it is an illusion, it will not endure the strong blaze. If it is truly the chief royal wife, then she will be consumed by fire. Punish me then, cut off my head, and let me die after my wrongful royal speech."

Then Phra Krishna's protector heard the son of Vayu and turned his gaze from the head to the feet. It was strange, just as Hanuman had said. His grief lessened and his anger eased. He commanded the soldiers: "Quickly gather and kindle a cremation fire, bright and blazing. Burn this form and learn whether it is evil or good, according to Hanuman's word."

Then the brave monkey host bowed to receive the royal command and ran about in haste.

Some carried and some hauled firewood. The soldiers threw it down into a great pile. When it was ready, they lit the fire according to Phra Chakri's command.

Then victorious Hanuman ordered the monkey troops to surround the fire on every side.

He lifted the illusory form and placed it in the middle of the fierce shining blaze. He stared at it, knowing the trick, and planned to catch the asura.

Then Benchakai the demoness felt the fire burn through her whole body as if life would end. At the end of thought and power she could not endure it. She flew upward along the smoke, escaping with all her strength.

Then victorious Hanuman glanced and saw the asura lady flying away along the tongues of smoke. Swift as the moving wind, the monkey shook with anger, brandished his diamond trident like doomsday fire, turned, and flew after the asura.

When he caught up, he rushed in and seized her tight, snatching her hair with one hand. Having caught her, he came back down by the strength of the monkey's power.

He brought the demoness and presented her to bow-bearing Phra Narai, in the midst of the troops, while they waited to hear the lord's command.

Then the lord of the three worlds saw that mighty Hanuman had brought in the yaksha woman and was pleased. His grief was loosened. He stamped his foot until the earth shook. "Look at this vile one. She dared to do such a thing." Speaking so, he commanded Phraya Sukhrip: "Take this filthy deceiver. Beat her and question her about the matter." Having given the order, he left the bathing landing with his noble younger brother and proceeded to the golden pavilion.

Benchakai Is Questioned

Then the mighty son of the Sun had the demoness brought along with a rope around her neck. They reached the front of the splendid pavilion. He sat in the royal court, surrounded by brave monkey soldiers, and began to question the asura woman: "Why were you bold enough to do this? Did you not fear the monkeys' power? What is your race and name? Where is your home and city? Whose thought sent you here? Why did you change into the form of Phra Lakshmi, wife of Lord Narai, and pretend to be dead in the river by this deceptive trick? What did your mind desire, vile and deluded creature? Give your account truthfully. Otherwise your life will end."

Then Benchakai, most pitiable one, answered the questions with skill and gave her statement: "I am the niece of the lord of Lanka. My name is Benchakai the yaksha woman. I am the daughter of Phraya Phiphek the asura; my mother is named Trichada. I heard that my father had died through the danger of Lord Narai. Doubting this and wishing to know the matter, I feared the monkey troops if I came in demon form, and so I changed myself into the royal queen. I came to listen and learn whether the news was bad or good, and then I meant to return. This is the truth I speak. I would not give a false statement. Wise lord, please have mercy."

Then the mighty son of the Sun heard the asura woman's words and understood that she was the daughter of his beloved friend. Being too straightforward, he did not question the matter until it was clear. Since Phraya Phiphek the demon had been driven from the city by Thotsakan, Sukhrip ordered the monkey scribes to write down the yaksha woman's statement. When it was finished, he hurried to the splendid pavilion.

He bowed his head and reported to the great imperial lord: "Your servant questioned the demoness. She gave her story from the beginning. She says she is the niece of Thotsakan, beloved child of Phiphek the yaksha, named Benchakai the asura, with Lady Trichada as her mother. She heard that her father was dead by the penalty of bow-bearing Phra Narai, so she changed into the chief royal wife and came to hear whether her father's news was bad or good. Then she would return to victorious Lanka city. She says she is no thorn of enmity beneath Your Majesty's feet."

Then the jeweled discus lord of the solar line heard the asura woman's testimony and grew angry like doomsday fire. "Look at you, son of the Sun. Why are you so clouded and deluded? She says no one sent her. Do you truly believe those words? Why did you not question and search until you obtained the truth of this point? Or because she is the child of your dear friend, have you chosen only the favorable account?"

