Reputation, or self, which is dear?
Self or belongings, when is too much?
Gain or loss, which is maladious?

So undue attachment must come at a great cost
So excess coveting must come with terrible loss

Know when plenty is plenty, and know no disgrace
Know when enough is enough, and know no peril

Use this, and long endure

名與身孰親
身與貨孰多
得與亡孰病

是故甚愛必大費
多藏必厚亡

知足不辱
知止不殆

可以長久
