The Longhua — "Dragon Flower" — teaching is one of the great sectarian traditions of late-Ming and Qing China: the religion of the Unborn Old Mother, who sent her ninety-six hundred-million children out of the homeland of the Infinite into the world of dust, and who calls them home through three vast assemblies, the last of them the Dragon Flower Assembly from which the tradition takes its name. Its scriptures move between myth, liturgy, inner cultivation, and open letters from the Mother to her lost children.

The room opens with The Dragon Flower Precious Scripture, the tradition's central scroll — twenty-four chapters with their opening rites, dated by its own chronicle of disaster-years to the last winters of the Ming — in a Good Works Translation made directly from the Chinese, with the complete source text beneath the English.