Then Pali's splendid younger brother heard Phra Chakri's royal command as if a diamond trident had struck him. He was ashamed before the army and afraid of the righteous lord's punishment. He bowed, took leave, and went out.

He ordered the chief royal executioner to take Benchakai the yaksha woman, bind her feet and waist, and punish her until she told the truth.

Then the diligent monkey executioners dragged fierce-hearted Benchakai in and immediately fastened her to a stake. They squeezed her hands and temples, threatened the yaksha woman, and struck her with heavy blows, stopping after three strokes to question her.

Then Sukhrip, the great minister, questioned her: "Ho, vile one, why did you lie in your testimony? If you came only to hear about your father, why pretend that life had left you, like the royal queen dead, making the sky-passing king grieve and mourn? Your claim that no one sent you is not yet seen as true." As he questioned her, he ordered the monkeys to take turns beating her.

Then Benchakai the yaksha woman, in pain beyond measure, cried out loudly. "Have mercy on me, monkey. Stop, and I will tell the truth. The lord of mighty Lanka commanded me to transform my body into lovely Sida and deceive Lord Hari, hoping by wisdom to cut off the war before it reached Lanka city. I could not refuse because I feared the demon king's danger. My penalty reaches the end of life. All now depends on your mercy."

Then bold and wise Sukhrip questioned and cross-examined the demoness until all doubt was ended. Seeing the truth, he ordered the monkeys to untie the yaksha woman's hands and feet. Then he went in to attend Phra Chakri at the golden pavilion.

When he arrived, he bowed his head to the lord of the solar line and reported the whole of the asura woman's words. Then he waited for the king's command.

Then bow-bearing Phra Narai of the solar line heard the son of the Sun report the statement. Seeing that Thotsakan had truly sent her, the king gave a command: "This Benchakai, base demoness, has committed such a public wrong. Phraya Phiphek the asura is her father. Consult him concerning the filthy one's punishment, and say what station it should reach."

Then Phiphek, whose judgment was clear, bowed to receive the king's order. He thought with affection of his royal daughter, but anger and resentment were even greater, choking his demon breast. He answered: "Though this asura woman is my child, she used deceit, changed herself into the royal queen, pretended to be dead, and deceived Phra Chakri. This crime reaches death. It is fitting to cut off her head and impale it for public exposure. Then every foolish enemy in all directions will fear Your Majesty's power."

Then the jeweled discus lord heard Phiphek advise that her life be erased. He saw the truth and honesty in it, and the mighty lord had mercy on the yaksha woman. He gave royal speech: "This vile Benchakai has acted crookedly. Her heavy offense reaches the end of life. Yet I do not wish to kill her. I give her to you, her father." Then he ordered the son of Vayu: "Take Benchakai the yaksha woman and send her beyond the army, to the border of mighty Lanka."

Then bold Hanuman, the great soldier, received the command of the lord of the three worlds, paid homage, and hurried away.

Hanuman Escorts Benchakai

When he reached her, he said: "Look, Benchakai, beloved lady. Now the four-armed lord does not take your life. He has commanded me to escort you beyond the splendid monkey army." Speaking so, he lifted the asura woman and flew up into the clouds.

He drifted through the sky, full of longing. When he had crossed to the border of Lanka, he came down to the earth.

He spoke sweetly: "Lovely one, most pitiable lady, I was troubled for you and feared you would die under the power of the four-armed lord. I thought to ask for your pardon, but before I could, he graciously granted it. The anxiety burning in my breast is ended, and by bringing you here my wish is fulfilled. My joy is like gaining the treasure of Dusit heaven. Your merit and mine must have been friends before, for the mighty lord has chosen me to bring you. We two should stand face to face, share love and delight, and be a pair together until life departs."

Then lovely Benchakai heard the monkey's words and felt bashful and uneasy. She glanced sharply at him and answered: "You can indeed come speaking courtship now. It is only because my life has not ended that you invent such words. Do not think I am light of heart or that I do not understand the monkey's ways. Do not play with tricks like this. Though I am a woman, I understand."

"Beloved, lovely one, graceful lady of highest affection, why speak so to me? My love for you is true. I do not deceive you, young and slender beloved. The great wealth of Lanka will pass to your father, royal lady, and we two will rule together in happiness, delight, and peace." Speaking so, the monkey lord reached for her and teased the noble lady.

