VII.92

O Vāyu, thou art the companion of Indra! When the war-god goeth forth to battle, thou runnest beside him, carrying his thunder and his fury. When the clouds gather in the sky, it is thy strength that driveth them forward; it is thy power that breaketh them open, releasing the torrents of rain.

Thou art the breath of life, the invisible force that sustaineth all things. In winter, thou killest the weak; in summer, thou refreshest the strong. Thou givest and thou takest away; thou bringest joy and thou bringest sorrow.

Accept our offering, O mighty Vāyu! And in return, grant us thy protection! Let us not be overcome by our enemies! Let our strength be as thy strength! Let our courage be as thy courage!
