The rule of the Way does nothing, and nothing is left undone

If a King were able to observe it
All things would transform of their own accord!

But if desire were the catalyst of their growth;
I would have to subdue it with the simplicity of the nameless!

The simplicity of the nameless
Is that he can take hold of none of his wants

Without them, he wields tranquility
And the world takes him into his proper place

道常無為而無不為

侯王若能守之
萬物將自化

化而欲作
吾將鎮之以無名之樸

無名之樸
夫亦將無欲

不欲以靜
天下將自定