Then soft and lovely Benchakai pushed away his hand and glanced at him sharply. "Alas, you overpower me without regard. Because I am a woman alone on a deserted path, I can say nothing. My heart is hurt as if life will end." Speaking so, she pushed him away and gave him no welcome.

"Beloved younger one, dear lady, auspicious beauty of the asura women, why push me away? Have some mercy, noble one." Speaking so, he leaned close and kissed her in pleasure. He held and touched the lotus of her body, breathing the sweet fragrance. Like a bee descending to caress the flower, humming through the air, tasting the tender pollen, a heavenly rain rumbled over the earth.

Then lovely Benchakai came into union and shared the delight of love with the mighty monkey lord. Joy rose in her heart; attachment and affection increased. Her love seemed to reach the end of life, and she did not wish to be parted from the monkey. Deeply bound and enamored of the soldier of the bow-bearing lord, she forgot her fear of the twenty-armed king and was glad.

Then victorious Hanuman lay with Benchakai the asura woman and rejoiced as if he had gained a heavenly mansion. Stroking and kissing her cheek, he looked at her face and said: "Beloved, most pitiable lady, I do not wish to part from you. But the war still remains, and I must leave first. Dear lovely lady, do not be wounded in heart. Return now into Lanka city."

Then lovely Benchakai heard the mighty son of the Wind and felt as if her heart would break. Tears filled and flooded her eyes. She bowed her head and cried: "Alas, is it right to have no pity, to abandon me to shame? Useless that I was born a woman; wasted that I lost myself to sweet words; ruined by trusting a monkey's speech, as if losing life itself. All this came from my own light mind. It is my fault; whom can I blame? Karma has come, and I will bear karma." Speaking so, the noble lady grieved.

Then mighty Hanuman saw Benchakai the asura woman lamenting. He lifted her into his lap, kissed her face, and comforted her spirit: "Do not grieve, suffer, or cry in wounded pride. When the war against the yakshas is finished, we will sit face to face in love. Keep yourself carefully. Let no stain touch you."

Then Benchakai, most pitiable one, heard Hanuman's words, and her grief gradually eased. She came down from the monkey's lap and pleaded: "I entrust my father to you. Remember me, your devoted one." Speaking so, she sighed heavily, unwilling to part from the splendid monkey. She bowed her head, joined her hands, and hurried into Lanka.

When she arrived, she went up into the palace and bowed at Thotsakan's feet. Sobbing, she reported: "I changed my body to look like Lady Sida and pretended to be dead at the bathing landing. Phra Rama and Phra Lak of the solar line came down to bathe. When they saw me, both noble lords were shocked and grieved, held me close against their bodies, and seemed about to die. But there was a white monkey, wise and brave, named bold Hanuman, who burned Lanka city. He examined my body and reported that it was a demon trick, not Lady Sida. He lifted me and placed me on the fire. The flames burned painfully through every pore; when I could not endure them, I flew away. The monkey followed and caught me at once. Phra Chakri ordered me punished. My whole body was crushed with pain, and I was almost dead. Because I am a woman, he released me." Reporting this, the asura woman wept.

Then Ravana, lord of asuras, heard Benchakai's words and felt his body burn as if with poison-fire. He sighed again and again, his demon heart choked. He sat still and thought: "This enemy is skillful in this affair. When I make tricks of deception, they know them all, and all their troops are brave. It seems we must meet in battle, join the fight, and break them by force." Having thought this, he spoke gently: "Benchakai, beloved niece, do not grieve, lament, cry, or be wounded in heart." While comforting her, he called for ornaments and gave her necklaces, waist jewels, and shoulder chains. Then he went into the splendid palace.

Then the son of the Wind, splendid monkey, after Lady Benchakai had gone back into Lanka city, looked after her until his eyes could see no farther left or right. He leapt up through the clouds and returned to attend the incarnate lord.

The Causeway Is Planned

Then wise Phra Chakri rested by the riverbank for many nights, thinking about the war that would erase the lineage of the yakshas and make the whole earth smooth, as he had come from Vaikuntha to do. He rose and sat upon his couch until the moon bent behind the mountain edge, golden light brightened the clouds, and birds hastened the sun.

He bathed, purified himself, and dressed, shining like a fashioned god. Then he stepped gracefully out to the splendid golden pavilion.

