This room holds classical Persian literature in English: the two-volume Colonial Press anthology Persian Literature (Firdausi's Sháh Námeh in Atkinson's version, Omar Khayyám's Rubáiyát, Háfiz, and Sa'di's Gulistan in Ross's version) and Elizabeth A. Reed's survey Persian Literature, Ancient and Modern. Each edition says whose English it is and how much of the original it gives. The Sufi poets, and other versions of Omar Khayyām and the Gulistan, are on the Sufi shelf.
