This is the eighty-first สมุดไทย unit of the Rama I Ramakien as published by the Vajirayana Digital Library. It follows Phiphek's consecration as king of Lanka, Rama's visit to Thotsakan's garden with Sida and Phra Lak, Atsakan's invasion from Cakkrawan, the battle against his self-multiplying boon, and Rama's destruction of him after Phiphek explains the Ganga condition.

Phiphek Crowned and Atsakan Destroyed

Then the solar-line lord, Phra Narai, pondered how he would give Lanka to Phiphek the asura king. His heart was full of mercy and compassion; he wished to make him the crown and pillar of the yakshas and to preserve the royal honor of the king as long as sky and earth endured. He was so joyful beyond thought that he could not sleep, until golden light shone in the sky and dawn rose over the crest of Mount Yukhonthon.

Then he bathed, purified himself, and put on shining splendid ornaments, together with beautiful Lady Sida and powerful Phra Lak his younger brother. They all proceeded in procession to the palace for the yaksha's consecration. Benchakai and the asura women also came in attendance upon Phra Chakri.

He lowered himself onto the jeweled throne beneath the glory of the white umbrella, surrounded by ministers, counselors, monkeys, and asuras in a dense assembly.

Then Phiphek the yaksha king, when the auspicious hour drew near, came to the bathing place.

He bathed his body with jeweled sprinklers and water mixed with perfume and pollen. His trousers were patterned with delicate gems and curved silver kanok borders shining bright. His garment was a deep green ground, pierced with glittering designs and bright gold. The side-panel was a golden vinework spray, and the floating cloth flashed with jewel-studded light. A breast-jewel, girdle chains, and jeweled loops shone; diamond chain-garlands glimmered like fireflies. Directional plates were carved with floating gem-discs, and armlets and bracelets clasped his arms. Rainbow rings sparkled, and a jeweled crown, flower garlands, shining divine rubies, earrings, and ear-guards were set upon him. Then he moved gracefully to wait upon Phra Chakri.

He bowed his head at the lotus feet of the radiant lord of the three worlds, in the jeweled palace amid monkeys and asuras.

Then the senior royal women on left and right had Lady Trichada and beautiful young Montho bathe, purify themselves, and dress in shining garments bright with pearls. The two young ladies were beautiful in form, like divine kinnari maidens. When it was finished, they came in procession down from the jeweled palace, followed by all the attendants and eunuchs.

Each woman joined her hands and bowed to supreme Phra Narai, prostrating in a crowded assembly in the shining great palace.

Then Phra Kritsanurak the creator had Phiphek the kumbhanda ascend and sit upon the golden jeweled throne, the place of supreme consecration beneath the great white umbrella. He was beautiful like a universal emperor, a royal crown among kings in the world. Montho the queen was placed at his left, and Trichada at his right. The priests and ministers sat ranked in their groups.

The auspicious hour arrived. The astrologers opened the bai si for the spirit-calling rite. Gongs and drums sounded in tumult, and trumpets and conches rang in uproar. The priests lit the candles and set them in mirrors, passing them clockwise. Ministers, poets, royal counselors, and the royal family received and passed them onward.

When the rite had completed seven full rounds according to the order of the ritual manuals, the priests extinguished the victory candles and waved the smoke for blessing. Then they took powder and anointed the three royals so that prosperity and firm blessing might grow. The royal preceptor recited the mantras three times completely according to the treatise. Then he took conch water and water from the vessels and poured it over the yaksha king's head. All three solar-line royals offered blessings to him.

Then the powerful solar-line lord entrusted the city of Lanka, its people, counselors, soldiers, vast wealth, garments, and bright royal women to Phiphek the asura king and to the solar-line royal soldiers. "Guard the kingdom. Be a foundation for the royal city in days to come. Stand in justice and righteousness, so that the people may live in peace and joy."

