A Good Works Translation from EDCS and Heidelberg Controls
Belenus is one of the clearest divine-name bridges between Celtic religion and Latin civic cult. This dossier gathers the relevant Belenus records from the inspected EDCS
Belenoquery: mostly Aquileia, but also Altinum, Concordia, Narbo, Savaria, Bardonecchia, Ariminum, and Santicum. The English translates the Latin dedication formulae and leaves damaged names and uncertain restorations visible.

Reader Note
These inscriptions are Latin. They are valuable for the Celtic shelf because they preserve the cult-name Belenus, often in Roman civic and imperial forms: Belenus Augustus, Apollo Belenus, Apollo Belenus Augustus, Belenus Defensor Augustus, and possible local or civic extensions. Aquileia is the center of gravity. The cluster shows freedmen, women, seviri, Augustales, praetorian and military officers, guild patrons, civic decrees, household memorial dedications, a shrine with ornaments, and imperial dedication.
The page does not treat every EDCS Beleno query hit as divine evidence. The inspected query also returned items where the divine name is not visible or where Trebeleno is a personal name in a funerary inscription. Those are excluded from the translated body and named in the source colophon.
Colophon
This page translates forty-six relevant Latin records from the inspected EDCS Beleno query for the Continental Celtic expansion of the Good Works Library. The English is source-close: common vow formulae are translated, offices are kept plain, and broken names or uncertain restorations remain visibly broken. The page is a Belenus cult-name dossier, not a Gaulish-language dossier.
Compiled and formatted for the Good Works Library by the New Tianmu Anglican Church, 2026.

The EDCS Beleno query was captured and inspected on 2026-05-14 at Tulku/Tools/celtic/sources/continental_batch_2026-05-14/edcs_belenus_cluster/edcs_beleno_query.json. Ten Heidelberg controls were captured the same day in the same source folder: edh_HD023649.html, edh_HD033077.html, edh_HD017841.html, edh_HD019331.html, edh_HD009678.html, edh_HD033065.html, edh_HD033068.html, edh_HD033062.html, edh_HD033344.html, and edh_HD039875.html. EDCS is used here as a discovery and control route, not as a replacement for the printed corpora named in each record.
Three EDCS query hits were excluded from the translated body: EDCS-01300003, where the displayed source text is only L(ucius) Cur(tius?); EDCS-04900336, where the displayed source text does not preserve the divine name; and EDCS-65300088, a funerary inscription for Lucius Trebelenus Hospitalis, where Trebeleno is a personal name rather than the god Belenus. No EDCS or Heidelberg images are reproduced.
