The library exists so that these texts can be read. Please share them. This page explains how.

Our translations

Good Works Translations are new English translations made by the Tianmu Anglican Church from the original languages. They are © Tianmu Anglican Church and released under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International licence (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0).

You may copy, print, quote, teach from, translate and adapt them without asking, as long as you:

• credit the Good Works Library and link to tianmu.org;
• share alike: anything you make from them is shared under the same terms;
• don't sell them: non-commercial use only.

How to credit

Translated from the [language] by the Good Works Library (Tianmu Anglican Church), tianmu.org.

For a citation, give the author, the title, "translated by the Good Works Library", the year and the page address.

Books, recordings and other commercial uses

If you would like to use a translation in a book, an anthology, a recording, a course or anything else that is sold, write to us. We say yes gladly and usually ask no fee, only the credit line and, where possible, a copy.

Source texts and archival texts

The original-language texts printed after each translation, and the older public-domain translations in the library, keep their own terms. Each work's Source Colophon names its edition and licence. Most are in the public domain. A few modern editions allow non-commercial use only, and those terms pass to anyone reusing them.
