There was a thing, turbulent and perfect
Before Heaven and Earth were first born

Still, silent, and empty!
It stood alone, perfect,
Like a wheel it turns without tiring
Perhaps it is who nursed Heaven and Earth

I do not know its name
The word used is "Way"
It's a tough thing to describe, lets say it's "boundless"

The boundless says "Goodbye"
Having departed says "I am gone"
Being gone says "I have looped back to where I started!"
So the Way is boundless!
Heaven is boundless
Earth is boundless
And a king is boundless, in his own manner...

The middle realm has four absolutes
Surely the king is situated as one of them...?
Man follows Earth
Earth follows Heaven
Heaven follows the Way
And the Way follows just itself

有物混成
先天地生

寂兮寥兮
獨立不改
周行而不殆
可以為天下母

吾不知其名
字之曰道
強為之名曰大

大曰逝
逝曰遠
遠曰反
故道大
天大
地大
王亦大

域中有四大
而王居其一焉
人法地
地法天
天法道
道法自然
