Enlightenment At the Bottom of a Bowl

✦ ─── ⟐ ─── ✦

How fitting that having known the depths of pleasure and the heights of suffering, Buddha finds enlightenment at the bottom of simple a bowl of porridge. Knowing the whole of life, one knows joy is not in any particular thing or situation, but in the stance one takes to living itself. Flesh and bone, we may know the world even as we let go of it, and then even a humble rice porridge is but another bowl of the endless ambrosia of life. Every moment, in Hell and Heaven and everywhere in between, but a sweet draught to sip of.
