Shelf Terms
Neo-Assyrian - The first-millennium Assyrian imperial and scribal world, especially the court and royal libraries of the seventh century BCE.
Nineveh - The Assyrian royal city whose libraries preserved thousands of scholarly, literary, ritual, medical, and omen tablets.
Ashurbanipal's library - The royal collection assembled under Ashurbanipal, preserving Babylonian, Sumerian, and Assyrian scholarly traditions in a Neo-Assyrian court setting.
Court report - A scholarly or divinatory message sent to the king, often interpreting celestial, ritual, or political signs.
Assyrian boundary - This shelf is for Assyrian setting and use, not every older composition copied by Assyrian scribes.
