A Good Works Translation from Akyürek-Şahin and Uzunoğlu 2025, No. 12

Translation Note
The inscription is an elliptical Greek dedication. The final accusative εὐχήν marks the object as a vow or votive offering; the verb "dedicated" or "set up" is implied rather than written. ὑπὲρ ἑαυτῶν means "for themselves" or "on behalf of themselves." The article's editors identify Δειόταρ̣ος with the better-known spelling Δηϊόταρος; Διταγας is read doubtfully and is kept cautious here as Ditagas.
Object Note
The source publication records the object as a small gray marble altar, inventory A-116-82, from the village of Kayı near Mihalıççık in the Eskişehir region, dated to the second or third century CE. Zeus Sarnendenos is connected in the article with north-eastern Phrygia and the Choria Considiana region, and the cult also appears in Bithynia and Dacia. The inscription belongs on the Celtic continental shelf because Deiotaros is a Galatian-name witness in an Anatolian Zeus-cult setting, not because the inscription itself is in a Celtic language.