Then Phiphek, who had good understanding, heard the royal command of the lord of the world, bowed, and answered: "Your servant asks to take Your Majesty's power as refuge and shelter over my head, like a jeweled umbrella held above my crown, until my life comes to death."

Then the lord of the three worlds, when he had finished giving the city to Phiphek the kumbhanda, invited his beautiful-faced queen and glorious Phra Lak to move gracefully with him to the shining golden palace.

Then Phiphek the yaksha king enjoyed the heavenly city with Queen Montho and Trichada, surrounded by eighty-four thousand palace women, all present, singing and serving the asura in the splendid great palace. Delighting in the taste of love, the yaksha king lived in happiness and ease like Lord Makhawan seated in the Wetchayan heavenly palace.

When the radiant sun rose and golden light shone through the sky, the kumbhanda bathed, dressed in shining ornaments, and came to wait upon Phra Chakri.

He bowed his head at the lotus feet and reported to radiant Phra Narai: "I invite Your Majesty to go enjoy the garden, filled with every kind of auspicious tree, vast, secluded, and full of delight, like the splendid Nandawan garden of Thao Makhawan in the heavenly city."

Then the jeweled Phra Chakra heard Phiphek the asura and was filled with multiplied joy. He gave a commanding order to the radiant son of the Sun: "Prepare the great army. We will go to Thotsakan's flower garden."

Then Sukhrip, powerful and strong, received the command of the lord who rides Garuda, bowed in homage, and went out.

He arranged a great marching procession, with escort troops crowded on left and right, packed along the road in a tumult of yakshas and monkeys. All carried every kind of weapon, in loud and busy commotion, from the front of the great victory palace to the gate of the victorious city. The shining jeweled chariot that Indra had given was harnessed and set at the jeweled landing, waiting for the lord of the world to depart.

Then Phra Narai of the solar line, bearer of the bow, together with the chief queen and powerful Phra Lak his younger brother, bathed, purified themselves, and dressed in shining garments like divine figures. Moving with graceful hands, they came and mounted the great victory chariot.

O chariots, two jeweled chariots: their wheels and rims were all emerald. Their poles and yokes curved softly, their thrones were tiered and pierced with decorative panels. Busabok towers of cut gems stood with image-panels; jeweled pillars rose beside kanok leaves. Four faces were covered in gold finials, like palaces in Indra's city. The chariot of the glorious younger brother went ahead of the bow-bearing lord's chariot. The two chariots moved smoothly like flying swans, with high regalia shading the sun in bright splendor. Phra Harirak Chakri was beautiful, Lady Lakshmi was beautiful in radiance, and the noble younger brother of Narai was beautiful. The army groups were beautiful with joined hands. Gongs and drums sounded in a deep roar; the earth rang and shook as they left the city of Lanka and went straight to the garden.

When they arrived, they descended from the jeweled chariot splendid with pearls, together with young Lady Sida and the victorious younger brother who shared his life.

The three royals walked through the garden admiring the flowers, thick and abundant in the pleasure grove. They plucked kaeo, phikun, and phikan blossoms, eaglewood, sandalwood, lamduan, and ylang-ylang; prayong, nang yaem, sao yut, sattaban, red and white lotuses, and fragrant aloeswood; champi with pip, champa, kalong, roses, and saraphi. The lord chose and plucked open blossoms for the beloved young queen. His younger brother broke flower sprays and humbly offered them to his elder sister, the goddess. The lord pointed with his hand and invited his younger brother to admire the many trees: mango, pru, clusters of prayong, pring, and prang, with hanging fruits in lovely abundance. They admired the lotus pond: the water was clean, bright, cool, and clear; some blossoms opened, some stood in bud, hiding among leaves; bees searched and pressed into the fragrant water. Some petals had fallen, spreading sweet pollen fragrance, delightful and pleasant. The place was as joyous as Nandanodyana, and they took pleasure in gladness and delight.

