Come unto us together, O Indra and Viṣṇu! Two mighty gods, companions in all things. Together ye do protect the three worlds; together ye do battle against the forces of darkness.
Indra, the thunderer, and Viṣṇu, the wide-striding one—each doth fill his role in the great cosmos. Indra bringeth the rains that make the earth fertile; Viṣṇu doth measure out the three great strides that hold the worlds in place.
When ye come together, there is nothing that can withstand ye. The demons do flee in terror; the wicked do hide themselves away. Ye are the champions of the gods, the protectors of all that is righteous and true.
We call upon you both, O mighty ones! Accept our Soma! Hear our hymns! Be gracious unto us and grant us thy protection.
Let the friendship between Indra and Viṣṇu be as the model for all friendships. Let their cooperation be remembered forever. So do we pray unto you both, O gods most mighty and most wise.
