This room gathers the folk tales of the Iberian Peninsula, from Galicia and the North of Portugal to Castile and Andalusia. Its collections hold the stories told on winter nights about enchanted Moors and their hidden palaces, warlocks, saints and pilgrims to Compostella, clever students and foolish kings, set in named towns and countrysides. Each book is presented in the form its compiler gave it, and its introduction says plainly where the compiler says the tales came from and how freely they were retold.
