Let the Sun watch over us from the heights of heaven; let the Wind shield us from the realms between; let Agni guard us here below, among the folk of earth.
I shall take joy in thee, O Savitar, whose blaze is worth a hundred offerings.
Keep us safe from the burning dart as it flies through the heavens.
Let god Savitar set the eye for us; let the Mountain set the eye; let the Placer lay the eye in its rightful stead.
Set the eye that we may behold; the eye for our own seeing.
Let us gaze upon this world—both whole and clear.
Let our eyes be turned toward thee, O Sun, so fair to see.
Though we see with mortal sight, grant us to behold with clearness and with grace.