Then Phiphek the yaksha king bowed his head and invited Phra Chakri to ascend to the splendid residence.

Then Phra Chakkrit, whose power was famed in every direction, invited the chief royal lady and the younger brother who shared his life. They walked with graceful steps, beautiful like Thao Kosiy, and ascended the asura residence in the middle of the garden.

He lowered himself onto the jeweled throne bright with pearls, then gave royal command and asked lovely Lady Sida: "When Thotsaphak stole you away, young beloved, and brought you to the flower garden, where did the asura make you stay?"

Then Lady Sida, highest in love, joined her hands and bowed to the lord of the world. The lady answered the royal word: "Thotsakan the asura made me, your servant beneath your blessed feet, stay in this residence. I endured suffering here without a single day free from it."

Then Phra Kritsanurak the creator remained in the kumbhanda's garden until the sun sloped low. Stars and moon filled the sky with shining light. The sounds of birds grew quiet, and Phra Phai blew softly in a gentle breeze. The lord of the sky entered the auspicious bedchamber with the beloved chief queen in the splendid residence and enjoyed the night.

Then Sukhrip, the shining monkey king, had the monkey soldiers sit watch around the fires. On the outer level he had kumbhandas take turns patrolling carefully, surrounding the crossings and fire-posts so that none could enter or leave.

Then Vaiyakasura the yaksha and Nilakayasura the asura, who had come from Cakkrawan, when Thotsakhirithon and Khiriwan had gone out to fight and lost their lives, had been ordered by the lord of Lanka to stay and help with the war. On the day the ten-headed lord died, they left the great city of Lanka, passed through forest by hidden ways, and hurried to the city of Cakkrawan.

When they arrived, they bowed and reported to Thao Atsakan the yaksha: "The city of Lanka is now attacked by war. Rama and Lakshmana, two human brothers, lead powerful, fierce monkey troops. They have slaughtered the solar line of Brahma beyond counting. Your two sons both went out to war and lost their lives. Even the lord of Lanka has been killed by the enemy. Your two servants nearly died; only by shifting and escaping did we come here." They reported the events from the beginning, according to all they had seen and known.

Then Thao Atsakan the yaksha learned that his powerful friend had been killed by the enemy, and that his two asura sons had also lost their bodily lives. He was shocked as if Lord Death had come to strike off the kumbhanda's head. Full of love and grief, the yaksha king mourned. Tears filled his eyes; anger and pain pressed shut his heart. His whole body was rigid and stunned, and he could hardly speak. His heart burned and raved, and the king's wrath was like the fire at the end of time. He ground his teeth, stamped his feet, and roared like a lion in battle: "Hah! These common humans and vile beasts - how much power can they have, that they dared invade and attack without fearing me, beloved friend of the dead? I will cut them apart until my anger is satisfied." Having spoken, he gave royal command: "Hey, demon yaksha ministers, hurry and prepare the army. I will go kill the enemy."

Then the four great ministers received the command of the earth-bearing lord, joined their hands, and left the audience hall.

They appointed soldiers skilled in war, choosing only fierce and powerful ones. One troop had hard-hearted masks and held guns, every one clenching his teeth. One troop had grimacing faces and red eyes, holding spears and brandishing them in disorder. One troop had coarse soldier faces and held lances with yak-tail plumes. One troop bared white fangs and held bows, shouting in loud tumult. One troop had black, heavy faces and held swords, with tridents tucked at the side, wild with power. One troop had green faces and curved fangs, holding bird-guns and wearing daggers. They also prepared the bright jeweled chariot, all completed according to the asura's command.

Then Thao Atsakan the yaksha, when dawn cleared and sunlight rose, came to the bathing place.