He lowered himself upon the bright radiant throne, with the monkey soldiers gathered like stars around the moon. Then he gave royal speech to the ministers on left and right: "To raise this army and cross the great ocean to the island of Lanka, city of demons, what plan can anyone devise so that the troops will not suffer hardship?"

Then the splendid monkey soldiers heard Phra Chakri's royal words and rejoiced as if they had gained sixteen treasures. Each one offered according to his own power. Some would bend down Mount Meru and lay it as a footpath. Some would bail out and scoop away the ocean until it dried and became a great road. Some would put the whole army in their hands and carry them across. Some would create a ship as great as Mount Atsakan. Some would stretch their tails over the sea and have the monkeys climb across the waters.

Then Chomphuphan, splendid monkey king, heard Phra Chakri's words, raised joined hands, and answered the royal command: "All the monkey troops have mighty power and are loyal at Your Majesty's lotus feet. Their offered plans would succeed by power, but they would not bring Your Majesty's glory. Let the whole army go carry stones and throw them down as a road, so the troops may cross to the demon city. Your Majesty's fame will last through the age: the incarnate Narai made the causeway."

Then Phra Chakrakrit, whose power was famed in all directions, heard the clever monkey lord and was pleased, for the thought suited him. His face shone like the moon. He gave a royal command: "Son of the Sun, mighty and powerful lord, command every group of monkey troops, small and great, to carry stones and fill the bed of the ocean, making a road to cross to the demon city."

Then bold and wise Sukhrip received the command of the incarnate lord, bowed at his lotus feet, and went out.

He levied the troops of both cities. Monkey kings and lords all came together, left the army pavilion, and hurried straight ahead.

When they reached the sandy shore of the ocean, he halted the troops, small and great. Pali's swift younger brother said to the two ministers: "Nilaphat, command the splendid Chomphu monkeys. Bold and mighty Hanuman, command the victorious Khitkhin monkeys. You two leaders shall take turns receiving and sending the stones, throwing them into the great ocean to become a road across to victorious Lanka island."

Then bold son of the Wind and mighty Nilaphat heard Phraya Sukhrip's command. They rejoiced, arranged the brave monkey soldiers, and filled the riverbank with noise, each one making a pledge.

Then powerful Nilaphat led the monkey army, all twenty-seven oceans of troops, to the mountain forest.

When they reached the ridge of Mount Himmaphan, the son of Phra Kan thought with bitter anger against Hanuman: "That one is arrogant and proud. He treated me rudely and without respect, and I am ashamed without knowing where to put my face. Today I will test his power, and we will see his boast." Having thought this, he displayed his might. The ten directions shook. With both feet he gripped Mount Himawan; with both hands he lifted mountain peaks. The brave soldiers rushed in and pried up the high mountains, some breaking them by bodily strength. Each carried a stone and flew back.

When he arrived, Nilaphat called to the son of the Wind: "Mighty and brave lord, receive these stones and throw them into the great ocean."

Then bold Hanuman saw Nilaphat the monkey carrying mountain stones in both hands and both feet, each as great as noble Mount Gandhamadana. He said, "Throw them carefully, one stone at a time, not all together."

Then strong and mighty Nilaphat heard the son of Vayu and shouted mockingly: "Do not speak just to provoke me. I myself am not so heavy." Having said this, he dropped them all at once, meaning them to strike Hanuman's body.

Then the powerful and bold son of the Wind ran, leapt, and sprang, fast as the traveling wind. With left and right hands he gathered and caught all four stones. He threw them into the ocean bed, and the whole world shook loudly.

When this was done, Hanuman thought: "Why is Nilaphat, splendid monkey, so arrogant and proud of himself, boasting of victorious power? Good. Now he will see. I will answer his fierceness." Thinking so, he led his attendants and sprang away to the forest mountain.

When he arrived, he displayed power like a cyclone at the end of an age. He shook the sixteen heavens and swiftly broke off mountain tops.

He tied stones to every hair on his whole body, leaving no place empty. He called and urged all his attendants onward. Once they were assembled, he flew back.

When he arrived, he shouted down at once: "Mighty and brave lord, receive the stones that I have brought for the monkeys."

Then battle-skilled Nilaphat saw the powerful son of Vayu floating in the sky with mountain stones tied to every hair, with no gap anywhere. The monkey lord said, "Son of the Wind, mighty one, throw them four at a time, enough for my hands to catch. If you throw down too many, I do not know how I can receive them in time."

