O Vastospati, lord of the dwelling! Master of the house, keeper of all that is within! Thou who standest at the threshold, guardian of all entrances! Thou who holdest dominion over the roof and the walls and the floor!

We honor thee, O mighty one! This house is thy house; these rooms are thy rooms; these people are thy people. Guard them from all evil! Keep the demons from entering! Let the blessing of the gods rest upon this place!

The wife dwelleth in safety here; the children play in thy protection. The cattle rest in thy care; the servants work in thy peace. All who dwell within these walls do so beneath thy watchful eye.

O Vastospati, giver of comfort! Let no thief enter here; let no enemy breach these walls! Let sickness flee when it draweth near! Let poverty pass by! Let all manner of good fortune enter through the door!

We make the offering unto thee, O lord of the house! Accept this gift with kindness! Be gracious unto all who dwell here! Let thy favor rest upon them forever! Guard them in this life and lead them safely to the worlds beyond!