He cleansed and bathed his body in delight, while jeweled sprinklers scattered water like rain. He rubbed himself with royal perfumes mixed with flower pollen. His trousers were patterned with coiled vine borders; his garment was a leaf-green ground interwoven with gold. He wore divine jeweled armor as an upper garment, breast-jewel, chain-garlands, directional plates, gold bracelets, Vasuki armlets, and blood-red jeweled rings. A shining yellow-diamond crown, gold earrings, and jeweled ear-guards adorned him. He fastened on the great mace, excellent weapon, and took the victorious war-bow and arrows in his hands. Like powerful Wetsuwan, he walked to mount the royal chariot.

O war chariot: its wheels and rims were deep-sounding, curved and high. Its poles, yokes, axle, hubs, and rims were all splendid with gems and gold. A floating throne supported the busabok; lion panels pressed against vine-kanok designs on both sides. Tiers of Garudas seized nagas and stood firm, and beyond them divine figures knelt with joined hands. It was harnessed with two thousand brave khotchasih, restless like lions. The charioteer held a javelin and drove, leaping forward like the blowing wind. It was adorned with royal shades, ranked flags, jeweled screens, and umbrellas. The great army marched in crowded ranks; gongs and drums thundered. The soldiers shouted until the sound rang; the chariot wheels roared. Smoke darkened and thickened in deep waves as they crossed the great ocean.

When they reached the shore of the sea, the asura would not pause. He urged the great army onward and crossed into victorious Lanka.

Then the men and women of every frontier post saw the army from Cakkrawan advancing and were terrified, losing all composure. Some carried children and led grandchildren, running in wild noise. Some cried and called out to one another in turmoil. Some fled alone, afraid of death. Some lifted wives and ran, letting goods fall and scatter. Some rode fathers-in-law and dragged mothers-in-law, all in confusion as they hurried into Lanka.

Their officers went to the garden and reported the matter to Phiphek the yaksha: Thao Atsakan the demon had raised his army and come to attack.

Then Phiphek the yaksha king, learning that an enemy had come to fight, went up to wait upon the four-armed lord.

When he arrived, he bowed at the lotus feet and reported to Phra Narai who bears the bow: "Thao Atsakan, powerful in battle and ruler of Cakkrawan city, was a friend of Thao Thotsaphak. The yaksha lord has raised brave troops, crossed the great ocean, and come to fight. The border people are shattered and have fled inward."

Then Phra Kritsanurak the lord learned that Atsakan the demon had raised his army and come to fight. He gave a commanding order to the radiant son of the Sun: "Hurry and arrange the army. I will go fight the kumbhanda."

Then Sukhrip, powerful and strong, received the command of the lord who rides Garuda, bowed in homage, and went out.

He arranged the great procession. Brave Chomphuvarat commanded five oceans of powerful troops as the vanguard, pressing hard into war. Next the monkey Nilnon commanded five oceans of soldiers. Next the monkey Khomut commanded fierce monkeys in equal number. Next mighty Hanuman commanded five oceans of strong soldiers. Each one was of divine lineage; wherever they entered, they broke through, and no one could withstand their hands. Phiphek went beside the royal chariot of Phra Narai, bearer of the bow. The army of the city of Lanka held the rear behind the monkey troops.

Then the lord of the three worlds, whose glory outshone the worlds, together with his glorious younger brother, came to the bathing place.

They opened channels of clean divine water, falling from golden lotus sheaths like fine rain. They wore fragrant waters mixed with flower pollen. Their trousers were bordered with figures of seven-headed Vasuki set with pearls and gems. Each wore Makhawan garments with divine side-cloths and side-panels. Their upper garments were star-brocade, small-sleeved, with floating golden discs and interlaced designs. Breast-jewels set with red diamonds, directional plates, incised chain-garlands, dragon-shaped gold bracelets, emerald armlets, rings worthy of a city in Garuda settings, jeweled crowns, and divine ear-guards adorned them. The elder brother bore the Brahmastra; Phra Lak took up the Phlaiwat bow and arrows. Beautiful like sun and moon, they moved gracefully and mounted the royal chariot.

