Come, O ye gods, to this sacred place. Come to the ritual fire. Come to the pressing of the Soma. Come to receive the butter, the milk, the honey-sweet libations we offer with careful hands and reverent hearts.
O Agni, thou golden-mouthed purifier, carry our prayers upward. O Indra, bull-like, mighty one, grant us strength. O Soma, thou precious plant, give us thy blessings. O Savitṛ, impeller supreme, stir us to righteous action. O Varuṇa, keeper of the waters, lord of oaths, watch over us with thy ten thousand eyes.
O Vāyu, wind-god, swift and invisible, thou who fillest the spaces between heaven and earth — we honor thee. O Pṛthivī, earth-mother, broad and generous, we press our feet upon thee and ask thy blessing. O Dyaus, father of the sky, great and bright, look down upon us with favor.
O divine Twins, ye Aśvins, lords of healing and of the morning light, grant us health and strength. O Mitra, friend and keeper of oaths, bind us together in righteousness. O Pūṣan, golden guide, lead us safely through the perils of this life.
O Maruts, children of the storm, ye wild and terrible ones, we honor thee with bold voice. O Rudra, healer and destroyer both, we tremble before thee and yet we call upon thee. O Aditi, mother of the gods, grant us thy protection.
O ye assembled powers, O ye residents of heaven and earth and waters — we kindle this fire for you. We prepare this Soma for your joy. Accept our worship, O ye immortal ones. Bless us abundantly. Let thy favor flow down upon us like honey, like milk, like the rains that nourish all growing things. Make us prosperous. Make us wise. Make us worthy of thy eternal grace.
