Philippine literatures belong to many languages, peoples, scripts, islands, religions, and diasporas. The present shelf opens two distinct language doors: Tagalog, with Poblete's complete 1909 translation of Rizal's Noli Me Tangere, and Cebuano, with Vicente Rama's complete 1921 collection-text of Larawan. The Folklore and Oral Traditions room holds complete historical collections whose community, language, collector, and editorial mediation must remain visible. Begin with the literary introduction or reader's guide. Neither Tagalog nor Cebuano stands for Filipino, every Visayan language, or the whole archipelago; each work remains an exact historical edition inside a much larger field.