O heavenly chariot: its lovely body shone with coral and stood tall. Its curved yoke was graceful, its circular hubs and jeweled wheels were set with gold. Its throne was faceted crystal and jeweled; animal figures gleamed with pearls. Its busabok roof shone bright, high as Brahma's heavenly palace. It was harnessed with ten divine horses, glorious, fierce, and lively. The charioteer drove swiftly as the wind carried it. The younger brother sat with hands joined in reverence. All high regalia and jeweled screens were complete, with rows of umbrellas and flags. Flutes played in answer to curved trumpets; gongs layered their sound with drums. The wheels roared and shook the earth. Brave troops shouted loudly. Yakshas and monkeys separated into their units, leaping and swaggering as they hurried on.

Looking aside, the lord saw the asura yakshas advancing in a great army. He halted the mighty troops and held them firm, to observe the asuras' strength.

Then Thao Atsakan the yaksha raised his army along the road and looked over to see the monkey host. Humans were the army's lords, riding jeweled chariots and holding bows, two graceful figures like moon and sun together. The asura ground his teeth until the sky rang. In sudden rage he ordered the shining jeweled chariot driven through the troop ranks and forward.

He shouted, "Hey, little humans! You are not worth even the tip of a finger. Why are you arrogant and proud enough to chase and kill the asura host? Even the ten-headed yaksha king, my beloved friend, has lost his life, and you did not fear the solar line of Brahma, but vilely dared such a deed. I, who rule Cakkrawan and am lord over the demon yakshas, whose power surpasses the earth, have come to take your lives. As for the monkey troops and soldiers, I will leave not one behind. I will not spare even blood clinging to grass-blades. Be satisfied now, fools."

Then the lord of the three worlds, whose glory outshone the worlds, heard him and commanded: "Hey, common asura! What sort of yaksha are you, boasting of power and bravery? Are you better than Thotsakan, the demon lord who ruled Lanka? Deluded one, you roar in speech and do not know Death. In a moment you will be crushed to dust by the victorious arrow of my mighty hand."

Then Thao Atsakan the yaksha heard and became furious, as if struck by the fire of time. He ground his teeth, stamped his feet, and roared thunderously like a lion. "Since you boast that you are brave enough to fight me, good; we shall see." Speaking so, he gave royal command to the army: "Hurry into the assault. Strike and cut them down beneath your hands."

Then the demon troops skilled in battle received the command of their powerful lord and drove one another into the attack.

Both right and left wings advanced. Officers and common soldiers shouted fiercely, throwing weapons in tumult, the asuras not caring for life.

Then the monkey soldiers of the vanguard split apart to meet them in crow-wing formation and struck in from every side.

They seized the kumbhandas' weapons, surged forward, stabbing, cutting, and driving them back. The demon troops could not endure their power. They died and broke in confusion, losing sense.

Then the yaksha squad and company commanders saw the monkeys pressing and mingling in pursuit while the asuras broke and piled over one another. Each one displayed authority, shouting like thunder, driving the asura kumbhandas to turn back and fight the monkeys.

Some stabbed, some cut in confusion, and each shot arrows. They reinforced one another, wheeling into the fight, joining close battle and pressing the attack.

Then Hanuman, skilled in victorious battle, saw that the monkey soldiers could not break the asura army. He leapt and sprang into the middle of the troops, displaying fearsome battle power, and brandished the diamond trident like a flame as he drove in to kill and fight.

Alone he fought, struck, and cut with courage like the lordly lion. Yaksha troops died beneath his hands, and the monkeys pressed forward in pursuit.

When he came near the victory chariot of the yaksha lord, he stood before the asura, and the monkey chief cried out in proclamation: "Hey, Atsakan the demon! Why are you so arrogant and vile, raising this great army to seek victory against the four-armed lord? Your head will be cut off by the force of the Brahmastra arrow and roll on the middle of the earth, while monkeys toss it in play like a polo ball."