Then strong and powerful Hanuman said: "Ho, bold Nilaphat. When you carried stones here, I told you to throw only one at a time. You, proud and fierce monkey, showed off and dropped them all together. Do not delay. Receive these well." Speaking so, the splendid monkey shook them loose with his power. The stones fell at once like a rain of mountains.

Then brave Nilaphat leapt and sprang to catch the stones, turning and darting in uncertainty. He seized them with his left and right hands as they fell in countless showers. Then he quickly used his feet to catch them too, keeping them from striking his body.

Then victorious Hanuman saw powerful Nilaphat receiving the mountain stones with his feet. He grew furious like doomsday fire, gnashed his teeth, and pointed at him. "Ho, arrogant Nilaphat. You are base and rude, dishonoring me without fear. When you brought stones, you dropped four at once and I received them. When my turn came to throw them down, why did you not receive them with your hands? I am the son of Vayu, famed as a man brave in war. Even mighty Chomphu, whose fame fills the whole world, I captured and presented to Lord Narai. I went to Mount Gandhamadana in a single moment without difficulty. You are proud indeed, acting as if no one can fight you. How great is your power, base and arrogant captive?"

Then powerful and bold Nilaphat heard the son of Vayu shame him and grew angry like the fire of death. He stamped, shouted, and answered: "Ho, vile splendid monkey. You are proud and think yourself excellent, but I know the matter well. You too are an old captive of the royal lord. I am a new captive, come to serve in erasing the enemy host and making the causeway for the army to cross to the demon city by royal command. You deliberately display your power and try to blame me. If I had done as you did, even you, excellent as you are, could not have caught them. Do not boast of your power. Come compete and show our skill."

Then strong and powerful Hanuman heard this, clenched his teeth in anger, shook all over, leapt, and sprang at him.

Mountains and sea thundered; earth and sky trembled. He kicked mighty Nilaphat, who fell heavily to the ground.

Then the son of Phra Kan sprang up at once. The monkey rushed forward, whirling back at him.

He surged in and grappled the son of the Wind with bold and fierce strength. They hugged and wrestled in confusion, each straining to kill the other. They kicked, clenched, and bit, changing positions swiftly as a spinning wheel. Neither yielded at all, and the sound shook the sky.

Then bold Hanuman, battle-skilled, pressed and drove in combat, crushing and striking. Nimble and quick with both hands, he caught Nilaphat the splendid monkey, intending to kill him. He slammed him against the earth and hurled him away.

Nilaphat fell against the peak of Mount Chakrawan. The sound shook and thundered. The stone split into sparks, glittering like lightning.

Then brave Nilaphat was not hurt in body. The monkey lord grew angry like doomsday fire, stamped, shouted, and displayed his power. His two eyes were like the sun. Wanting to destroy Hanuman's life, he gnashed his teeth, leapt, and sprang back.

The son of Phra Kan snatched, swung, and seized Hanuman, intent on killing him. He smashed him down upon the earth, and the sound thundered through the three realms.

Then bold Hanuman, the great soldier, sprang up quickly, furious like doomsday fire. Shaking, grinding his teeth and jaws, roaring and intent on killing, he displayed power, leapt, and charged to press the fight.

The two grappled and fought in confusion. Neither retreated or fled. They hugged, wrestled, and bit, each swift and skillful in turn.

Then Sukhrip, the great commander, sat by the ocean shore and looked out. He saw the two monkeys fighting like a lion and a royal lion, each using his mighty power. The son of the Sun was alarmed. However much he shouted for them to stop, they did not listen, and he could not sit still and watch. He sprang up quickly and ran out at once.

When he arrived, he stood between them, blocking the faces of the two splendid monkeys and holding them back so they could not fight, while all the troops cried out loudly.

เหวยเหวยนิลพัทอหังการ์ / หยาบช้าหมิ่นกันไม่เกรงใจ
เมื่อคราวเอ็งขนมาส่ง / โยนลงสี่ก้อนกูรับได้
ครั้นถึงทีเราทิ้งลงไป / เหตุใดไม่รับด้วยกร
ตัวกูก็ลูกพระพาย / ขึ้นชื่อว่าชายชาญสมร

จองถนนข้ามพลไปเมืองมาร / ตามพระโองการประกาศิต