Then Thao Atsakan the yaksha heard the monkey's harsh words and burned with anger like fire consuming the sky. "Hey, ugly beast! Do not boast of your master beyond measure. I am powerful, brave, skilled, and mighty. These two human brothers have fallen into what Brahma wrote, and you yourself should not think you will escape alive." Speaking so, he brandished his weapon, displaying fierce power until the earth shook, stamped his foot, and drove the royal chariot in to kill the monkeys.

Then mighty Hanuman, skilled in war, leapt and sprang into battle, opposing him on the asura's chariot.

With the bright monkey's power he charged and kicked Atsakan the demon. The chariot broke and shattered into dust, and the lionlike charioteer lost his life.

Then Thao Atsakan, brave of heart, fell onto the surface of the earth. The demon lord was enraged. He took up the shining bow, set the arrow to the string, aimed fiercely to kill, drew with all his strength and power, and the asura loosed it.

Arrows filled the air by the thousand, with a fearful thunderous sound. They struck the monkey soldiers and common troops, who fell and died in confusion.

Then Phra Hariwong, blessed with radiance, saw the yaksha arrows attacking and the monkeys dying in heaps. He drew the Brahmastra, powerful enough to make the earth ring, set it to the string, pulled it firm, and the righteous lord shot it with power.

It cracked and cracked like thunder, roaring up to Dusit. It became winds blowing through all eight directions, and the monkeys received their lives again. The victorious arrow struck the demon troops, destroying the whole yaksha army, and then hit Atsakan the demon, cutting his body apart at once.

Then Thao Atsakan the yaksha did not lose his life. The asura instead became two beings, each gripping a great mace, displaying fierce power in uproar. Grinding their teeth and roaring, they struck through the troops and reached the front of the chariot.

The two lords brandished their clubs like bright flames of acid-fire, striking left and right without pause by their violent strength.

Then the two radiant royal brothers descended from the jeweled chariot and seized the two asuras by their power.

Phra Narai stepped on a shoulder and braced the bow, his hand grasping the yaksha's head. Phra Lak stepped on the asura's knee and raised the victorious bow in his right hand. Each struck the kumbhandas, and the two Atsakans could not endure it. Their bodies broke into four pieces and flew apart, falling on the earth.

Then Thao Atsakan the yaksha, though cut apart, did not lose his life. He returned as four kumbhandas. Each stamped in anger until earth and sky rolled with sound. All four demon lords rushed in together to attack.

They struck and defended in confusion, each brave with strength. The close battle tangled; they fought and shifted back and forth.

Then the two solar-line royal lords brandished their powerful bows, and the lord of the sky seized the four asuras.

Phra Lak stepped on two demon lords, and the avatar stepped on two yakshas. They turned and seized them at once, striking all four yaksha lords. The sound was like thunderbolts. Their bodies were cut into eight pieces as if struck by the discus, by the power of Phra Harirak's hands and Phra Lak his younger brother.

Then Thao Atsakan the yaksha, though his body was cut through its middle, did not lose his life. He returned as eight yaksha lords, roaring in tumult, angry like the fire of time, grinding their teeth.

Then Phra Kritsanurak the creator, with Phra Lak who shared his life, saw what Thao Atsakan had become. Each drew an arrow and set it to the string, aiming fiercely to kill. They pulled with strength and power, and the lord of the sky shot into battle.

The arrows struck the eight Atsakan asuras, cutting their bodies into sixteen parts. They rolled scattered across the earth, then rose again with bodies and arms together. The princes shot again many times, but the asura did not lose life or die. He returned in bodily forms until there were a thousand, grinding teeth and ready to fight.

Then the eighteen crowned monkey chiefs saw the two powerful lords killing the wicked asura. His head and body were cut apart many times, but his life did not end; one being returned in asura forms until he reached a thousand. The monkey chiefs were furious. They drew tridents and brandished them like spinning discuses, rushing and whirling into battle, each stabbing and cutting in turmoil.

They broke the asuras by their battle power and did not slacken or stop their hands. Yet the more he died, the more he arose to seek victory, until their minds and hearts grew weary with fighting.

Then Phra Chakkrit, whose power outshone the blazing sun, saw that Thao Atsakan the demon lord could not be killed to the end of life. He gave royal command and asked Phiphek the yaksha king: "I have destroyed asura hosts beyond counting. Even Thao Thotsaphak, mighty, accomplished, and brave, whose soul was not in his body, I still killed and ended. But what is the magic and power of Thao Atsakan? The more he is killed, the more forms arise. My doubt multiplies."

Then Phiphek the yaksha king heard Phra Chakri's command, joined his hands, and answered: "Thao Atsakan, powerful in battle, received a boon from Phra Isuan the lord. Even if divine weapons strike him and his body is cut apart, even if he is chopped into hundreds and thousands of pieces, he shall not die or lose his life. Instead he returns as a thousand, fierce and strong in battle. A wise divine youth reported to radiant Phra Isara: 'You, mighty lord, have granted such a boon to the yaksha lord. He will oppress rishis, gods, humans, and gandharvas throughout the three worlds, bringing terrible suffering, and the yaksha will only grow more arrogant. Even when Phra Narai incarnate comes, he will not be able to kill him.' Then the lord of the three worlds gave a divine decree: 'If anyone is to kill this kumbhanda and end his bodily life, when his body is cut apart, sweep it down into the Ganga. Then the asura will lose life.'"

The sound rang and shook the air. Arrows spread everywhere beyond counting. Straight by their fierce power, they struck Atsakan the asura. Every head and body was cut apart. Then a violent wind arose, lifting the bodies and casting them down into the Ganga, and the yaksha lost his life.

Then the gods and heavenly women of every order saw Phra Harirak Chakri kill the asura and end his life. Each rejoiced. They leaned from windows and clapped their hands brightly. Some showered divine golden flowers, sweet and fragrant as they descended. The apsaras played strings, their lovely sound ringing in every direction, and sang songs in the heavenly city. All together they offered blessings: "May all wicked enemies be defeated by the power of the bow-bearing lord. May enduring blessing increase, and may his power spread through all the earth."

Then the solar-line lord, radiant Phra Narai, having finished killing the asura and ending his life by power, enjoyed the divine flowers showered by the gods, sweet and fragrant to the nose. Together with his glorious younger brother, he admired the blossoms and delighted his heart. Then he mounted the Wetchayan chariot with all the troops, small and great, ordered the army to stand down, and returned to the garden.

Then radiant Matali spoke gracious words to powerful Phra Chakri: "Now the work of war is finished. Having spoken, he mounted the Wetchayan chariot, and the god drove it flying back to heaven.

ถึงสักร้อยบั่นพันท่อน / อย่าม้วยมรณ์สิ้นชีพอาสัญ
จึ่งกลับคืนเป็นขึ้นทั้งพัน / ให้ฤทธิแรงแข็งขันราวี
เทพบุตรองค์หนึ่งผู้ปรีชา / จึ่งทูลพระอิศราเรืองศรี
พระองค์ผู้ทรงฤทธี / ประสาทพรดั่งนี้แก่ขุนยักษ์
จะเบียดเบียนฤๅษีเทวัญ / มนุษย์คนธรรพ์ทั้งไตรจักร
จะได้ความร้อนรนเป็นพ้นนัก / ยักษายิ่งจักกำเริบใจ
ถึงมาตรพระนารายณ์อวตาร / จะสังหารมันก็ไม่ได้
องค์พระเป็นเจ้าภพไตร / ภูวไนยมีเทวบัญชา
แม้นใครจะฆ่ากุมภัณฑ์ / ให้มันสิ้นชีพสังขาร์
